You are obviously not a book person. That kit is perfection. You get exactly what you need for a perfect book nook. All it really lacks is just a desk and matching desk chair, but there are plenty in base game that fits with the look. And those bookcases make you never want to pick another bookcase unless you're looking for industrial or other styles.
agreed!! i always give my sims a mini home library and i ALWAYS use the book nook kit because its perfect and the other book themed clutter and sofas just fit the vibe so so well for me
I also love that so many of the items have a slot where you can naturally place a book and not have it look out of place - this has revolutionized library builds because you can stock different libraries with different books and they carry through from the gallery! And it’s not just a pile on the floor - it looks natural.
It's one of my favorite kits too. I love making a bookcase wall with that cozy loveseat and rug. The floor and desk lamps work with so many different styles of builds. Super versatile.
Little Campers actually DOES add gameplay, if you think in terms of a new player deciding what to buy rather than on a timeline of what was released when. Because you don’t need Get Together to play Little Campers’ Don’t Wake the Yeti, nor do you need Outdoor Retreat to roast marshmallows on Little Campers’ campfire. And there’s a working swing set, which isn’t in base game (Island Living and Seasons I think?), and the projector screen may just be a giant tv but it’s definitely a very different look/vibe to normal tvs. And then there’s still more functional items which is great even if they are base game gameplay - the activity table, dollhouse, and giant stuffed animal.
7:43 because they can put no effort in and know simmers will still buy the pack. They rely on those who create mods to make it better and that means they don't have to pay more to make it better

I agree ! But as a Moroccan person, Courtyard Oasis shouldn't be a kit, it should be an ENTIRE expansion pack or at least a game pack. The Moroccan lifestyle is just sooo different and it Can be very fun to play, or at least if u want to take your sims there as in a vacation. I hope they will soon give us an expansion pack inspired of Morocco, Egypt and Middle East countries
The Party Essentials kit always screams typical “Lifetime Movie High School Reunion” for the theme. It’s still *absolutely* all over the place, but when I look at the items I see cliche high school reunion decor. Maybe that’s more of an American thing though? 😅
"...but not enough," sums up most of the kits. I own a few of the early build kits and like them all, but it is indeed impossible to follow the architectural or design theme through an entire build, and you go from inspired to disappointed within seconds.
Great review! Unpopular opinion, but I like Industrial Kit because there are a lot of matching items just in the Base game (like those kitchen counters, TV table etc.)
The book Nook kit is my favourite, I use some part of it in nearly every build. I am happy they didn't replace some book related items with plants as suggested in the video. We have plant kits for that. The couches are great too. I enjoy the castle kit. It is one of my favourites. I do wish we would get some medieval furniture to go with it. This criticism also applies to the courtyard oasis build kit. The everyday clutter is also very useful. There is so much clutter across so many DLC, one kit which can be filtered with only clutter is very convenient. The little campers kit is also great. It is a nice to get so many functional objects and a great short cut for simmers to get access to items that otherwise is only found in larger DLC.
I think it's sad that we *need* sims 4 youtubers to give us this kind of content, I can't think of any other game where so many people rank the packs. Like, when I wanted to get Cities Skylines packs I read the steam reviews and considered if the content was right for me and bought it or not when it was on sale. And I was happy with my choices and lackluster on one (I never use universities, I didn't buy industries and maybe a few others) With the sims 4, I've watched probably 10 videos like this (some old and some newer) and I still don't entirely know which will be right for me, and that's the part that makes this the most "cash grabby" the utter confusion in buying has put me off on buying anything.
