If you can’t control your dog you shouldn’t bring it to these kind of events. Especially if it likes to chase horses. Glad you and Doughnut were able to keep your composure through that
Wow. He even took the dog in his stride. What a complete nightmare. That round shows he’s a real forward thinking guy who just needs to be shown a fence and he’ll take it on. What a round. Congratulations.
Donut's level of professionalism and calmness with that dog was amazing. I'm so happy for you guys! You were incredible and made it look easy. Can't wait to see your next adventure and what start boxes this pony takes you through in the future. Well done!
Hurrah for the £1 Pony!!! What a megastar!!!! He looked utterly magnificent in all three phases, and the leaps he did over the broken bridge, and the trakhaner[sp?] WOW!!!! Huge congrats on getting there, and completing!!! Can't wait to see where you go from here!!! 🥕 🥕 🍏 🍏 💐 🍾 🤩 💖
Very well done. Donut is a lean, mean, jumping machine! He looks fabulous and is testament to your skill, dedication and determination. What a privilege to hack round the estate. I also follow Tina and Meg, so am seeing the Grassroots comp from all sides. Best wishes for the rest of the season.
Congratulations. Not only a fantastic job in producing donie but also the very best badminton grassroots vlog by a country mile. Super job with the series overall - and with your skill in storytelling, it'll be fascinating to see yee progress up the grades even more. Brilliantly done
He is a machine x country, nothing fazes him, so willing, lugs pricked, well done 🎉 I absolutely love your common sense and just getting on with things, you both deserve to have a brilliant season and great future, no spoilt girl here, just a hard working, talented lass with a super supportive mum ❤ xx
Wow Evie and donut what a fantastic round that lot was I’d be proud too he looks beautiful so tucked up and super fit. Shame about the loose dog but he didn’t bat an eye lid bless him. This was so good to watch.very well done.tfs🤗🏇🤗
Congratulations, Evie & Nutty 🎉 it was wonderful to see you both powering round Badminton; such an inspiration to other riders....the only way is up! The dog incident was unfortunate but fortunately it didn't upset you as it may have done for other riders/horses. The colour chart for Donut made me laugh. I'd say he was more a "Copper Sunrise." Once again, well done. Much love to you all ❤🐴🐎❤️
What an amazing achievement, well done to you both, especially how you coped with the loose dog. Donut was born to do eventing - so excited for the future. A pleasure to watch.

Well done, how awesome to get Donut to the champs and he jumped so beautifully! Also well done to you both for dealing with the dog chase so well and calmly in a high pressure situation.
Incredible cross country Evie!!!! What a champion horse he is. You’ve got an upper level cross country machine and your riding ability is up to the challenge! He honestly looked like the upper level horses I’ve watched from last week! So happy and thrilled for you! All the work you’ve been doing has paid off. Congratulations!! 👍👍
So amazing well done Donut , and he dealt with the dog too my heart was in my mouth watching it ! .So looking forward to seeing more of your journey . Smashing it Evangeline fabulous riding ! xx

Omg, I had to pause after your show jumping round (which was great, by the way) to remark on how much the way you ride Donut, having to really use your upper body to slow him down and get him sitting back on his hind end reminds me SO much of the way I used to ride my late beloved show jumper, Sandor. He was a big chestnut gelding too, and the whole picture reminds me of watching my winning SJ rounds on my favorite jumper. It gave me a nice stroll down memory lane…❤). That was beautifully ridden!
you were both epic, Donut looked like a million bucks and wow he is loving this!! ears pricked throughout all the show jumping and x country. He is so so special!! that dog, wow horrible!!
Wow wow wow, the way you both fear nothing and attack and have fun!! He looked at nothing andstepped over them like sticks in the way. That boy, 5* potential all the way, both of you!!!! So proud for you. ❤❤
Im so impressed by you, your journey, Ive loved Donut from the start, i knew he had such scope.. That is so awful about the dog, how well you keep your cool, you are so authentic and calm and loving, BravO.. 🐎

