I have been following your show on TH-cam for years David, and I don't think what your doing is a waste of time. Yes, there is a large population of Republicans in the States, mostly attacking you out of ignorance or arrogance but most of the younger generation want change. Your shows really have a message which most younger people want, and as I see it we are trying to make the world a better place for our children, and not try to hold onto the failures of our past. You keep delivering your news and your insights. We need more people out there like you.

David, I'm a conservative on a lot of issues but I'm going to keep watching your videos as you seem to be one of the few people with a differing viewpoint that I can watch without thinking there is an ulterior motive. Great video and good job on the show.
Also, it is worth it. You haven't converted me but I'm at least listening. Alternative conservative media has been successful precisely because they do go into hostile territory and try to be heard. If you think what you're saying is important for our nation then you have to go into these echo chambers and give them a different viewpoint.

Why is it that concervatives also have to anounce what they are and that they do not agree with insert number of thing. And then always start talking about converting like everything is about winning souls for some ideas or ideologies. To end then with saying that they like listning because at least whatever left leaning person it is about makes properly articulated arguments without pushing some agenda?
I really wonder why that anouncement is so important to make sure nobody god forbid thinks you are affiliated with anything leftleaning. and why are only "concervatives" so obsesed with labeling ideas and thoughts and see it as a special happening that they listnen to someone who doesn't share their ideas exactly.

I announced my political leanings in the hope that people in the comments section would engage with me on issues that we may agree/disagree on. For example, I think welfare programs absolutely have a place in our government and a social safety net is well worth the tax burden. I'm a former member of the US Army and I believe we spend too much on the military. Our healthcare system is ass backwards and needs drastic reform. When Republicans say they want to repeal and replace "Obamacare", I agree with them. I don't think I agree on the final outcome they want, but our current system saw a faster increase in rates than before Obamacare was passed. I have numbers if you would like them and I will cite sources for anything you would like a source on. Personally, I think a single payer option would do wonders for us. That's a whole complex issue that I'd be willing to elaborate on if you'd like. Where "liberals/leftists" lose me is when they push for open borders, more federal power, abolishing certain checks and balances in our government, and massive wealth redistribution.
So, I announce that I'm conservative in this presumably liberal space as a challenge but also as an acknowledgement that we can't be tied to one group of ideas representing a political platform as if somehow everyone fits into that neat little box. I also do it to hopefully lend weight to the idea that he is reaching out to the people that need it most. People who exist solely on a diet of corporate mass media. CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc... None of these agencies operate in good faith.
As far as conservatives thinking it's a special occurrence that they listen to diverging viewpoints, the evidence bears that out. I believe Jack Dorsey admitted that conservative journalists on Twitter were essentially following people from across the political spectrum during the 2016 election. Meanwhile liberal journalists were only following each other.
I would love to be able to change the hearts and minds of people across the country. That just isn't in the cards. But exposing people to differing ideas is a way to prevent radicalization, that's a certainty. Voluntarily exposing oneself to new ideas, especially uncomfortable ones, is a way to keep your arguments sharp.
It could also just be a little bit of virtue signalling. If it is sue me.

And not all on the left want more federal power and wealth redistribution. The left is just as divided and diverse in ideas and opinions on the right. As well as a lot of clueless people who have no idea of what the things they say/want would mean and cause socially and econimicly.
Just as on the right, there are only a few people worth listning to, and most democrats do not fall into that catagory.
Mainly because liberalism isn't a leftwing political movement but rather a center right one. And most democrats are liberals, they basicly adopt the worst things from both sides and leave out the good stuff both sides have to offer. They really seem to be lost completely imho.

It basicly frames the following conversation in a certain way before it is even started. And i wonder why that is done as it is certainly not nescesary to exchange ideas or have a discussion, it can even prevent open discussion.

To all those saying that this is an echo chamber as well, you are probably right! That’s why I follow Fox News and Alex jones as well (even though it gets REALLY hard watching some of their theatrics). After listening to main points from all sides, I usually make up my mind.

What was not pertinent to the questions asked? What FACTS did he get wrong? What diminishes "progressives" for outside observers is when factions of personality led cliques within the movement try to score points by knocking someone else down. The movement has enough room for everyone and will be far more effective when supportive inclusivity is emraced.

I wouldn't want to get into an argument with David Pakman. He is a whole lot smarter than those two guys.
I would, just not in the topic of politic, may be quantumn physics or computer science.

