    • @sydneyplantguy
      @sydneyplantguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cutting the smaller vines will most likely just provide the plant with more energy for the main vine, however, given every node roots into the pole, they don't share the same root system anyway so most likely has no significant impact :)

    • @monat2993
      @monat2993 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sydneyplantguy I was thinking that in many plants the highest shoot is the one a plant focuses its energy on and if the smaller ones weren't attached to the big one they might be more 'motivated' to grow. Either way it's really exiting how much the plant has taken off!

    What if your pole dries out and after idk 4/5 days you water it again? Does it damages the roots or something or is it harmless? Because mine are drying out sooo fast and I don’t water them every day. And I’m also afraid, that the substrate gets to moist and I get fungus gnats again.(Sorry for my maybe bad English, I’m from Germany)

    • @sydneyplantguy
      @sydneyplantguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Treat the pole like you'd treat a potting medium, it can dry out a bit between watering, but if it dries out too much, you are risking root rot when then watering again :)

    I just watched The Lecca Queen’s video made 8 months ago . She said that using sphagnum moss poles was a lousy idea. So she’s now suggesting using a tree fern fiber moss pole. What’s your opinion on this ?

    • @sydneyplantguy
      @sydneyplantguy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Her house is filled with moss poles … not sure why she would say something like that :D i use TFF and Moss, both work but TFF is way too messy to use indoors.

      @@sydneyplantguy thanks for the quick reply. In your opinion, would it be better to use planks instead of moss ? In Malaysia I can get cheap meranti plank . I think that’s hardwood.
      Bdw, Lecca Queen replied me and explained that inspite of the cons of using the moss pole, she accepted them and still continued to use sphagnum moss.

      @@sydneyplantguy I looked it up. A few tablespoons of dish soap in a pint of water sprayed on the leaves is the remedy. Of course, I've used that before. It's the holy grail for insect control, it says. Keep a close eye on your outside plant babies! I have this one near a window I open for airflow, that's how they got in.

    • @andiincali.4663
      @andiincali.4663 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sydneyplantguy Maybe infested is too strong a word. If there's a few bugs on the plant you can just rinse them off. You do that on a regular basis anyway, so no worries. 🌿💚🪴
