Met Flutie once in a room full of hall of fame athletes and he was by far one of the nicest people I met. Ozzie Smith, Marv Levy, Wayne Chebet and Siragusa were so nice! Some other huge names not so much!
I still remember where I was when this play happened. I was in the middle of a 24-hour duty shift at 1st Brigade Headquarters at then Ft Polk in Louisiana. They set up a little 13" black and white tv in the CQ office. I had just returned from somewhere, and as I walked into the office, this play happened.
saw it live, one of the greatest games ever, 47-45, back and forth it went until the last play of the game, i remember the wife coming into the living room like "what? what happened?"
I remember watching this game praying Miami lost. Nobody at my house was paying attention since it wasn't a SWC or SEC game. I started whooping and hollering and my mom ran down to see what was wrong thinking i hurt myself. I explained and she was like who's playing, nobody cares. I am a Texan so unless it was the SWC or maybe a couple of teams in the SEC then we just didn't care.
I played against Julian in our high school CCS championship game senior year. You should have me (a random dude lol) on the show to discuss our HS championship game! lol
Doug seems like a cool guy
He is
That music though 😂
Felt like Flutie was about to storm the beaches at Normandy with the music. Hell I was ready to lol!!!

They tried to tell us Doug Flutie was to small. Doug Flutie is a game changer.
#22 as a qb is crazy work
I think it's dope. Pretty sure there was a QB for Hawaii that wore 22 as well probably ten or so years ago.
Unlimited drip
Can't believe I watched this play in live time. Seems like forever ago.
It was
what year
@@llkla4507Day after Thanksgiving, 1984
I watched that on TV with my Dad. We went crazy. Everything leading up to that play, and then the miracle.
As a hurricane fan from Miami, this play has haunted me for many years. What most people do not remember is that was one hell of a game.
I watched that live. Totally unbelievable play lol. I'll never forgot it.
I love hearing Flutie swear.
Pure joy, however you may personally define it, is the greatest fom of human expression
Same receiver beat my high school in championship game with Hail Mary catch. Crazy
Interesting fun fact!
What a great moment. Not a BC fan, but this still sends chills up my spine.

Greatest catch in Boston history.

Doug Flutie took the 99 Bills to the playoffs. Benching him was a big mistake in the wildcard versus Titans.
Flutie was such a a good QB, loved when he threw sidearm kinda. He was good as a charger too iirc
Bill Romanowski was the best player on that 84' BC Eagles team...and the dirtiest!
Top 10 most clutch plays ever
Had a CANNON!
Doug flutie skit snl hilarious

FLUTIE FLAKES!
I had a box, dont know where my pops got them in Pittsburgh but I got stoned and ate them iirc. Kept the box though for years
Can you imagine how many times he has told this story?
Best cfl qb all time 100%
