What a beautiful video. Cubans are so accommodating and friendly. I get the impression that those who live in rural areas and are self sufficient have a superior life to those in the squalor of the cities. It’s the exact opposite in the USA or other developed countries. We have Amish in parts of our country who don’t even know who the president is and they are isolated and removed from politics. They have a similar life as these rural Cubans, but I wouldn’t say they have a better life. It’s harder and without those amenities we in cities enjoy. I’ve noticed that people who have nothing themselves are the first to share what little they have with others. You did very well to still have a good and interesting adventure in spite of this
As someone who can't speak Spanish you won't last 10 minutes in the countryside without speaking total Spanish. Been there tried that. The Cuban don't always warm up to tourists in rural areas. Stop romanticling this to boost your views.
Sadly, Cuba is losing an entire generation of young people fleeing the poverty and the repressive regime. I've been watching videos of Cuban TH-camrs who have left the country for good for places like Uruguay, Chile, and Trinidad and Tobago. Countries that are by no means wealthy (at least not by American and Western European standards). However, they are considerably more prosperous than Cuba and certainly have much freer societies. It is heartening to see their excitement going into a store for the first time and marveling at the fully stocked shelves. Also their joy at sitting down for the first time to enjoy a meal from McDonalds or KFC. Simple privileges that those of us who have had access to such things all of your lives often take for granted.
It's nice to go to Cuba and see it first hand. I'm sure I could find something to add something. Like why don't Cuba get a loan to overhaul its household water which is taken for granted in many countries. This will be a great help to the economy because dehydration can stymie people in a lot of way.
Those ad-hoc natural household filtration system may not be adequate and is not a closed system. That is why you have to refrigerate it right away and drink it right away because bacteria colony may rapidly increase.
Think how much electricity you can save by not refrigerating water and have a better use for the refrigerator or shut it down completely if you don't need it to save on electricity.
The trouble it took those people to provide you that’s breakfast was unimaginable. The people I stayed with took 3 hours to rustle up the components for a breakfast. I bought a pig to slaughter as a contribution for my stay. I imagine that 14 years later they’re still eating from it.
The Cuban diet doesn't vary very much and is uniform throughout the country. So ordinary Cubans might benefit from a ration of everyday multivitamins. A Cuban say in another video, they live in an island yet there is a shortage of salt and fish.
Working in a office job allows me to travel, buy medicine, a car, a good house, things i like, good food, a good bed, etc... That old man lives day to day, allways dependent on the criminal communist government, without any comfort. I bet if you give him the option to start his life again in a developed country working in a "office job" or having a miserable life in cuba, he would accept the first option without a chance. The way you talk about life is utopic. We can't all leave our jobs and "travel". And in some years you will have nothing and probably criticize people like me because i have money thanks to my long years of hard work to have a nice life.
You can leave your job and travel, you just need to break free from the matrix. You say you can't, i say you can. I have my own business in England, which means I can travel when I want and do what i want when i want. If you want to work in an office job and that brings you happiness, so be it. I'm free and always will be.
The trouble it took those people to provide you that’s breakfast was unimaginable. The people I stayed with took 3 hours to rustle up the components for a breakfast. I bought a pig to slaughter as a contribution for my stay. I imagine that 14 years later they’re still eating from it.

if water is hard to get where do they get it??
boiling tap water or collecting rain
Those pink fruits are guavas
Thanks for clarifying! Did you see what I was eating in Havana?
Smoke what the locals smoke in Cuba. Awesome!
Some fat cubans??
As someone who can't speak Spanish you won't last 10 minutes in the countryside without speaking total Spanish. Been there tried that. The Cuban don't always warm up to tourists in rural areas. Stop romanticling this to boost your views.
im really sorry
1:46 I think is guava fruit.
it was delicious ! thanks foe watching :)
Simple privileges that those of us who have had access to such things all of your lives often take for granted.
go watch my first cuban video to see how friendly people are, despite having nothing!!
SUBBED.....🤠
cheeers!!! I hope you enjoy my new korean series as well!!
It's nice to go to Cuba and see it first hand. I'm sure I could find something to add something. Like why don't Cuba get a loan to overhaul its household water which is taken for granted in many countries. This will be a great help to the economy because dehydration can stymie people in a lot of way.
Can't they make artesian wells?
Those ad-hoc natural household filtration system may not be adequate and is not a closed system. That is why you have to refrigerate it right away and drink it right away because bacteria colony may rapidly increase.
Think how much electricity you can save by not refrigerating water and have a better use for the refrigerator or shut it down completely if you don't need it to save on electricity.
With the electricity saved, Cuba can pay its loans easily because energy generation is quite expensive.
have you been to Cuba?
Almost was a got lost episode 😂
Elio is a living legend! 😂
The trouble it took those people to provide you that’s breakfast was unimaginable. The people I stayed with took 3 hours to rustle up the components for a breakfast. I bought a pig to slaughter as a contribution for my stay. I imagine that 14 years later they’re still eating from it.
oh, you've watch the vinales video and commented on it, that's amazing!! Thanks
16:50 :)
The Cuban diet doesn't vary very much and is uniform throughout the country. So ordinary Cubans might benefit from a ration of everyday multivitamins. A Cuban say in another video, they live in an island yet there is a shortage of salt and fish.
Asians are quite intelligent because in my opinion they eat a lot of fish or fish extract and sea food.
They don't have much food.
nice
people in europe wouldn't be so nice to strangers, at least where I'm from
where you from?
@@whereisdan from Germany
@@Diazepamo thanks for commenting on my videos mate ;)
Every single westerner in Cuba "I'm going to the cave"....Jesus Christ folks!
nice.
What is going on. They are capable of building proper houses but they are incapable of building proper bridges. Where have all the big trees gone to?
They should plant more Leucaena leucocephala, a fast growing hardwood and can even feed livestock.
Pigs only eating potatoes? No wonder it takes a long time for them to grow up.
They ate the sap from the trees i think.
good idea!!
