Excelent documental tour. All people of the world are grateful to Bark River Knives Team, for giving such a great miracle, like a perfect knife is. Also, thank you very much ¨The Apostle¨, for the amazing video documentation. Regards from Argentine.
Never thought there store was that big. It's nice to know that I am not the only one that gets lost sometimes. A very nice video, enjoyed a lot. Glad to see the people that work there and the one I talk to when I call sometimes.
Fantastic video - can't believe I missed it when you posted it 5 years ago! Watching all the videos you did on your Escanaba trip - Great work, thanks a lot for sharing! Cheers
Derrick is such a genuine guy. No wonder the Lord has blessed him with great employees, and a great business. I hardly shop anywhere else. Im really loving your behind the scenes video series. Keep up the good work.
Derrick, ( if you ever read this) I must tell you how moved and impressed I am that your 13 employees made the move to remain in your employ. If that is not an exemplary character reference then I don't know what is. Having said that, I could not imagine buying product from anyone else. It was a great pleasure to watch this video as it goes straight to the heart of what makes our lives more enriched when we put forth the better side of humanity. I believe in karma because it works on the fundamental level and contains no secrets...do unto others ( you know the rest). Thank you and God bless.
What a great video - very enjoyable. So it seems that not only are Northwoods knives a great product, but the KSF crew are great people too. This makes me happy :-)
Excellent tour, my last couple of CRKs came from KSF and I'm happy to support the business - putting people and names to the organization makes a huge difference. Interesting on Tyler, he sounded so much older on the phone :) Again, the Escanaba trip has been a joy to watch.
This is one of those videos where i scratch my head and ask myself how I've missed it for so long. Great tour and talk with Derrick. Since I've gotten into the custom and semi-custom knife" addiction" all my purchases have been from KSF except for two...older models that I had to do some serious searching to find. They all do good work at KSF.
Feel like I have had a vacation and it is so nice to be able to have hands on with what your buying at a real store with people you can meet face to face and I can tell they are sincere people.I believe they will do very well I know they will have some of my business
Pretty cool to see what my favorite website looks like on the inside. Wish Southern California had a knife store where I could actually touch and handle all the cream of the crop knives before making a decision!
I love it! Derrick seems like a great guy, and learning that all of his employees cared about him so much to move from Oregon to Michigan speaks volumes in my eyes! I honestly wish I could work for him! Thank you so much for the video tour Rob, I really enjoyed getting to know the knivesshipfree team a little more! =)
Seems like loyalty is very important to these guys which is something I can really get behind. It's such a rare thing these days but it's always something to admire when you encounter it.
Great video! I really enjoyed that. Interesting to know that Derrick sold the Scagal trademark awhile back, I did not know that. Looks like they've got plenty of elbow room there at the new Michigan shop. And oh, what a COOL story about all of Derrick's help making the move with Derrick. I bet that WAS one of his most humbling experiences. You know they've GOT to be like family! Glad ya made it home safely. Thanks Rob!
I was only at the Hillsborough store once, wish I'd asked to look around. I new a couple employees were moving with Derrick, it's humbling to hear his entire crew moved with him. .... Best of luck to Knives Ship Free, ,,,, and , dang you for slowing my NW deliveries !!
Fascinating video, Derrick comes over as a pretty cool guy and the fact his whole workforce moved with him... who does that, in this day and age?! Particularly interesting to see the work that goes into the video and photography.
I just bought from derrick for first time his camel bone beagle. looking forward to it:) watched 5 of them disappear in one day before I decided to buy it:) glad I did.
I've been kinda exclusively buying from this store(aside from some used instagram deals) since I got my first GEC maybe 5 months ago. Cool to see what's going on there. grabbed my first lefty Chris Reeve from them. Favorite place to buy online nowadays.
How fantastic. Two Godly men and Two of my favorite TH-cam people on the same video. I was even a elementary school friend of Derrick. Both of you are fantastic. God bless you both. As soon as I save enough money, I plan to get a Bark River knife from Derrick. Maybe I should have you sharpen it. What a Great combo, Rob and Derrick. Your taste in knives as well as your love of Jesus is such a great mix.
Good video and story on the store and Derrick's move with all is employee's ! Do you know how many empoyee's he had ? Only 3 years later and they were planning a move to Memphis . What a loss, now threee years later and Derrick is dead ! God bless his employee's and his family, what a loss to all of us and the world.
BTW: Thanks to Heidi for the extremely fast shipping of my new LT Wright - Gary Wines Bushcrafter (seems like I ordered and the next thing I knew, a letter carrier was knocking on my door with the product).
You are from Fort Wayne?! Dang. I just found this channel recently. I live a few min from Fort Wayne. Might have to send some knives your way to be sharpened.
Wow! I had huge respect for Derrick before this video after seeing this all I can say is Wow! My only question is how many people did it take to drag you out of there Rob. lol. Great video by the way.
Derrick Bohn must be one awesome boss for his employees to move with him I sure as hell wouldn't be living anywhere near my boss let alone in his house.
Awesome video. I've purchased a lot of Northwoods from them. The Michigan EO Jack is their best yet. Just curious Rob...does Collectorknives.net have an actual store too, or are they strictly over the web?
ahh you made it to Mexico:) he he. Compared to Alaska that is. you guys are spoiled in lower 48 to me:) winters of only 2 or 3 months??? my god we have 7 or 8 months:)here... you might as well be in mexico compared to me rob:) I had 18 inchs of snow over a month ago.. :) different worlds I guess
Really enjoyed the video. I have a cabin in U.P.,was surprised to knivesshipfree.com store in town.Stopped to meet the crew and picked up 3 new bark river blades.
RIP Derrick. US 2 is a beautiful road to drive. My favorite place to go. Go up every year.
Such an amazing video. Puts humanity into my favorite online knife shop. Now I need to make a pilgrimage!
Very nice vid, showing "behind the KSF scenes". The impression highly contributes to the KSF people. Thanks for sharing Rob!
Nice that you were given the opportunity to tour the facility and take the video. I'll go check out their website now.

nice to see they use proper photography to show the knifes they sell as other sights do not, thank you derrick .
Seems like loyalty is very important to these guys which is something I can really get behind. It's such a rare thing these days but it's always something to admire when you encounter it.