YOU DID AMAZING! DONUT WAS BRILLIANT! Bad luck with the dog, but you coped well. AMAZING RUN! Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Loved it. Brilliant Donut, clever boy. I look forward to your next adventure!
Second viewing of your jumping and same feeling ... you 2 are headed for BIG things. Get out the bubble wrap and keep those feet sound. I am stoked to watch, feel like I have a great friend doing BIG inspiring things across the pond. Go E and D!!! All. The. WAY!
I am so mad about that dog! Who would bring a dog to an event that chases horses?? But you both handled it amazing and congrats on a wonderful show! I’ve very much enjoyed following your story.
Congratulations to you and Donut! What a superstar! Can't believe how calm you both were with that dog seriously quick thinking! Amazing in all three phases! I thought your dressage was brilliant and deserved a better score too! And you're not sad Evie! I prefer my Horse to parties too xxx

Wow what an absolute superstar. Definitely shows being a thoroughbred round that cross country. So forward thinking taking on all the questions!! Well done both of you. Never mind the £1 horse think he’s gonna be your up the levels horse!!
Congratulations on a fantastic performance at Badminton. Donut looked fantastic and jumped so well. His dressage is coming on and can’t wait for his next comp. You both dealt so well with that dog too and some great photos. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

You & Donut were amazing!! Watching your journey has been so much fun. And I have to say, I love the interaction between you & your mum. Ya'll are such a class act
Congratulations! 🎉 He is just the coolest boy round the xc, I cant believe how nonchalant both of you were about Loose Dog 😂 but just right not to let it overshadow his incredible performance! Pair of pros.
Wow congratulations loved this video, I’ve been eagerly waiting. And yeah the dog part was stressful even to watch but on slow mo how happy did it look chasing after a scrumptious doughnut 😹
Huge CONGRATULATIONS Evie & Donut 🎉🎉 A 5* performance from you both 👏 👏👏 Donut looked glorious (he glistened, also fab plaits & quarter-markings 🎉). Donut's confidence and intelligence, especially in the cross-country, were spectacular. You have truly done an excellent job with him, Evie, he trusts you & you make a wonderful partnership. A shout out to your awesome Mum & to all Team Evie - I loved watching your escapades. Definitely going to try banana fritters❤

