Switched from generic cables to Blue Jeans cables and I can’t honestly say that I heard a difference, but I really like the way they look and feel, plus the locking banana plugs are a pleasure to use.
I'm going to go buy a bag of popcorn (instead of new speaker cables) and enjoy the snack while reading the comments that are about to spring forth. Will be far more noticeable and entertaining. 😁

I use these Micca speaker cables on my Polk Audio LSi25 mains and LSiC center. I wish they made them in custom lengths so that I could use them on my LSiFX surrounds. These cables are fantastic! I use a Rotel RSP-1582v.2 pre/pro and a Rotel RMB-1585 5-channel amplifier.
I used 10 gage stranded copper power cord from Home Depot. I tried those expensive flat cables and they did sound better, less power drop. I achieved the same sound quality with the 10 gage cable, using high quality banana connectors. If anything give the 10 gage power cord a try, you maybe suprised.
I tried those, sounded really nice! But found some Atlas cables used for quite a bit more that worked much better after a speaker change. It really is system dependent 👍🏼
I used to think alot about speaker cable and using bigger more expensive copper ones until it clicked,after opening many sets of speakers i noticed the wires from the inside of the terminal post to the crossover then to speakers was nowhere near as big as my external wires,so i found it pointless using anything bigger than what is inside the speakers enclosure.
With speaker cable, you very quickly encounter the law of diminishing returns. There is no way a 3000 dollar set will be 10 times better than a 300 dollar set. It's simply conspicuous consumption.
I'm from the UK I only bought the length I required from giraffe audio in Birmingham it cost £20 meter so not the cheapest for 100m maybe you could try and get it directly from Japan could be more cost effective that way

The most I’ve ever spent on cables were for my Mofi Sourcepoint 10. I purchased a set of Worlds Best Cables Ultimate - 7 AWG cables. One thing is for sure. If cables could be built like tanks, these cables are it.189 a set. Is there scientific proof that cables actually have a “sound”. Not sure. I do find it hilarious though when seeing people post about a particular cables “sound”. Perhaps they do. I just go for cables that are built well and to last. Anything from WBC has been great for my systems.

I have a pair of the Micca 14 Gauge Pure Copper Speaker Wire, 12 Feet. The Blue Jeans Cable "Ten White" Speaker Cables are a very neutral sounding cable and I prefer them to the Micca cables.

I'm still using some bulk Audioquest cable that I bought in 1994. It's stiff. 2 wires each for +/-. AS I remember it was only $2.50/ft. It sounds great.

So next time before swapping cable follow this test: disconnect your existing cables, clean both the speaker posts and your existing cable’s connectors. Reconnect and listen, make your notes and swap the cables.
A question that comes to mind with this recommendation: a lot of these kinds of manufacturers on Amazon seem to rebrand pre-made products. Can you be sure that the quality of these cables is going to be consistent between different pairs? As in: can we expect them to use the same construction/materials for each production run?
I bought these off of your last review and have been very happy with them. Coming from lamp cord speaker wire to these cables did vastly improve sound quality, the music was much cleaner with greatly improved detail.

Exactly what I found. With my old system I had £9k's worth of silver cables all through and they made a huge difference. But, they sound awful in my current system (2wpc SET and single drivers), which in turn sounds amazing with cotton insulated, tinned copper, Western Electric style cable from Duelund/Belden/Switchcraft.
I use a set of prefaire cables from Amazon, and I think they were about $40. I love them, but I’ve considered picking up these just to see if there is any difference since Amazon returns are super easy.
You'd better change the internal cables in the speakers as well. Otherwise what you're doing isn't much different from taking a speaker cable, cutting it in half and replacing one half with a different cable.

100% Correct "Silver Connector " that degrades without cleaning I use bare wire copper just twist the strands. SubPar connection equals weak sound don't tune audio with a bad connector
I think that any cable you place between components will become part of the overall circuit. Changing the circuit will affect the sound for better or worse. Find the synergy. I love the Valhalla too.
Have noticed a drop in sound on pro audio equipment when connections have not been moved or changed after time. A bass amp with a lot of drop off in tone and pulled then replaced the speaker connections . May this be happening to a lesser degrees with stereo equipment Thanks for the GREAT Videos. !!!