That greenhouse kit should've been added in seasons for starters :x Btw Satch, I'm not deaf but I'd appreciate it if you could add subtitles to your videos in English. Easier to follow along
Satch's rankings. It's worth noting that he tends to like kits in general, he has good things to say about most build kits, complaints are: never enough stuff, doesn't work well with anything else, too samey with something else, or too disjointed to make a theme/room . It depends greatly on if the theme fits in one room or not. Love it: -little campers (clever stuff, tent, styles of gameplay objects nice games table, firepit, activity table, swingset, outdoor movie theater afd ability to camp in back garden, not much overlap) -blooming rooms (grenhouse stuff, lots of plants -note he was lackluster about it when it came free, but I guess it grew on him) -deseet lux (different styles stuff, flooring, unique door, nice aesthetic, it's like the patio stuff pack but much cheaper, versatile) Like it: -Modern lux (fun for builds, good swatches, curtain rods) -pastel pop (wallpaper & carpet, enough stuff, not his theme) -basement treasures (wallpaper, nice vibe, enough for a basement, not much overlap), Unnecessary: -Everyday clutter (not enough, enough clutter comes in other packs) -country kitchen (nice counters, overlaps with basegame + cottage living) -decor to the max (very hard to decorate with this, either tone down or make a larger pack bc not enough to make a house and it needs to be a whole house) -book nook (ok sofa set, good clutter, the only thing people want are the modular shelves and the rest is cash grabby) Dislike it: -Greenhouse haven (windows & flooring nice but not enough stuff) -industrial loft (industrial loft, theme is nice, but need city living to make it work, looks nice though, not necessarily versatile) Hate it: castle estate (not enough stuff, doesn't work well with other packs) -bathroom clutter (ok, but overlap with basegame, could have given a bathroom cabinet, should have been combined with the everyday clutter kit) - courtyard oasis (favorite aesthetic, but doesn't fit well with rest of game) -party essentials ("party unessentials" mishmash, should have been a birthday celebration kit, missing balloon arches and present stacks).
I make this list for myself so when I'm looking up youtube recommendations, I can see my own summary bc my own comment goes to the top. But I hope others get benefit too
No matter what, i love Courtyard Oasis. it's very beautiful and faithful to its real life counterpart. it's exotic for me (in amazingly good way. sorry if you don't like this word, but i dunno other words for this, not english native).
I love the Everyday Clutter kit, it's so versatile and I use almost every single object in a lot of my builds (especially the mugs, radio and the make up stuff)
I full heartedly agree with your idea about getting kits of one item, like the blooming kit =) I would LOVE to see that because for me the lack of styles is the biggest issue when building.
I think kits work better as additions to what you already have. Meaning that when you learn how to combine packs, vibes and styles and on top of it use some standout pieces, the kits gain a lot more. For example, I think Industrial Loft is cool regardless of whether you have City Living or not. Yes, the name “loft” implies that it’s meant to be used in San Myshuno (and I did) but you can also use it for its general aesthetic. A month or so ago I built a tiny home in San Sequoia using *a lot* of Industrial Loft items and it looks amazing (granted, combined with other items from other packs). Book Nook is a kit that I could never imagine not having in my game because it’s soooo versatile. I use pretty much everything in a lot of my builds. And Decor To The Max works better (at least for my personal style) when you use the pieces as standout things in your builds, rather than combining them all together to create a maximalist living room. If you spread them out around the house I think it looks better because then the build has room to breathe, the pieces all look intentional and you do get to use pretty much everything in the kit. Now, since it’s a more modern and particular style, it’s not as versatile as other kits. Great video Satch, it made me have a better insight on the kits I yet don’t have and now I have an idea of which ones are worth getting 🫶🏽
I have to say I think the attraction of all the 'lux' kits is that all the pieces DO go together so well. In all the packs there are things that really don't go with anything and often really don't go together, no matter what kind of pack it is, but not the lux packs, they go together across the board. Now they are not to my taste at all, but even I would want them just because they do all go together and if you get all of the lux packs you can make a really nice place with them. And yes, I know with packs they are trying to put enough stuff in there that everyone will have things they like, but I'm talking about the one window that matches NOTHING else in the entire game across all the packs and you love the look of it but can't use it anywhere and its not suitable for an entire house. There are door that we all love the look of but only one swatch is suitable to go with anything in any other pack and we get tired of using only the one swatch. The sofa that is pretty and love it but there is not a single color variation that goes with anything else. So many things like that, but again not the case for all the lux kits, they not only work together but mix and match with other packs pretty well also.
I really thought the medieval kit and morrocan kit should have been gamepacks or stuffpack and been a full on total house set. Because as you said, you can't make a whole house out of it so what's the point?
Okay, I apparently never looked at the swatches of the desert oasis kit because that black set is so good! And yeah there's way too many kits and so many of them are just terrible/useless.
