Let me commend you on a video well done, straight to the point, precise in explaining, and clean. There's nothing more infuriating than these "How To" videos posted by teens wherein they tell you the entire life story of the makeup before they ever get to the point of repairing it. Life is too short to have someone waste the first 3 minutes of it on where they got it, where they carry it, how it broke, how it made them feel, blahblahblah. I've lost so many hours of my life with that! Thank you!
Omg thanks ! I thought only rubbing alcohol work (I don't have rubbing alcohol) but I tried Brandy and it worked perfectly fine and is still the same as before ! thanks so much Klaire ! You're amazing xx
I have one of those pallets too. When it arrived in the mail I just dumped the cracked eyeshadow! I wish I would have saw this vid first. This is definitely going in my favorites!
Im not quite sure what you mean by household rubbing alcahol....if it's just alcahol then yes (kinda like the alcahol they use on the continent to disinfect cuts) Basicly bear in mind that what ever you mix with your eyeshadow/powder will go on your face/eyes so stay away from anything that has chemicals in it) I hope that helped:)
Omg Klaire this is EXACTLY what I need! My eyeshadow break all the time cause im always on the go and dropping my purse and such so my makeup gets a beating. It's annoying ot keep replacing it when it's almost brand new so you just saved me like $50-$75 a month!
My favourite bronzer shattered in the pan last time I travelled! I'll definitely try this. The pan shape is a small square, so should I just use a thick piece of card wrapped in cloth to press down with? It'll be difficult to find something hard that's the exact size and shape. PS. This is a good excuse to buy vodka haha!
Oh my gosh they look so much like the original look of the makeup! But i have a question, will the alcohol affect the purity of the makeup? Will it alter the color or the pigmentation of the eyeshadows? Will it still adhere to the skin as good as when it hasn't been mixed with alcohol?
Thank you for posting this! I kind of made the mistake of grinding up an eyeshadow under the silly idea that it would work like a powdered eyeshadow... That didn't work so well... At all... But now I can repair what I destroyed ^_^ Do you have any tips for eyeshadows that just don't seem to want to be used? Like they're kind of too hard... O.o
That was really helpful, thank you! I just bought a 120 palette and it arrived with one of the shadows smashed to bits. I don't drink, so I think I'll be heading to Boots to try to get some alcohol.
I love that as well as the branded makeup you also have the cheap 88/120 eyeshadow palette from ebay. So many tutorial places only use the best of the best when it comes to makeup and when you aren't rich but want a large choice of colours you don't have the option of using high end makeup products and the cheaper ones work the same even if the pigmentation isn't quite as strong, I love my pallete even if it does make me look like a cheapskate lol
Awesome idea:) Almost everyone of my eyeshadows is broken, so I can start saving all of them now :P I was just wondering: what is the purpose of putting the cloth in alcohol?
If it means anything, I LOVE your voice. after watching your videos I even tend to pick up your accent a bit, considering I live in the U.S. and speak pretty differently xD
I woudl have thought so...just basicly bear in mind that what ever you use will go on your face so dont use anything that has chemicals in it:) I hope that helped:)
I have a few broken eyeshadows. Some r in single compacts but I mostly have broken shadows in palettes. I tried fixing one but I didn't break it up nor smooth it out. 😕. Do u think I could re-break it and then do it the way u did to fix broken powder makeup? Please let me know. I really need to fix it. Thank you 😊
hi guys,, this proceed only works with eyeshadow? cause i have a press powder that is so beautiful ... but is broken :( thanks a lot! your video is very very nice :)
Thank You! You literally just saved my favorite eyeshadow! ..it was a bit tricky with a square, but I cut a piece of an itunes card to make it work. ;)
Yes you can use rubbing alcohol. And the coin you use is the one that fits your eyeshadow. EnKore has a vid on this too with rubbing alcohol....and without breaking up the whole eyeshadow which might be easier but I haven't tried this one
does this method work well with any type of eye-shadow? because i saw a tutorial similar to this one and they said there, that it doesn't work on shimmery eye-shadows..
Hi, I have a little problem. My powder is broken and we dont have some vodka or rubbing alcohol at home. BUT we have aquavit and cognac. Can that be used?
Im so stupid, i didnt have any eyeshadow broken when i got it in the mail, but now i dropped the palette and i broke 2 eyeshadows :S We dont have rubbing alcohol in Finland, so can i use 37% alcohol?
Do u think i could use water? Or rybbing alcohol, because i dont think my parents will let me use alcohol, and i can find anything to fit in it because, it is a blush.?!?? What should i do
@loloonmara u can just buy rubbing alcohol, like the one used in cleaning wounds instead of drinking alcohol it's the same thing. like what she said she didn't have any other alcohol except for vodka.
@lalalaladontburnurha Don't know if anyone replied to this.. But in case some were wondering.. You don't want to use alcohol that is sweetened in any way.. Thus Mojito mix or wine would not work. Beer wouldn't work either. I'd suggest shelling out a dollar and buying some rubbing alcohol.
I find it interesting that you recommend not to use your fingers, but then you use a coin which passes from hand to hand and lots of germs. Maybei t's cuz I don't like coins. Can you recommend using something else?

I used it on my bronzing powder too ! It was so expensive that's why I had to find a way to save it, it really work guys !
I have one of those pallets too. When it arrived in the mail I just dumped the cracked eyeshadow! I wish I would have saw this vid first. This is definitely going in my favorites!

