This kit is honestly a lot of fun out of box. For those interesting in customizing your gunpla, this kit already gives all kinds of ways to make your own version of the Ez-SR. You get that nice uniform look and it really captures the appeal you would get from other series the 08th MS Team.
WOw man! the quality of your videos is at the professional level. I love how you show the kits before being painted and then do a crazy paint job on them afterwards.voice over is also top notch, i can tell you have previous experience. liked and subscribed for sure!
damn, i just love the 08th ms team mobile suits. There just so much more refreshingly gritty, realistic, and unique compared to most gundam ms's which are usualy somewhere in between realistic and fantastical. Its overall design really makes this kit is my favorite in the build fighters series as it kind of defies this unspoken in between super and realistic robot law that defines most of the gundam robots. (ps. i'm loving the new rec. in G mech designs there pretty interesting, especialy the mach knife!)
+TYPE V3 this is a bit late but how does the elbow piece hold up,the circular bit that is sandwiched by two other pieces and a polycap,my original hguc ez8's arm broke at that circular piece, gladly i was able to hide this by adding wires like how it was in the show!
I couldn't agree more about how good this HG turned out. It's quite clear that Build Fighters is, more than ever, a promotional tool for great gunpla, but I don't have a problem with that since it's enjoyable and the quality of the kit backs such ambition up. The only thing I regret is that the grittier/more grounded designs get either underwhelming screen time (such as EZ-sr) or an amazing battle that makes you wish it stuck around for more episodes (mega-shiki). At least in the 1st season we had the Meijin's first two gunpla and the GM Sniper K9.
well hey i can't do something like that awesome , now that you mention it, it has that manga vibe when i looked at it the second time i watched your review
One point I feel is missed (maybe due to format and focus of your videos) is the veritable pile of extra pieces this kit comes with on the runners that are not used in the kit. With a few small exception pieces, this kit comes with enough parts to essentially recreate the original HGUC Ez8, sans the original feet and lower shield spikes. For that reason alone I would highly recommend this kit to the aspiring custom builder in all of us, as the sheer number of spare parts add a wide range of customization the kit can achieve with little excess fanaggling. Still loved the video regardless, keep up the good work!
***** That's entirely-fair, I'd say the custom build community's a small group compared to the vast majority of people purchasing this kit. Still, perhaps Build Fighters is looking to change that! (or just sell more model kits :3 )
Perfect paint applications. Couldn't imagine painting models. My hands are way too unsteady with a brush and the end result would look like crap. I envy your skill.
I love these gunpla reviews keep up the good work! Also I really love your weathering and also your painting I would be really happy if you do like a equipment show case that you use to paint in details and etc.Anyways keep up the great work!
Im just gonna sit here excitedly waiting for your Tryon 3 review to come out. *Remembers that the kit is still being designed. Grabs popcorn because it's gonna take a while.* lol
great review as always, i hope after gundam build fighters ends, you continue doing review of gunplas from others series, NOTE: great custom of the ez-sr
the weathering you did on these really made them pop a lot more as on its own with no paint they seem a bit .....dull even if the silhouettes on them are nice.....weathering another skill i wouldnt mind having XD
CobraCommanderTFW Weathering like this is unbelievably easy. It took me 15min, to do each one. Best part is that all you need is very little paint and an old paint brush.
***** mmmm im guessing your a paint guy rather then the gundam markers, as doing some of the paint you've done is pretty much impossible without a brush
Actually, I use almost everything at my disposal. Gundam Markers: mostly for small details Spray cans: When I need to recolor entire parts Paintbrush: only used for panel lining and weathering.
***** ah right currently im just using a gundam marker and rubber for the panel lines which is ok depending on the figure as some can be hard to do it to
Just a heads up the reason the side armor of the legs pop of is because the gundam ground type which is what the ez 8 is based of of and the ez sr is based on the ez 8 the beam sabers of the ground type were stored in the cavity of the armor
For people wondering how to dry-brush (weathering), google "Layman's Gunpla Guide" and go to the dry-brushing section. If you want to try them out, Tamiya also makes Weathering Master sets in various colors. They look like eye shadow make-up. The effect is slightly different, but it might be what you prefer as a modeler. Thanks for the always great review Type V3! Great handywork on the weathering. They all look amazing!
Andrew Estrada Fun Fact: I didn't want to do any weathering on these kits at all. But between testing and experimenting with different techniques and paints, I kept making too many mistakes. So I scrapped the original concept and this was the result.
WOW. Bro, can you provide a simple/short tutorial on how to make those weathering? You just made me want to buy those kits because of what you did. Awesome job!
Ah, this kit brings me back to the good ol’ days of the Black Tri-Stars. By the way, I am still surprised that Bandai have not announced any MG kits for this series (though I could be wrong).
Sick weathering, though I'm not a fan of buying all three kits. I've toyed with the idea of putting all the different parts together, possibly throwing some extra stuff onto a base jabber.
I can't wait for your reviews on the LBWS MK II, Star Winning, and Crossbone Full Cloth! Your filming is great! It'll be a shame if your gunpla interest ended with GBFT (as you mentioned somewhere below). I'm a lazy builder, so I generally do very little painting, but I take some of your ideas now and then, and apply them on my kits. I gave my Lightning a similar (too lazy to do all of it :P) paint scheme to yours. Skipped the first LBWS though. Gunning straight for the Full Burnern. Stay Awesome :)
the upcoming ez sr's I found it but it might not be true but what your saying has videos of it might be customs though its the maxima, foxhound, and maxima fox hound
Would really love to see you make various "How to" videos for modeling techniques. Your kits look amazing. Not only are your reviews of kits the best i have come across, but you have the best looking finished products. Unless you would like to keep your techniques a secret for your video reviews, sharing your experiences would be an awesome gift to those who would like to be better builders.
