Ah I love that pink fabric for your mother’s trousers! Yes, a little tee (or two) to go with it in a bright colour too. What a lovely surprise for her!
Love the look of the Holland Park dress! It’ll look fab on you. A Donny shirt as pj top is genius!!!! That set will be gorgeous What funky trousers for your mum!’ They look like so much fun ❤❤
Jumpsuit fabric is lovely & look forward to seeing you wear it. The material for the pjs looks like colours of the rainbow & I agree with your suggestion of the white ribbing-that will look great. Re the trousers you are making for your mum, would love to see some photos of her wearing them - I think she is going to be so chuffed with them. Re your whips, how about John’s shirt, that would be a lovely surprise for him. I have to admit I have just as many as you have to sew up! Re sewing, made really simple bits re bibs & burp clothes for three different people + more Safia trousers & about to made a baby bag for one person, just waiting for the foam interfacing to arrive. Thank you Angela, another really enjoyable video.❤
Hi Angela, great vlog as always :) Please may I make a suggestion that for the Plymouth Frocktails? How about having a table exclusively for those attending alone - so that we get a chance to meet other people attending alone - rather than feeling worried about sitting on a table full of people that already know one another? I've already bought a ticket and I know there's a lady below who has bought a ticket too - we're both going alone.
Heya - that is a great idea - however we are not going to have set tables as such, as it will be a buffet style, and very relaxed. We are going to organise an afternoon pre meet up too, so lots of opportunities for people to meet and mingle. Lizzy and I will make sure that no one is left on their own 😊 However, I am glad that you have mentioned about going alone, and I will have a chat with Lizzy and see if we can organise some sort of virtual meet up, or chat for those going alone prior to the event. The main thing is - please don't worry - I have gone to things like this before alone - and it's how I met lots of new people and made great friends 🥰
Great vlog as always. Looking forward to seeing your Holland dress. I start making summer makes after Christmas but still sew a few summer makes if inspired by new patterns etc. already sewn a winter top already ❤❤
I’m with you on starting each season earlier 😊. I always run out of time to sew everything I wanted to sew. The summer has not been great here in west Cornwall anyway. I really wanted to sew up a shorts and shirt co-or set which I’ve decided to do anyway this weekend and hopefully I can get it finished for the 1 hot day next week 😂. Then autumn plans I think and I already have 2 already cut out before time ran out for that season, so no excuses! x
Have bought my ticket for Frocktails😀. Have often seen vlogs about these events and been envious - delighted we now have one in the southwest - well done Angela.
How lovely that you're making those trousers for your mum - hope she'll love the 'holiday' fabric! Don't worry about not constantly whipping up new makes - we can only wear so many clothes and I think you have a lovely handmade wardrobe. I often wonder where some vloggers keep all their makes and how often they actually wear them - I know I don't have the space to store endless makes! 😄 Thanks for keeping it real! xx
Great video, I've just finished my second Elodie dress, almost finished a skirt, cut a similar dress to the Nell dress and cut an apron out for my son in law xx
I have been working on The Wardrobe by Me - Cargo pants and it’s been challenging to say the least, I put the zip and out 7 times as it just didn’t seem to work and I had a piece that was left over that I couldn’t find any mention of in the instructions. In the end went to the tried and true Megan Neilson Dawn jeans and put the zip in that way…. Anyway enough about me. Just love that red fabric from your covid stash, it will be beautiful
Oh my goodness - that’s frustrating when things like that happen 😞. Glad you found a solution with the dawn jeans - I’m really looking forward to making these too. Aahh thank you - I can’t wait to make them xx
I love the jumpsuit Angela, can't wait to see how the finished garment looks on you. How lovely of you to sew all those trousers for your Mum on her cruise. I love the bright fabric, that will make gorgeous holiday pants, I'm sure your Mum will too, what a fabulous surprise 😊❤. Looking forward to seeing your Holland dress too. Thanks for another great vlog 😀
Absolutely love the Lockhart jumpsuit the fabric looks gorgeous. I’m also toying with the idea of making the Holland dress it will definitely be my last summer make as I have already purchased five autumn winter fabrics which I want to make over the next few weeks. I always start my summer makes in February/ march we tend to go for an extended holiday at the end of may so it kind of dictates that I need to have my summer clothes ready. I can then just enjoy wearing them and making a few more garments during summer but it also allows me to think about what I want to make for the autumn/ winter . I’m loving your Fridays sews they are always inspirational. Happy sewing
Well lately I’ve been sewing bears, bears and more bears lol. I really want to make the Holland Park dress too and love your Lockhart jumpsuit, so will look at that as an alternative to the new look 6446, even though I have plans to make that again to replace my viscose version that ripped. I think Ellen will love the dawns over the landers. Fab idea using the Donny for your pj too too. Hoping I can return to sewing for “me” soon!!!! Xxx
I defo think you should give the Lockhart a go - even if it is just as a comparison- I think you’ll love it. Yes I agree I do think the dawns will be a better option for Ellen. Yessss! You need to do some “me” sewing soon! Thank you 🥰❤️❤️❤️
What a fabulous Friday sews. So fab to see what you’ve been up to. I’m soooo excited about Plymouth Frocktails, it sounds like you and Lizzie have been working super hard. Can’t wait to see what WIP you make up. I’m going to vote now. Lots of love ❤
Oh my goodness that’s amazing - please don’t worry, we will all have chance to meet, mingle and get to know people. Aaahh that’s so fantastic - thank you 🥰❤️
I’m a little bit worried about buying a ticket too cause I think I’ll be by myself aswell 😢 where abouts are u hun cause maybe we could meet up if that’s ok with u plz I’m from the North East xx
@@foxynannabev aaahh please don’t be worried about meeting up - we will have lots of opportunities during the day to meet up - and for people to have a chat etc 🥰❤️
I love the fabric you made the Lockhart in and can’t wait to see them finished. If Ellen has her heart set on rainbow topstitching, you can thread your machine with 2 threads going into the needle to create a thicker thread which will work a treat. Instead of buying two spoons of thread, wind a bobbin and put it on your other thread holder on your machine. I reckon your mum’s going to the bright holiday pants 😊
Hi Angela. You get so much done! I always look forward to your videos coming out. I can’t wait to see your Mom’s pants. I know she will be thrilled. If you make her a tee she could wear it with any of the pants/trousers. I always loved making things for my mom. Have a great weekend! ❤ Diann
Aaahh that's so kind of you - thank you so much. I'm hoping I may even have enough of each fabric to make a top in all 3?!?! I'll have to wait and see when I cut them out. Thank you 🥰
Love your lock heart jumpsuit Angela, fingers crossed for the big fireball throwing some heat out 🤞 I think your mum will really appreciate you choosing a holiday appropriate fabric 🥰😍👌
Thanks for the shout out Angela ❤ I've just bought my frocktails Plymouth ticket woop woop, how exciting! I'm exactly the same with summer makes, I get organised way too late 😂
You are so welcome! I hope it goes really well - I’m definitely going to make an afternoon tea dress of some description! Aahh I’m so excited that you’re coming - thank you so much ☺️ ❤️