Some folk even think the cable direction does have an affect, But the cable don't know what way it's facing, it's just wire thick or thin, long runs can have an affect but a twelve foot short run can't really be heard or measured thick or thin in terms of sound quality.

i’ve got two pairs of these cables and I must admit I don’t like them much. You and Andrew Robertson speak so highly of them and you are far more seasoned than I yet I like my Kimber VS considerably better. Perhaps they just don’t complement my systems.
I had these cables in different audio rigs and they sucked in every set up! They are dark and very muffled sounding. I replaced these on all my audio set ups with Blue Jean cables ($120 a pair). Sound improvement about 20% for the better. Clear and detailed - it is like I lifted a curtain. It happened on three different systems like this. It should be a crime to recommend these cables.

The extent of the effect probably depends on the elements of the chain. I have seven types of speaker cables. My system sounds different with each one. The effect of the speaker cables on the sound is greater than that of the connecting cables (between DAC and amplifier).
Are these Micca cables actually 4 meters? Amazon's site says they are 12 feet/4 meters, but 12 feet is not the same as 4 meters. 4 meters is about 13 feet 1.5 inches. Can anyone clarify what the actual length is?
most amps etc I've seen recommend 14 ga wires not $ 200 a foot stuff, just copper wire. I'm using 10 ga now, used 14 ga 'monster' type for like 2 decades no problem but thought it was getting funky, at least visually. the standard wire gauge per length of wire run factor. I have had problems with ' banana plugs' from E bay ( nakamichi brand ) breaking. irritating.
I wish those MIcca speaker cables came in all black color. That red stands out, and I would prefer that cables not be such a visual standout in the room.
I don't get it: you say you're gonna choose the cheaper ones because you value your budget more than the extra 5% of perfection the expensive ones offer... but then you say that you still own expensive cables... so why not use these, if you have them?
You need to upgrade your audio gear... These $39 speaker cables were terrible. Others in the room asked what did I do? I swapped those Mica cables out and put the Mogami wires back in and the speakers suddenly came to life, in a very dramatic fashion.
If you are looking for something "special", I recommend renting Luna Cables model Gris cables from Canada. Very musical, smooth, analog and "organic" sound like tubes.
A lot talk about cable but nobody has mentioned the csa of the cable being used . If you compare 30 foot of the stuff that comes with a car radio to 6 inch of heavy monster cable, the difference will be very obvious. So cable does make a difference.

Speaker cables from Sommer, Belden , Gotham cables are well built, relatively neutral across the spectrum and has been used by many audiophiles.
I also use micca cables…much more detail in the music than audio quest I was using

Those direction indicators are related to the shielding/grounding construction of the cable not the 'direction' of the wire.
I just use pure 14 gauge silver wire with an over sized teflon jacket.

The only time you might need a greater CSA cable is for runs over 100 ft

I have had problems with ' banana plugs' from E bay ( nakamichi brand ) breaking. irritating.
I wish those MIcca speaker cables came in all black color. That red stands out, and I would prefer that cables not be such a visual standout in the room.
There are plastic dyes that can do the trick. Just make sure you can identify the polarity.

You need to upgrade your audio gear... These $39 speaker cables were terrible. Others in the room asked what did I do? I swapped those Mica cables out and put the Mogami wires back in and the speakers suddenly came to life, in a very dramatic fashion.

better "power cord" will only make sense, if you plug it straight to the city grid. :))
If you are looking for something "special", I recommend renting Luna Cables model Gris cables from Canada. Very musical, smooth, analog and "organic" sound like tubes.
A lot talk about cable but nobody has mentioned the csa of the cable being used . If you compare 30 foot of the stuff that comes with a car radio to 6 inch of heavy monster cable, the difference will be very obvious. So cable does make a difference.