Mark John Rencher No secrets here, I just used basic techniques that I've learned by watching other tutorials here on TH-cam. But to be honest, I couldn't be bothered to make a tutorial video - I'm busy enough as it is.
Hey awesome video! I was just wondering what process you used to paint/weather these kits because they look amazing! Thinking of getting one or all three (;
type I asked this before but can you please make a video about the best kits you've built so far or at least tell me which is which from the best to worst :D
Personally, maybe cause i like Melee units, but i like the Infiltrator the most. BTW, that is some GREAT weathering. Do you have any tips in painting suits in general? like painting parts as a whole or separate? or painting with a brush vs a spray can?
Always paint parts separately, it's just easier. Generally, spray paint for entire pieces, brush on the smaller details. For example: all the gunmetal sections on this kit I painted all at once with a spray can. The weathering was done with a brush.
You're getting better at weathering. Great review as always. :) So, when will your courage be strong enough to review SOC GGG, if you don't mind me asking?
***** Well...yeah. I already bought one so it's not like I need you to convince me of that. Still, you deemed it 2014's best toy - isn't that review worthy?
lol, the sad and honest truth is that I really find it annoying to film large toys. It's why I don't review my SOCs, Macross, that PG Unicorn, etc. But I did do reviews on the larger Masterpiece Transformers, so it's not like I won't ever get around to them...
Sweet review lovely paint apps, these guys might not have a lot to them but with nice paint apps it goes a long way. If you don't mind me asking did you use black or grey paint for your panel lining on this guy??
Great review as always! I'm personally not a big fan of having a lot spare parts in a kit (it's a waste imo. Though I do appreciate spare parts that are there in case things break/go missing) ... Reason being is I'm not much of a custom builder and more of a out of box snap one instead. I like to have my kits remain as true to the source material as possible and also because of the time, money, and effort in doing custom jobs. So ya I'm a basic, but gunpla is freedom =).
It's quite the opposite actually. I love most of the HGBF kits (especially from the first season) that have a moderate amount of spare parts that compliment the itself gunpla (extra hands, extra weapons, polycaps, effect parts, weapon parts, etc). I haven't built many personally, but I've watched your HGBF reviews (some multiple times for one because it's really good) and I never noticed many kits having a large amount of spare parts besides kits using older molds like the HGBF Build Gundam MKII. What I mean by excessive spare parts is perhaps one's that drive up the cost of the kit substantially and one's that you can't really use unless you do a custom. I guess I'm cool with the HGBF using older molds that keep the original kit parts there if anyone wants to convert it back instead of having the custom from the show. Like you mentioned previously, if someone wants to build that entire team, there's a lot of spare parts lying around... I think i'm just discontent with paying for extra stuff that I don't need or the fact that I dislike having things wasted. But I'm just an ignorant out of box, snap builder... What would I know?
Meh, to each his own. I mean, in the case of the Ez-SR it costs 1800yen, which is basically stand HG price. Could of it been cheaper without the extra parts? Sure, but at that point I'd be arguing over a dollar or two. :/
Not use to buying gunpla in yen so I thought it'd be a bit more expensive than that (+$5 was what i was thinking). In that case it's worth having the extra parts and allows for more options. Anyways thanks for taking the time to reply back and as always keep up the good work =).
Steven Coronel There are some tutorials online, Basically, find a spot, and make the ink flow, if it's uneven, it will look nicer, I suggest you go on youtube and check for more in depth
Bruh Can't Even Personally, I prefer the Mega-Shiki (probably me favourite of all the HGBFs so far). But I do think the Ez-SR has more to offer as a complete package.
SunFighterZachary Let's see, for one kit... Building: 1.5 hours Painting/Panel Lining: 1 hours Weathering: 1 hour So just over 10 hours for all three, spread across three months. But compared to most, I'm very slow to bet you could do it a lot faster.
Thanks for always reply to my questions and stuff. Another question will you do a how to build a gunpla for beginners for well.. Beginners. Also could you tell me if you think using the amazing red warrior in a custom build is good idea
SunFighterZachary Tutorials aren't a thing I'm interested in doing at the moment. As for the ARW, I think any kit is good for a custom so long as you have an idea for it.
Actually I found it kind of questionable putting 3 into 1.Since if you want to form the whole team, you're gonna have to buy 3 anyway lol.It was nice that they had to put 3 into 1 tho, good for people who will just buy one.I mean, how often do we get like 3 in 1 stuff? It's kinda like the Strike Gundam with it's strike packs. You have to buy like 3 kits to get all the packs and it's just getting boring cuz you're building the same thing.
Hiruko Kagetane Like I said in the review, you can view the 3 in 1 gimmick as an optimist or pessimist. Either way, I think there's enough here to have fun with.
Your weathering is great with all three units. Honestly, it suits them more if you made a diorama for them. Still, I find this very unique.
I'm not quite at the stage where I can build out full dioramas.
Actually, the "claws" of the "Shields" are very light gray, they become blue when they use their electromagnetic ability.
This kit is honestly a lot of fun out of box. For those interesting in customizing your gunpla, this kit already gives all kinds of ways to make your own version of the Ez-SR. You get that nice uniform look and it really captures the appeal you would get from other series the 08th MS Team.
Nice paint and weathering, especially on the Hi-Mock... wish I had that kinda skill.
Ruzzel Jean Bañas You can! All you have to do is try!
I would easily spend 70 dollars to get all 3 suits in one big kit. instead of separate purchases.
i came from the future, and HGBDR line up gonna sadden you WAY more :)
WOw man! the quality of your videos is at the professional level. I love how you show the kits before being painted and then do a crazy paint job on them afterwards.voice over is also top notch, i can tell you have previous experience. liked and subscribed for sure!

