    My dream would be for Nerida to give me a facial and provide a list of customized recommendations for skincare and have Lisa Eldridge do my makeup and provide her recommendations. Just the best of the industries.

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lethopefloat more than likely it has to do with the look and the price point... The Spa is in Bel-Air, where I’m sure the majority of clientele are looking to spend a lot. Valmont is a luxury line definitely fit for a luxury hotel/resort. It’s a beautiful line of products, but it’s definitely fit for a certain clientele, which needs to be met in a place like that. 🤷🏼‍♂️

      She wasn’t the Spa Manager or the owner of the Hotel Bel-Air Spa. When you work for someone else, you don’t always get to make the decisions.
      Also, formulas are complex. Fragrance is fine for the majority of people. Not necessarily ideal for an extremely sensitive skin, or skin condition.

    Nice video. You say you can only recommend the series you have worked with, which is Rejuvi in all of the videos I have seen. In this one it is a new series, Valmont. That is a bit weird. Why would you use Valmont if Rejuvi is so good? :)

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adelaide Holmes In a neighborhood like Bel-Air, the look and price point of the products is important. It’s definitely a psychological thing for sure, but the majority of people going to that hotel are looking to spend a lot of money. Everything from products, to service, to overall presentation are things that greatly matter in a luxury spa.

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brenda Diaz you can, but your skin needs to be resilient enough for that. That is more of an advanced protocol. I’m not a big fan of microdermabrasion, personally, but... yes you could...

    Saying she never recommends prescription strength Retin-A is horrible advice! Over the counter is not the same however the best over the counter is differin as it once required a prescription and is more available to the skin. She is saying that because she cannot sell/prescribe it. She also made claims she was doing treatment to strengthen the skin but used no tools or equipment to do so creams do not do that and not with one-time use. Big pass.

    • @Selsmittenxo
      @Selsmittenxo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's Pros and cons for both, with prescription theres higher risk of irritation etc. But usually faster and greater results. It depends on what you can handle.

    • @ELSITAFERNANDEZ
      @ELSITAFERNANDEZ 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      jct6808 plus she moisturize and then did a face mask that she removed along with the moisturizer

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      She never recommends prescription strength because of the redness, flaking, and irritation that comes along with it. Retinoic Acid is has to be tolerated to be accepted by the cells. She’s not saying it doesn’t work, because it absolutely does, but you can have the same results from using over the counter retinoids depending on their strength, and form-they are better tolerated and will go through a conversion cycle into retinoic acid, thus giving the skin the same effects as a prescription strength over a period of time. And if you are using different forms of Vitamin A and/or alpha hydroxy acids, you are absolutely strengthening the skin as you are stimulating fibroblast cells. Fibroblasts kick start the production of collagen and elastin fibers, forming a groundwork of the extracellular matrix, which creates a stronger dermal layer. You can absolutely do this with creams. 😘

      @pamela9662 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not to mention, it depends what the retinol (vit A ) is used for. There are more benefits to a retinol cream/serum that have additional ingredients vs a prescription. The Strength is not always the best contributing factor. Formulation and delivery matter also.

    I really wish these people would wear gloves.

    • @Shalikali
      @Shalikali 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Umm...why? First off, a professional aesthetician wouldn't go near a client's skin without having disinfected their hands from bacteria. Second, there are few things more energising, nourishing and healing than the touch of a good skin therapist who knows how to massage the face properly and stimulate the blood through pressure, movement and lymphatic flow. The skin to skin touch is an essential part of that healing exchange. A good therapist can also tell a lot from the heat levels of the client's skin through direct touch. Why would anyone wish to be massaged through latex? Makes no sense whatsoever.

      If you are the client, you may request it (:

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a personal choice. If you are a client you can ask them if they wear gloves during the duration of the treatment, and if not you may request it. Most massage therapists do not wear gloves, for the reason that they like to feel the skin bare, and work the muscles with a more proper understanding of what they are feeling, but there are always exceptions.
      I myself do not wear gloves, unless I am doing extractions on clients. It is a personal thing for sure.