Hard disagree on the loft, a loft isn't necessarily an apartment, its an architectural feature, you can have a loft house, pretty common with small renovated warehouses
I use the clutter kit to fill up my basement or my attic and then I use spider webs from vampires to make it look old. But I use a lot of objects and I like them because they are more modern and more hobby-like than most of the others. I actually like the idea of the estate one and I used it to create a castle kinda in ruins like that strange lot from Winderburg. As a functional castle, it doesn't work. You have maybe eight or nine objects that kinda look medieval, but then it is impossible to make it functional and realistic. So yeah, I have mixed feelings about it. The greenhouse one... I feel like they released it as an update of seasons. And THAT is the problem with most packs.
No matter what, i love Courtyard Oasis. it's very beautiful and faithful to its real life counterpart. it's exotic for me (in amazingly good way. sorry if you don't like this word, but i dunno other words for this, not english native). I don't care lol. But yes i agree, if we have more of this architecture and world for full build of this, it would be much more lovable
I would love the industrial loft kit but I don't think there's enough to make it worth buying! Esoecially since I already made an industrial loft home and would really only use the piping in it anyway
I understand the reasoning for your ratings and i agree with most of the ratings. The only one i disagree with and can't understand the reasoning is the industrial loft kit one. I have used and i see people use that kit to make industrial builds all the time that don't use city living at all. Its really easy to make a factory with a loft that looks like its been renovated into a house with only the basegame and industrial loft kit and maybe debug. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe the build kits are more popular, but, it's also possible that they are easier to make. For a starter, the meshes needed are often simpler, being static. The base game have clutter. Most of the DLC's also have clutter. There are tons of CC's that include clutter. There are even mods that turn functionless clutter items into functional items. Little Campers... DO NOT EVER put the outdoors movie projector outside and unprotected. It is NOT rain proof. Put it under the tent or under some roof overhang. The swing set is arguably the nicest one, and the activity table is now the only one that I ever use. Need a doors and windows kit.
I actually love Everyday Clutter and Decor to the Max is my bestie😂 I use them both constantly and I use all of the items. I even like the peacock statue because when it’s sized down, it looks good on shelves and fireplace mantels.
I just think that you your selling a build kit it needs to have an abundance of items, im never picking up a kit because they all scratchh the surface of what I want but don't go into any depth, the maxamalist kit was one that j would have really liked to have but you could only really build a living room with it
It almost seems like EA puts these kits out and see how much get bought and use that info to gauge interest in a certain style to later make expansions or other content in that style. Maybe I give EA too much credit.
There is only ONE kit I would want, so far, that's the #MedievalKit, I actually really like it... just not for that price. If they made a #RoyalsKit or some other cool era based kit like: Arthurian, Baroque/Rococo, Inca/nazca, Native American or Persian kit, I'd be very interested, but as of right now, I'm only looking at the #CastleEstateKit.
Why should kits always match the basegame and give you all the thinks you need to build and furnish an entire house? That's just not what a kit should try to do in my opinion. In order for such a tiny pack to have any point at all, it needs to be very specific. And what kit is worth buying really depends on the very specific tastes of the player. If you play in San Myshuno all the time you could get a lot of use out of the Industrial Loft kit. If you love to play with Vampires the Castle Estate kit is just the ticket to build a new exciting residence for Vlad. In reality most players have other packs they play with already, so why should a kit not bring something into the game that ties in with those.
My clutter ideas: -More kids clutter -More pets clutter -MORE KITCHEN CLUTTER!!!!!! And space on the counters... -Slippers on the floor -Blankets on beds, chairs, couches, heck even on the floor, why not Am I missing something?
Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll ever get more cat or dog items because of how much backlash EA got for My First Pet Stuff. I would love to get new items for my pets that are different aesthetics💔
Of course you think there's not many items in some of the Kits... when you don't even show all of them. I hope no one actually uses your lists to decide if they should get a Pack or Kit, because you aren't showing them everything that is even in them. For example: the Country Kitchen Kit has great stone walls and floors, but you ignored them... possibly to make the Kit seem worse. It's perfectly fine if you don't like something, but to lie and say it doesn't have "fill in the blank" is absurd. Country Kitchen has great items, and is very comparable in number to other Kits, when taking into account all the varying counters and cabinets. Personally I think it has the best kitchen set and think that it is different enough from the Cottage Living set. I use items from Country Kitchen probably more than any other kit... although I do use Industrial Loft items quite a bit as well. But I guess you're not much different from other Blue Suburban building Simmers in that regard: contradicting yourself and trying to skew a pack to seem to suit your agenda. As opposed to presenting the facts of what is there and whether or not you personally like and use the items. That is the type of list I would like to see: ranking each type of packs/kits based on how much you like the items and how frequently you make use of them. Trying to straddle a fence of your opinion vs objectively... just leads to contradictory statements.

