This is actually a good sponsor. I just spent quite some time editing a low production quality video on the All Energy Australia solar show and could have used this. I assume it has a search for spoken key words like "Goodwe" so I can find the Goodwe exhibit in the 2 & 1/2hr video too. One question. I clicked the try the free and it brought me back to the same page I left. Where is the sign up?
Vista was a solid os if you had the ram. We would regularly upgrade Vista laptops from the default 512mb to 1gb with 2nd hand ram for $15 on top of the regular job it came in for. Made such a huge difference no one rejected it.
Never had a Vista machine. Used XP for years until i finally upgraded to Seven after hearing that 8 flopped. Did use a bunch of skins and edited stuff to make XP look like Vista, but eventually preferred the XP look.
The current Windows start up music is insulting. It sounds as inspirational as if you are about to engage Warp Drive for deep space exploration at the helm of the Star ship Enterprise when you are just sitting in either mum's basement or a wage cage.
windows 10 and probably windows 11 still has that startup sound, but it is disabled by default. to enable it, you must right click on the speaker icon on the tray apps list next to your clock and select sounds. there you can customize your windows alerts and other sounds, but there is also "Play Windows startup sound" checkbox.
the first laptop my father bought had windows vista pre-installed. the best part is that it also had office 2007, which basically no one else at the time knew how to use
Wow. This is so weird. My computer life also started with a Dell6400 where I first dabbled with iAtkos and then developed hackintosh video graphic drivers for some Dell and HP laptops. Looking back now, I must admit that Windows Vista was ahead of its time and still looks better than Windows 11.
How did you get the sound driver for it? I got the graphics driver, the Wi-Fi driver, but not the sound driver. I didn't use Bootcamp to install it. I was also looking everywhere for the sound driver, but nothing... (I found one but the drivers didn't work, and they were in setup info format)
I used to buy the FPP (the one with a plastic box, not the OEM version) of Vista Home Premium back in the day. I know, what a stupid decision but, I didn't really know back then. From the magazine, it looked good so I bought it 😂. Fortunately enough, Microsoft allow me to upgrade to Windows 7 using the same key. I forgot whether it was to Home Premium or to the Ultimate. Anyway, I keep using the same exact key to upgrade my system to Windows 10. So, it wasn't really a bad purchase of Vista I guess. ==== Just realised that computer PC or Mac in general is so much easier to use these days with all the plug-n-play feature fully utilised by both major OS.
3.5 years ago I had my own first desktop, was a Pentium 4 shitbox with 1GB RAM and I had upgraded the GPU so I could use Aero. I was bored so I decided to try Vista and I never had issues every time I used it. Somebody even made a kernel extension for it so you can run new software on it.
Looks like you got a very dodgy copy of Vista! Probably has some Group Policy settings enabled which is restricting what you do on it. The version you found that's less usable then the original! 🤣
I need Windows user installing/using MacOS for the first time! Always had a PC brain, don't know why. I can whiz around on a PC no problem since Windows 3.1 but keep not finding Apple products intuitive. At least when you want them to work for you, not the other way around :P
classic tape over the webcam. takes me back college. in lectures and all the laptops have these colorful squares(hand made) but annoying to look at tapes. i was like, at least use place color on there that blends in with the bezel. some of them got really disgusting where around the camera it would bee all sticky and dirty from adhesive left over for repeatedly putting the tape on and off.
Installing windows Vista in 2023 is next to impossible! There is a community enthusiast known as legacy update, who has archived all of the windows seven updates that you can grab from a clean install personally, I don’t feel it’s worth a time. I still have my Windows Vista equipped, Del Vistro 1500. 500 GB hard drive four gigs of ram twin core T 7500 Intel processor. Fully up-to-date with Microsoft office 2010 for business. I turn it on from time to time when I want to take a trip down the way back machine.
I think you need to install dx9.0c update to and compatible driver to enable aero ui. This make me reminisce some good ol memory 😅 I used to ran xp and vista on pentium D dual core at 1.4ghz, oc it with bsd pin mod to 1.8, ran pretty good until i upgrade that to c2d 2.2ghz, it was awesome (at that time)! 3x sticks of 512mb ddr2, paired with nv gt6200 i got gta sa at full 30fps lol. Yeah i was broke back then. Still remember win me on p3 667mhz 😂
Windows Vista wasn't bad just came at wrong time, cause good luck trying to use it on a late 90s PC lol. also Internet Explorer is still in Windows 11 just very hidden

I can't see my question about Filmora from my other YT account here. Shadow banned again.
Filmora is quite an advanced video editor which has evolved a lot in the past few years
Do people with Lifetime licenses get to upgrade for free?
As much as we joke around about vista, at least we can all agree it looked Good and the system sounds were memorable
@Emoralisthat is because Win7 had the same sounds
When it first released, it looked gorgeous and high tech.
Windows: greets you with welcoming calm sounds.

Windows Vista even with it's faults was so refreshing back in the day.
Microsoft failed to optimize it so hard that it caused technology to advance quicker than expected.
@Emoralis Dial-up and Vista do not sound contemporary to me...
It was full of viruses
@@bluecollarmenproductions What are you even talking about?
No it wasn't.

That wasn’t the only problem though. Windows Vista RTM was a buggy mess, once service pack 1 had been released it was a smooth experience.
Never had a Vista machine. Used XP for years until i finally upgraded to Seven after hearing that 8 flopped. Did use a bunch of skins and edited stuff to make XP look like Vista, but eventually preferred the XP look.
8:32 KITI!! Definitely the best (and softest) System Administrator around!
Forget all the other tech channels folks, this is the only one you want or need. Thanks, Sam!
This guy is a genius sooo far ahead of his time! Thanks Sam!
Glad that worked out so well for ya! Didnt think it would be so feature rich and full of functionality and totally work!
Its nice to see sam as a kid. Havent changed at all 😅
I still use Windows Vista on a few of my computers. It was just misunderstood. It's a great operating system that had a rough start.
Say what you want but Windows Vista and 7 are the most beautiful desktop operating systems to ever exist.
Hello my zeteteta

No.... KDE Plasma... not just "beautifull"... but also... efficient, stable, configurable, secure, private, etc....

Same here. In the modern day it’s not that bad since hardware has improved

windows vista. “no key. no using me”
Cool you got a sponsor. Is it your first sponsor?
You do know how they "Fixed" vista right?
They threw away the kernel and replaced it with XP64 server kernel.

It's not a standalone installation, it's Parallels Desktop running a Windows Vista VM.

I have that same 12" macbook, it's so nice! Mine is rose gold base spec tho, I wish it had more RAM

I used xp until windows 8.1! If it wasnt for school, i might still be using just that. Now, im typically using linux mint 21.2.
I had longhorn installed. It was xp with extra features. Vista was more redesigned.