My friend and I are actually planning to go for afternoon tea at a restaurant in a nearby city in October. Now i can make something to wear and also enter a challenge. So many ideas swirling around in my head. The red viscose will look so pretty on you. In the past week I've made 2 tops, similar to the Donny Shirt, but it's a pattern from 1980. The first one is made from a block print in blue shades, the second one I used Hawaiian fabric that has lovely greens, orange and pink on a very light biege background. That fabric is actually from Hawaii, bought for me by a bride, on her honeymoon, in exchange for wedding alterations. Great idea buying cheap fabric fot toiles. I use thrifted sheets. My granddaughter has asked me to make her a bomber jacket using fabric from my stash. It was fun taking pics of different fabrics and texting them to her. She knew I was trying to organize the stash, so it was great to actually have exactly what she wanted. I'm using McCalls 7637. The only fabric i don't have is the knit banding. I think your mom will love the print fabric, she can match it up with so many different colours of tops. How do I access the community page?
Aaahh that is so fab - I hope you have a lovely time with your friend - and making something lovely for yourself. That is so amazing to make a Hawaii shirt from actual Hawaii fabric - I love that ❤️ Good luck with the bomber jacket If you click on my channel name - there are a few tabs across the top, video, playlists etc, and the end one is the community tab - hope that helps Thank you 🥰
I've spent the last few weeks procrastinating 😂 however I've got next week off work to do lots of overdue gardening, tidying & decorating etc, so for every job I get done I'll reward myself with sewing time! Hopefully I'll be really motivated and productive 😂🤔🤣
Aahh have a fab week off - hope you get lots done. I procrastinate all the time - I find making a list helps me! Love to tick things off lol 😂 Thank you 🥰❤️
I love my donny pjs. I made a few errors while sewing it up and it got caught in the overlocker but it is an easy sew. I got it sewn up over a couple of evenings. The Lockhart jumpsuit looks fab xx
Love your vlogs Angela. Whenever I start to lose my sewjo, you re inspire me. I’m definitely going to copy your idea with the calico but couldn’t find the Amazon link. Is it possible to add it now? I’m looking forward to seeing all of your makes.
Aaahh that is so kind of you - thank you so much. I totally forgot to add it - but it is on there now, and here for you too, sorry about that 🙈 Thank you ☺️ www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BZXJXKB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
Good luck with the Frocktails arrangements, Angela! I wish I could attend - but the air tickets from South Africa might make it a tiny bit pricey 😂😂 The top stitching dilemma you mentioned with your daughter's jeans - I recently had a similar problem which I solved by threading two strands of the sew-all thread through a top stitching needle and it works like a charm! It was a hack I got off TH-cam.
My goodness me - yes just a bit of a big trip from South Africa!! 😂 and very expensive 🙈 Oohh I love that tip - I’ll give it a go see how it looks. Thank you so much 🥰❤️
The floral fabric is perfect for a holiday and I hope your mum will like it. I used a bright rainbow leaves print fabric to test fit trousers, but just made shorts and love them. I almost always sew for spring and summer because I live in Florida, but have started thinking about fall makes. I’m looking forward to seeing your makes. Happy sewing, Angela.
Thank you - I am so sorry I forgot to add it. it is now in the description - and here is the link for you too. Thank you 🥰 www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BZXJXKB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
went to hobby craft for some elastic !, saw the crafty pie fabric the flora jerseys and bought 2 mtrs of each . glad i didn’t see the checked fabric i think it was a good job. might have to go back. ps i did buy elastic too.😊
I like your ufo/wip bags, where did you get them? I’ve bought similar but not in the U.K. you’re inspiring me to get through my unfinished ones too 😊 thank you 😊