@logIT135 Alcohol evaporates after the eyeshadow dries so no it will not affect you :)
This is the best makeup repair video I have seen. Thank you. I was wondering if I can try this method on my Bronzer powder?
Omg Klaire this is EXACTLY what I need! My eyeshadow break all the time cause im always on the go and dropping my purse and such so my makeup gets a beating. It's annoying ot keep replacing it when it's almost brand new so you just saved me like $50-$75 a month!
True. I decorate cakes and use high grain alcohol all the time. It Evaporates much faster than water.
Should do...I'd have to see it to say for sure...if you're not sure test it out on only some of it:)
You can use rubbing alcohol...do they have that?

hehe glad I'm not the only one that thought of vodka! I used it to depot my eyeshadows and re-press one of the ones that broke as well. :) Great tip!

I personally haven't used it for foundation but I have seen quite a few gurus which have done that and it worked fine:-)
That was really helpful, thank you! I just bought a 120 palette and it arrived with one of the shadows smashed to bits. I don't drink, so I think I'll be heading to Boots to try to get some alcohol.

Yup:) so long as it's a powder eye shadow it will work:)
This was SO helpful.
5 of the colors broke in my 120 palette and I was desperate to fix them.
Thanks so much. :)
Yes it will work for blush:)

Awesome idea:) Almost everyone of my eyeshadows is broken, so I can start saving all of them now :P
I was just wondering: what is the purpose of putting the cloth in alcohol?
What palette did you use?? :) I love it!
It will work for pressed powder as well:)
klaire you're great! lol how do you know these things? trail and error or have you taken makeup classes before? lol.
Lol:) I'm glad it helped:) It sooooooo annoying when an eyeshadow breaks!! :)
OMG!!! Thank youuu! The other night I broke 2 eyeshadows ! Now they're fixed :)

Wow, you have sooo many great tips!
I'm not the most careful person in the world, so a few of my eyeshadows are broken..
Thank you so much!

I love all the videos I have watched of yours.
Fantastic work Klaire! I'll be sure to try it out if one of mine breaks :D
@KlairedelysArt where do you get those jars? I have been looking for them for forever!
@janitajasmin That should work:) Just test it out with an eyeshadow you don't care for first just in case :)
I was playing with my aunts powder foundation, but I don't care. This is just fun to watch! :)
No it wouldn't because it would have all evaporated:) Dont wory I tried this out for a while previously and nothing whent wrong:)
do you think this would work for blushes as well? xx
@awsomechic247 NO WAY DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!! You'd seriously damage your skin!
This was actually really helpful, so thank you!
This is surprisingly easy and doable! Thanks for this. Mine is drying right now
did you break the green just to show us, or did you break the brown?
@KlairedelysArt What pallete is that? its super pretty
You would be amazed at how many different uses (other than drinking) vodka has :)
Yes you can use rubbing alcohol. And the coin you use is the one that fits your eyeshadow. EnKore has a vid on this too with rubbing alcohol....and without breaking up the whole eyeshadow which might be easier but I haven't tried this one
thats amazing but what would the alcohol do to sensitive skin? surely it wouldnt be any good
Will this still be safe to use, since alcohol was used to mend it?
I happen to love her videos because just 3 days ago my eyeshadow broke and this video was very helpful in me fixing it.
Can I use vodka? and is it safe to use alcohol?
I have asked this question before but I don't think that u got it. Wat program do u use to edit your videos?
WOOOOOWWWWWWWWW. this is amazing. i would have never have thought to do this hahah:)
does this method work well with any type of eye-shadow?

Hi, I have a little problem.
My powder is broken and we dont have some vodka or rubbing alcohol at home.
BUT we have aquavit and cognac.
Can that be used?
I am about to fix my broken eyeshadow now...it is so good that I just don't want to throw it away. :)
This is a great tutorial!
Wow, great results. Thanks for sharing! :)
can i do that with compact powder or does it just work with eyeshadows?
Dumb question, but can I use rubbing alcohol?
the eyeshadows won't smell like alcohol, will it ? but hey, im so gonna try this out :)
Can you mend your pouder findation also with alcohol?
vodka.. well thats a first from a makeup guru. :) you're so epic!!!!
Is the alcohol going to irritate your eyes
Im so stupid, i didnt have any eyeshadow broken when i got it in the mail, but now i dropped the palette and i broke 2 eyeshadows :S We dont have rubbing alcohol in Finland, so can i use 37% alcohol?
Could I do this to my pigments to fit in my makeup pallet or does it not work the same? o:
Can I use water or anything else instead of alcohol?
what i have is 96° alcohol.. used for desinfection purposes.. can i szill use it for mending my eyeshadows? :)
@KlairedelysArt Can you use this method for solid foundation?
@KlairedelysArt can i use rubbing alcohol?
Do u think i could use water? Or rybbing alcohol, because i dont think my parents will let me use alcohol, and i can find anything to fit in it because, it is a blush.?!?? What should i do
could i do this on a larger powder? like a bronzer from a blush palette?
@lalalaladontburnurha i use rubbing alcohol. it has a very high content of alcohol and works great ::)
is this good/healthy for younger people just new to makeup? I definately dont want to be smacking alchohol onto my eyes!
Thank you so much for this tutorial :) You're ze best!
@loloonmara

@pandacotterman alcohol*. And you should let it dry for a couple hours because when it dries, the alcohol evaporates.
did it work though?
what alcohol percentage is your vodka ? because i have the same vodka but only 31% alcohol?!
Where'd u get all ur eyeshadows
no not hand sanitizer. Like alcohol thats used for cleaning. Hand sanitizer wont be very good for your skin
@lalalaladontburnurha
have you tried rubbing alcohol?
Lol. Thanks for pointing that out:) Man I hate my spelling!!!:-)
only VODKA ? or anything alcohol ?
what kind of cloth should you use?
Wouldnt u get the print off a 5p on ur shadow?