That Snibal-Drago-Gira reference tho.

Perfect paint applications. Couldn't imagine painting models. My hands are way too unsteady with a brush and the end result would look like crap. I envy your skill.
LoneSoul06 I have good news for you: to weather like this, the last thing you want is a steady hand!
I know this is not a new comment but... WHAT A GREAT JOB ON THE WEATHERING!!!! Keep up the good work. :)
Thanks
i love they way you painted them the amount of ware really ads to the look of the model and makes them appear almost alive
Interesting, most people say it makes them look black and white.
i think it depends on the scenery
I love these gunpla reviews keep up the good work! Also I really love your weathering and also your painting I would be really happy if you do like a equipment show case that you use to paint in details and etc.Anyways keep up the great work!
Phoom Suriyentragorn Want to know what I use? Gundam markers and a very old paint brush.
Thanks so much!!

man your damaged paint job is slick. im really diggin it
great review as always, i hope after gundam build fighters ends, you continue doing review of gunplas from others series, NOTE: great custom of the ez-sr
Erich Wamprechtshamer Yeah, I too wonder if my gunpla interest will fade after Build Fighters.

Man the EZ-SR looks like it's made of metal wish I can paint like that.
warren lam You can! Just got to practice!
I love the Ez-8 so this baby boy is a must-buy for me.
Dat weathering looks fantastic
Jacob Horsch Thanks!
What are some painting techniques you could give or vids you can suggest!! The painting I love it, it suits the gundams tri so well!
I enjoyed this kit. I did a mix and bought the k9 back pack and made a ez-sniper k9.

