Been stacking since 2008-2009. Never stacked many ASE's until recently after I've seeen what people were willing to pay, as of late. Wasn't the first time it happened, just the biggest. These days, I am stacking a lot of Eagles and I talk about it on my channel and this is why. Some think I'm nuts. Others, the ones paying attention to the Mint dropping the production ball time and time again, and watching what folks will pay at such time, get it. When it happens again, as history tends to repeat, I'll dump 50% of them. and get a lot of "free metals" in the stack.
The silver eagle coin ruined its reputation with stackers when premiums reached insane levels. Many new stackers bought large quantities of eagles when premiums were 15 to 20 dollars over spot. In all probability these stackers will never be able to recover from this bad timing decision they made. Silver eagles are not a rare bullion coin. Plus, in order to sell a silver eagle it needs to be in perfect condition and in tubes of the same date. No toning or milk spots. Silver eagles dont stay in perfect condition even if stored in tubes in a safe. They get toned. Once this happens the dealer will no longer pay the premium you expected. The bullion needs to be in BU condition. Better to buy generic. Never pay high premiums. Never listen to dealer advice on what to buy also. Listen to experienced stackers. Never over pay for eagles.
The only way to get American silver eagle is if you pay what is asked. America is the world's super power. Who want to say deny me that. They are not high now.
True stackers want the most bang for their buck. You don't get that with ASEs. The premiums are too high. One channel did a comparison of buying ASEs compared to generic and detailed how much you spend when buying and make when selling. You're better off with generic from that standpoint and from the weight standpoint.
There's a strong argument to be made for maximizing return on investment with lower premiums. ASEs have a couple features (that we highlight in the video) that make them appealing for certain types of investment strategies. But there are many viable strategies when investing precious metals, as you pointed out. Cheers!
The 2023 ASEs milk spot. The U.S Mint is a dumpster fire now and it’s embarrassing. Example the gold Bristled Pine and the 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollar releases. Silver Maples are 9999 fine and don’t milk spot.
Agree 1000%. I have so many Maples (silver & gold... who else makes five 9s gold coins from time to time???) it would be worth my while to travel 2 days to The Great White North to unload them. That's IF I wanted to sell. When the gold/silver ratio heads below 70, my lcs gladly takes my silver RCM coins and gives me gold in exchange. The US Mint has screwed us collectors one too many times IMHO...
it uncontested they have an value but between metal , securities , its a really inflated value and from a usa business i see huge favoritism in that opinion ... i say Britannia and maples should n do out shine the eagle .. way better designer and securities even price and better liquidity
They are the biggest waste of money! The premium that you have to pay to get eagles you’ll never get that out of the silver eagle because they are so mass-produced, it’s disgusting! You are better off buying silver rounds and saving at least four dollars an once on the premium. Besides, there are more refined, silver, monetary or bullion, such as the Canadian maple that doesn’t milky spot like the silver eagle! Don’t waste money🤯🤯🤯🤔🤔🤔🤔
Please smile more, you are a nice looking fellow. Your info and videos are helpful and this is only a suggestion to make them better! Have a great week.
I REFUSE to buy American Silver Eagle’s! The premium on them is ridiculous, and if/when you go to sell them you would be lucky to get $1 more then a regular silver round. I can get tubes of coins from different countries and Not loose out if/when I sell.. It doesn’t matter when I sell them, I WILL LOOSE MONEY..
But this is no good reason to buy a silver eagle or the Canadian maple or any other silver coin over a a round the premiums on these coins are entirely too high I Do by the coins I like but that's the only reason the ones I don't plan on selling unless silver Rises dramatically I buy 9999
A certain amount of my silver will be buried with me as a matter of fact. Why? Nobody will pay me what I paid for them like my numismatics.
The mint needs to fix the milkspot problem before I can get into silver eagles.

Premium + Shipping, another word for a Tax on top of Tax. 🤔
Yeah, but 33.5% premium??

Buy junk silver at spot and save some worthless dollars.