"It’s giving my first pet stuff trauma" bahahahah 💀
Did blooming rooms ever go for free? Or it was just going to and then never did?
I love the b&m reference 🤣 love your videos
No matter what, i love Courtyard Oasis. it's very beautiful and faithful to its real life counterpart. it's exotic for me (in amazingly good way. sorry if you don't like this word, but i dunno other words for this, not english native). I don't care lol. But yes i agree, if we have more of this architecture and world for full build of this, it would be much more lovable
I bought decor to the max just for the lamp 💀🤣
Like i cannot build without that lamp
paying $5 for bathroom clutter is crazy to me 😭
I would love the industrial loft kit but I don't think there's enough to make it worth buying! Esoecially since I already made an industrial loft home and would really only use the piping in it anyway
Being, honest, people watch this video cause of Satch, not the kits😂😂😂
I only bought Little Campers kit because the swings are adorable
Party kit is like a sib of Decortothemax kit
the same disjointed mismatching mess from different epoches
I understand the reasoning for your ratings and i agree with most of the ratings. The only one i disagree with and can't understand the reasoning is the industrial loft kit one. I have used and i see people use that kit to make industrial builds all the time that don't use city living at all. Its really easy to make a factory with a loft that looks like its been renovated into a house with only the basegame and industrial loft kit and maybe debug. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There’s a new expansion pack called love struck and it comes with a heart bed!!!
@StatchOnSims do you see yourself covering the up coming game “Life By You” by Epic Games ?
Ok but the every day clutter kit deserved a little better than unnecessary
All deco and clutter in this game is twice bigger than it should be, I have to shrink it with [ button when placed.
I actually love Everyday Clutter and Decor to the Max is my bestie😂 I use them both constantly and I use all of the items. I even like the peacock statue because when it’s sized down, it looks good on shelves and fireplace mantels.
The castle kit could have easily been with vampires or realm of magic or some
I'd love a sofa kit or a bed kit
Thanks for this
I just think that you your selling a build kit it needs to have an abundance of items, im never picking up a kit because they all scratchh the surface of what I want but don't go into any depth, the maxamalist kit was one that j would have really liked to have but you could only really build a living room with it
I just love it Decor to the max 😂
I completely agree with your opinions, which is quite sad really
Let’s be for real, how often are we actually going to use that heart bed 😂
Literally once at most 😭
Are EA going to do Blooming Rooms for for free?
It almost seems like EA puts these kits out and see how much get bought and use that info to gauge interest in a certain style to later make expansions or other content in that style. Maybe I give EA too much credit.
Wait are kits not packs? HOW MANY VARIANTS SRE THERE!?
Expansion Packs ($40), Game Packs ($20), Stuff Packs ($10), Kits ($5).
Kits, game packs, stuff packs and expansion packs
@@azurastar3223*high five*
Does B&M mean bangers & mash?
i love how bold you are with EA. they fucking suck
Isn’t Desert Oasis free? Or am I misremembering
It was free for a limited time but only to people who purchased base game before base game was free permanently.
Never been so early woohoo! 🥰
That would be so weird if you said it in simlish and then said "Woohoo!" If you know what I mean 😩
The woohoo made me laugh so much😭
Decor to the Max is like the embodiment of a migraine, omg.
My clutter ideas:
-More kids clutter
-More pets clutter
-MORE KITCHEN CLUTTER!!!!!! And space on the counters...
-Slippers on the floor
-Blankets on beds, chairs, couches, heck even on the floor, why not
Am I missing something?
Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll ever get more cat or dog items because of how much backlash EA got for My First Pet Stuff. I would love to get new items for my pets that are different aesthetics💔
Sorry my eye is running coz I got hayfever sorry satch xx from Helen xx
The Party Essentials kit is a kit with an identity crisis. It's just bad.
Build kits are literally just CC that cost money lmao
I think it's sad that this video is 27 mins long. With that, I mean that it's sad there are THAT many kits, with a lot being quite underwhelming.
Sims 4 is The Z1M2
noice