People like those two guys and their followers would never be able to discern Mr. Pakman's intellect and sophistication. They would not even recognize that he won a point, any point. Therefore, I'm not sure it's worth his time and effort to try to engage these types and their followers. They are too far gone and unable to see clearly. And some among them are a threat not only to Mr. Pakman, but to the rest of us and to the existence of our country.
I don't know how we deal with them other than to try to do things that benefit the country as a whole. They've never said what they want or how their lives need to be made better. It's just all about hatred which points to white supremacy only. They just could not stand that a Black man got to be president so now they are up in arms, literally, and blind rage that they might no longer be the chosen ones.

Even if someone doesn’t listen, and continues not listening for years, one day, when they hear actual facts from another source, they can say, ‘Oh yeah, years ago on Fox I heard someone say something like that from that real pale non-pumkin guy’ and the fact there was another point in their rhetoric they can reference will be something they can draw on. If they *never* hear anything but the echo chamber stuff, it’s impossible to even imagine any other possibility. So, two years late, I say yes, it has to be worth it (however, wear a browning foundation so their blue lights don’t vampire you! 🧛♂️)

Most progressives are realists. Its part of why the Republicans and even many Democrats have trouble dealing with progressive ideals -- they all think they live in some magic world where all economics and politics can be summed up in a 100-level college course. Progressives prefer to recognize that assumptions like "rational actors" and "informed voters" don't really pan out as well in the real world as they do in your textbook's two-product, two-person world.

No. disbelief ensued, the fact that a US President even met with Kim Jong-un was an accomplishment.
The silence was due to the realisation that Pakman was serious, which, understandably, threw them off their thought train.
The problem is that Pakman's ideology is so firmly rusted on, that he is biased without even knowing it, this interview proves that, he simply could not give Trump any credit for anything, and even started out with a insult, referring to Trumps, "easily manipulable reality", prior to the showing of the interview, he complains about not having the opportunity to have an in depth conversation, yet HE starts off with an insult directed at the subject of the conversation????
The 'right wing' guest started with a criticism of Trumps soft stance with Putin, and the Host agreed with him, so they were not simply flag waving for Trump, they didn't start defending Trump until Pakman started with the insults and the claim that Trumps Nth Korean meetings were, essentially, futile.
I'm no Trump supporter but it's becoming blatantly obvious to anyone with any semblance of objectivity that the 'left' has simply lost the plot when it comes to Trump, and that's why more and more people are turning their backs on that side of the philosophical fence.

I watched this program while I was at Planet Fitness yesterday. David, I believe you did a good job on your part. I was just annoyed that Vittert and Giordano kept interrupting you whenever you spoke. Seeing someone who's a voice of reason on Fox "News" felt like a breath of fresh air.

Their view is after Armageddon the earth will be transformed, and everyone Jehovah's witness will be brought back to life and animals will talk and be our friends, and we can build our own houses and have a new beginning and every one can live happily ever after! Oh and the only people they are really openly willing to help is other Jehovah's Witnesses. I know this doesn't have anything to do with what we where talking about lol. I guess it kind of does, my family is delusional to lol. God, I don't know if your religious so I don't want to insult you, but god damn. The things people are willing to believe is absolutely insane. It astonishes me. Over 40,000 different religions and cults in the world and every one of them believes they are right... I've watched Bill Maher interview a far right guest and I clearly remember his audience booing his guest. Maher stopped, stood up, faced the audience and addressed them directly. Maher told his audience, "This is my show and you will show my guests respect." Stephen Colbert did the same thing for one of his conservative guests. I can't see Fox hosts doing that for anyone. To be fair, I can't see CNN doing that either. How sad that hosts of comedy talk shows show more respect for people than actual news anchors.

Case in point, you were able to make an excellent point at 10:14 when they show Trump blaming the DNC for getting hacked, you replied: “the idea here, is that if you are a victim of hacking, it's the fault of the victim, when you don’t want to blame that party who did the hacking, is absolutely hilarious…and anybody who doesn’t see the absurdity of that on its face (it’s going to be very hard to actually engage on the facts when it comes to that).” I couldn't imagine they expected such an eloquent response. If the attack was only spear phishing attack then yes the victim bares some of the responsibility for the attack because they were an active member on giving up their information. This was largely done probably by getting them to download some malicious software or going to a fake site. This is why you have security training. I would not consider phishing hacking but more social engineering because it relies on hoping someone else will give you the keys to kingdom through their actions.

About the embassy on Jerusalem, that was an historic faux pas, decimating US credibility as a mediator, and I'm confident that the time will prove me right.