Congratulations on your achievement! Very well handled with the dog, what a superstar horse you have! And don’t tell the others but Donut is by far the best looking horse on TH-cam, he wouldn’t look out of place stood next to all the 5* horses! 🥰
You guys handled that so beautifully! Making that cross country round look so easy! WOW! Wonderful team! And way to handle your composure and way through that all! So beautiful!
Wonderful job both of you! Handled all of the "tests" presented to you including the unplanned loose canine! That kind of issue truly tests the quality of your equine partner and Donut handled it beautifully. Hope that your plan to move up to 2* level comes quickly and without any incidents.
Awww, well done Evie and well done Donut! What an absolutely fabulous partnership you two are. Ditchy Donut is definitely well and truly gone watching him jump that trakehner! Loved the vlog and following your journey together from when you got him. Looking forward to seeing how far you can get together. I know he hasn't raced but does he qualify for RoR (just being in training can qualify them)? Just wondering because I believe next year there is a championship at Intermediate Novice for RoRs (with pretty hefty prize money), wouldn't he be be a great contender for that if he does qualify as an RoR.
Thank you, it’s so nice you’ve been able to be with us for the journey! I saw that event when it was announced a while back, I need to look at the rules as he never even went in to training due to being too clumsy 🙈 but he has got a Weatherby’s passport so I’ll need to see if we can enter with the rules etc x
@@ELSEventing I think I might be one of donuts biggest fans, I really enjoy watching your vlogs. I do hope our paths cross one day out on the circuit, I bet he looks even better in person than on the screen. On the RoR point, if he hasn't been in training I'm pretty sure he won't be eligible, unfortunately. I'm not an expert but I have looked at the rules a few years ago, not sure if they might have changed in those years. You could pop him in a point to point to try and qualify him. Given the prize money is £50k it might be worth it! x
Can't believe I haven't come across ELS eventing before! Absolutely loved the vlog.. you're so down to earth and relatable. He's worth a LOT more than £1 now, credit to you. My youngster is struggling with right canter transition but as you said with Donut, her right use to be her best canter and now it has switched. He LOVED the cross country, wow, its like he has done it all his life! Separate note, what do you use to pull his tail?
Oh and I use clippers on the sides of his tail 🙈 and use a smart grooming rake on the top! X One like this: smartgrooming.com/collections/smart-manes-tails-coats/products/smart-tails-standard-range x
Ah I thought everyone may be bored of the intro by now! I might pull it out again if we manage to enter a 2* at some point… You and nutty definitely matched! X
WOW, what an amazing cross country round you two did! Donut was SUCH a cool cucumber with the whole dog situation! Which brings me to a question - if a rider’s horse HAD been spooked and had additional time added or had a refusal due to an incident such as being chased by a loose dog, would the event organizers or jump stewards have given the horse/rider duo another chance to go through once the incident had been dealt with, or would they have just been like “tough luck”? It seems EXTREMELY unfair if something like the loose dog chasing the rider’s horse, which is entirely out of the rider’s control, had caused a serious problem for the horse and rider, resulting in time or jump refusal penalties (or worst case scenario, causing a horse to spook violently enough that the rider has a fall) and NOT been given another chance! I can’t believe that some idiot let their dog run loose on the cross country course! If Donut wasn’t such a good boy, that could have been a disaster! I seriously hope the owners of the loose dog were at least given a big fine. Despite the dog chasing Donut, you both looked absolutely EPIC around the course! I love that you got so much footage of the cross country; many other eventing vlog channels don’t manage to get much footage except for a few key spots on course and then if they get their EquiReel. But you guys had SO much great video of every jump from multiple angles, AND those pictures from the cross country are INCREDIBLE! I can’t decide which one I like the best! The broken bridge and the trakhener made for breathtaking pictures, as did the ditch and brush fence! Donut’s jumping skills really shine in the cross country phase. ❤ What a super horse with so much potential, and what great riding (and making last minute changes out of necessity!) on your part. Congratulations to you both on a successful performance at Badminton, and looking forward to seeing both of you progress to even higher levels. Good luck and best wishes from the U.S. 🇺🇸🏇🏿🐴❤
Congratulations!!! I love seeing your partnership. What would have happened if he didn't handle the dog so well? Could you have been eliminated or faulted even though it was out of your control?
If you can’t control your dog you shouldn’t bring it to these kind of events. Especially if it likes to chase horses. Glad you and Doughnut were able to keep your composure through that

On the RoR point, if he hasn't been in training I'm pretty sure he won't be eligible, unfortunately. I'm not an expert but I have looked at the rules a few years ago, not sure if they might have changed in those years. You could pop him in a point to point to try and qualify him. Given the prize money is £50k it might be worth it! x
He’s such a good boy!!
He definitely is! 🧡
Ah welcome to the family, so pleased you enjoyed the vlog! Good luck with your young horse 🥰
Oh and I use clippers on the sides of his tail 🙈 and use a smart grooming rake on the top! X

So sad we won’t see that intro anymore 😢 wow my orange hair is BRIGHT 😂😂😂😂 matching the ginger man himself ❤
Ah I thought everyone may be bored of the intro by now! I might pull it out again if we manage to enter a 2* at some point…
You and nutty definitely matched! X
Amazing 😍
I agree that dog was so irritating!!! Way to go! Thanks for sharing an amazing ride and experience 😁
Thanks for watching! Doney was a dude with the dog x
Congratulations!!! I love seeing your partnership. What would have happened if he didn't handle the dog so well? Could you have been eliminated or faulted even though it was out of your control?
