These people are not the smartest. Couple people tried rob my BJJ instructor. He was purple belt back then and also a Muya Thai practitioner. Not tall, but muscular guy with cauliflower ears and bald hair. The wanna-be robbers were 3-4 of them and not big either. He couldn’t believe his eyes there were picking on him out of all the people out there. He started laughing at them and told to them to look for easier targets. They ran away...
it reminds me of the story of the soldiers who picked a fight with Bas even though people told them "dude, not that guy"

The person who dislikes this video is one of the two guys who tried to mug Renzo.
I trained a bit with Renzo, and he's a terrific guy. Kudos to him for keeping his cool when the robbery began, since no martial art beats a loaded gun. I think he felt a little insulted when he found they were unarmed. Congratulations to him for giving those creeps a good lesson in manners.

Love it! That video would've went viral! Props to Renzo for not running when he could. I was walking by myself late night in the red light district in Amsterdam and 8 black guys started walking up behind me so I walked faster and I heard some laughing whispers as they immediately sped up. So I start jogging and they start jogging, I start sprinting and one of them starts sprinting and catches up instantly but is too skinny to want to engage. So as the others start to catch up I start screaming(at 2am). Help! Police! Gun, gun gun! Lights are turning on everywhere and all the guys stop chasing me and pleading with me to stop yelling. I told them to turn around and we were good. My goal was to get to the canal and make them watch me drown their skinny friend while they decided to jump into the cold water. But we all got lucky and I walked back to my room.

This is a cool story... good/bad thing it happened in the hood, because I've read according to the law if you choke hold someone on the street it can buy you an "attempted murder" charge.
Also, according to the law if you hunt someone down to attack them that can be considered "stalking" and "pre-meditated assault/murder."

20 years ago I bumped into a guy in a bar in Australia . I'm 6'4", 243 , he was like 6'3 , big and mean looking. I was going to say something aggressive or punch him, but...I remember I saw his picture that morning on the newspaper. So I offered to buy him a drink.

I'm very impressed with his street wise-dom. He knows the tactics of the street. This explains alot. It explains why Jujitsu survived to this day, when its direct descendant Judo is only a faded memory of feudal Japan.
It doesn't explain anything about Judo or Jujitsu, it just shows that the guy is streetwise because he's spent time in rough neighbourhoods in Brazil. The fact that he also knows jujitsu is separate from his knowledge of the tactics that muggers use in the streets.

What Renzo says he allegedly did here is NOT wise. It's arrogant gambling. Street smart people dont have time to Tweet or stick around to wait for weapons...or to let someone try to rob you. People conceal weapons! Leave a situation like this as fast as possible!! A point.bkank gunshot or hidden razor or improvised hidden weapon in scuffle could have ended Renzo's life. Looking for the guy at another corner is stupid as well, because others could have ambushed him with weapons...and/or witnesses got him charged as an agressor in court. This story he's telling may not be 100% true..he could be embellishing the tale.

I love it, but, The guy he chased down could have got a gun in the meantime. You never know. It happened to me when I stopped a guy form beating his girlfriend. He went back to his apartment, and when he started beating his woman again up the street, I ran up there and he pulled a gun on me.

Came out of Renzos one day after training and a couple street guys were starting static with some of our kickboxing brothers from the gym...until they realized what business they were standing in front of. 😘Then they took off real quick....Lol. To our credit....everyone was real chill. No voices even raised on our part. It’s was just funny as hell. Wrong place fellas.....wrong place. 😂