I’m currently sewing a Donny shirt out of some pretty cotton lawn. It’s light enough for our current summer weather but will be fine with a sweater when fall arrives. I just got the Nell dress pattern so am hoping to get that cut out this weekend - I have some lovely coral linen to make it out of. And then I really should go through my knit stash and make some sweaters - I do live in Canada and it’ll be cold before we know it! Always enjoy your vlogs and seeing what you’re up to!
Oh wow you have some lovely projects there. Gosh I bet it gets really cold in Canada in the winter! Happy sewing and knitting, and thank you so much for watching 🥰❤️
Gosh. I totally relate to being precious about fabrics even if they’re not expensive. It’s one reason I don’t sew!! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. I just keep adding to the stash… 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Oh why do we do it - lol!!! Right - if I can use a precious fabric - so can you, go on, love wearing the fabric instead of just looking at it 😉 Thank you 🥰
@@DevonThreadTales that is a great way of looking at it… but only if I make a decent job of any makes .. 😂🙄😬 .. only practice makes perfect … in the meantime I’ve just added to Liberty stash today 😬😬
Hiya Angela love the Lock Heart Jumpsuit 🥰 another pattern to add to my list lol 😂 I couldn’t find the Amazon link for the Calico fabric hun 😞 can u give it to me please 🤞🏻 love the fabric u’ve got for ur Mam 😁 can u put a link for Andrea’s website plzzzz hun 🤞🏻 & I’m the same with my summer plans lol 😆 & don’t get most of them made 🙄 I must get better organised & bringing out a make plans video is a fantastic idea 👍🏻 & can’t wait to watch it 😁 oh & plzzzz can I ask if that’s ok what do u mean when u say ur daughter has a sway back plzz 🤔 great video really enjoyed it hun so thank u 🙏 so much xx
Aaahh thank you so much ☺️ I've now added the link for the calico - totally forgot 🙈 but here is the link for you too : www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BZXJXKB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title Here is the link for Andrea's website too : www.beyondthepinkdoor.com/en-gb So sway back means that there is a bit of curvature from waist to hip, and sometimes people get a little gap at the back of their trousers. It means a smaller waist and possibly a bit of a juicier 🍑 😂🙈 Hope that helps Thanks you so much again 🥰
I always love your vlogs (not logs as it just autocorrected to 😂). One made the Holland Park and really did not enjoy the process. Bec said it was really straightforward but I think she used bias binding instead of self-fabric for the channels. I think that’s the way to go. Mine frayed loads, I had a hole in the channel where it had frayed or not caught in the overlocker, i think my channels weren’t even, despite me painstakingly measuring… It got thrown across the room at one point into the naughty corner. Might have been in the wrong frame of mind too. After all that effort, husband said I looked like a milkmaid. I don’t think he was keen. I wore liked the shape and I think it’ll really suit you.
Oh noooo!!! Aahh that doesn’t sound good - I’m so sorry you had this trouble. I will bare all of this in mind as I’m sewing it - thanks for the heads up 🥰❤️
I’m the same if something doesn’t go how I want it to I get really frustrated & fling it across the room then I’ll start it again a few days later with fresh ideas 😀 & sorry but it made me laugh 😂 so much about what ur hubby said 🤣🤣 xx
The amazon link for white calico doesn't work - can you give more info/accurate link because there's an awful lot to choose from and I'd prefer to be guided by your recc. Thanks. Hope your mum likes the jazzy trouser fabric - very holiday approp!
Oh my goodness I totally forgot - I’ve added it now, but here it is too - sorry about that! www.amazon.co.uk/your-orders/pop?ref=ppx_yo2ov_mob_b_pop&orderId=203-9635593-3337953&lineItemId=mhkgtuhsmplouoy&shipmentId=D2bY0XGm1&packageId=1&asin=B08BZXJXKB

Aahh how fantastic. The shorts sound great. 😊
Thank you so much - that’s so kind of you 🥰❤️
Hi Angela Could you please, in your next vlog, give us the info on your white calico toile fabric? I presume it's a cheap option.❤😂❤
Thank you - I am so sorry I forgot to add it. it is now in the description - and here is the link for you too.
Thank you 🥰

I'm going on a cruise in 4 weeks, I'll be looking for the trousers 😂
Oh how funny - can you imagine if you did see them - what would be the chances - lol!

@@DevonThreadTales 🙏thank you for sharing the link 😊. Fab! Now I’ll try and keep up with you 🤣🤣🤣( if only!! … no chance!!)
Great vlog, Angela. I love the Lockhart, it looks awesome. I would love to be at Plymouth Frocktails... just a bit too far from New Zealand 😂.
Oh wow!!! Yes - just a bit far - bless you.
Thank you 🥰❤️
I’m currently sewing a Donny shirt out of some pretty cotton lawn.
Right - if I can use a precious fabric - so can you, go on, love wearing the fabric instead of just looking at it 😉
Thank you 🥰
@@DevonThreadTales that is a great way of looking at it… but only if I make a decent job of any makes .. 😂🙄😬 .. only practice makes perfect … in the meantime I’ve just added to Liberty stash today 😬😬
Everything you make is beautiful.. I vote for the shirt for your hubbie next
Thank you so much ☺️
Love the jumpsuit. Wish I could join you in Plymouth but I don't have plans to visit again at the moment.
Aahh maybe next time! Thank you 🥰❤️
I’ve got my frocktails ticket 🎉 💃🏼 👗👏👏

So sway back means that there is a bit of curvature from waist to hip, and sometimes people get a little gap at the back of their trousers. It means a smaller waist and possibly a bit of a juicier 🍑 😂🙈
Hope that helps
Thanks you so much again 🥰
My friend and I are planning to go out to a tea
Aaahh how lovely 🥰
First like! But I confess I should be washing my dishes😅Thanks Angela❤
😂😂😂 ha ha love this - Thank you 🥰❤️
I always love your vlogs (not logs as it just autocorrected to 😂).
@@foxynannabev glad it’s not just me. Just read back what I wrote and what a mess of typos! Glad to have raised a smile too.
@@DevonThreadTales I’m sure yours will go swimmingly! And the design will be lovely on your fab figure!
The amazon link for white calico doesn't work - can you give more info/accurate link because there's an awful lot to choose from and I'd prefer to be guided by your recc. Thanks. Hope your mum likes the jazzy trouser fabric - very holiday approp!
Aaahh I'm so sorry - hopefully this one will work!
Thank you ☺️

a quick question, how do I find the community tab?
Hia - if you click on to my channel by tapping my name under the video you will see a few tabs across the screen, that say:

Community. Just click this one and you should see it 🥰 hope that helps x
@@DevonThreadTales I've found it and voted, thanks
Could use rainbow thread and a straight triple stitch instead of heavy duty.??
Great idea - Thank you 🥰❤️