I really like how you paint the Gundams in weathering.😊
Andrew Estrada Fun Fact: I didn't want to do any weathering on these kits at all. But between testing and experimenting with different techniques and paints, I kept making too many mistakes. So I scrapped the original concept and this was the result.
There's already en Ez-Sr with all parts attached at the same time, the Hobby Pro Shop HG Ez-Sr Maxima or something like that
WOW. Bro, can you provide a simple/short tutorial on how to make those weathering? You just made me want to buy those kits because of what you did. Awesome job!

andyyu2003 Nope, no MGs. Yet.
Well, not for Try, but there is a MG Dark Matter coming from BF
I know it's probably a pipe dream, but I am wishing that Bandai would make a MG of this, and with that in mind, a Gundam EZ-8 2.0
I feel like seeing a black and white video, it's weird
But it's not! Isn't the illusion amazing?
+TYPE V3 yeah it's amazing and weird
ur right lol
@@TYPEV3 the hand and the blue destroy the illusion
I would give the Eliminator some more melee weapons, new color scheme, some more sharp points, and some other stuff probably
also some clear parts
When detailed (colors/parts separated, etc), they look like robots from the Borderlands franchise.
Sick weathering, though I'm not a fan of buying all three kits. I've toyed with the idea of putting all the different parts together, possibly throwing some extra stuff onto a base jabber.
EricWalks Yep, I'd say having all three is restricted for just the diehard fans. One is still good though!

Damn, I'd like to see this kit in Master Grade :S
also wow you've improved so much!
theArcanaOFZero Thanks! Still, nowhere near the level I want to be at but at least I'm moving forward. (I think)
i am looking forward to seeing you review the Star Winning Gundam from try fighter gundam. and the rest of new gundams of that show.

Could you link those videos. I want my gunpla to be beautiful as well.
Wish you could do a weathering tutorial. Great review
den2002ph There's plenty of others who've already done great weathering videos on YT! Don't need me to spout redundant information.
What do I do with stickers when painting? Also can I use the stickers for masking?
i wonder if its possible to make joints out of transparent plastic
If wasnt for the stikers and other details I would think you filmed this in Black & White XD
Padoca85 Don't forget the beam sabers!
that last pun though.
Holy fuck that weathering is amazing. Whats the step by step to achieve that
WHat kind of paint did you use? I'm thinking about buying one, but i wanted to paint it like Inaho's Kataphractos from Aldnoah Zero.
Would the thruster back pack work with the 1/144 RGM-79N Custom?
I like the battle damage effect.
Do you clear coat once you’ve weathered them up by the way they look awesome.
That weathering is hawt, what brush did you use? It looks smexy.
Hey awesome video! I was just wondering what process you used to paint/weather these kits because they look amazing! Thinking of getting one or all three (;
Gabriel Tiongco Simple dry brushing.
HOLY!! Great review!
type I asked this before but can you please make a video about the best kits you've built so far or at least tell me which is which from the best to worst :D
did the kit come with all 3 of the gundams or is it only one gundam with some extra parts?
Albert Dhoumo One gundam with all the parts.
***** what type of paint did you use to get the grayish silver color. Also how did you do your weathering.
Tamiya Gunmetal.
Drybrushed with Titanium Silver and then Gunmetal
And plus aren't they already black and white?
Can you do a tutorial for your weathering it looks amazing and model tutorials are small on TH-cam :/
kidcrimson66 I'm not confident in my own skill yet to start teaching others.
So that's why it took a bit longer than usual, you tried build the three!
theArcanaOFZero Yep. I bought and built one each month over the past three months. Didn't want to wear myself out.
*****
Man, I did all 3 in a week. By the time I got to the third one, I didn't even use the manual.
Kinda want now
what did you use for the weathering ?
that's so good.

Angel Torres Black. I don't believe in subtly - I like my lining BOLD.

What technique is used to make it look worn down? (the black scorchy marks)
Use weathering markers

+JTA (Joint.Task.Airsoft) Dry brushing
what type of paint would be prefered? i currently use a dark grey to silver gundam marker and then spread the paint out with qtips
I use anything and everything. Mostly cheap dollar store stuff.
What did you use to create that battle wear on the kit ?
Also great review ! :)
***** Drybrushed with Titanium Silver and Gunmetal.
did u buy three Ez-sr gundam kits
whats the wearthering method used ?
can this combine all the weapon like p bandai maxima?
Wow nice video bro.very amazing gundam custm.can you teach me how make battle damage like that?
Look up dry brushing. It's very simple.
After that? Do you use paint from tamiya or hobby? I really want make gundam like that.
Sorry, Drybrushing is the final step. Paint/detail the gundam in whatever method you like. After that, you basically wreck it with dry brushing.
oh ok i got it. thanks bro
Can you give me some tips so I can weather my gunpla like yours?
Edward Kim Look up dry brushing.
Alright thanks
Maxima? Foxhound ?? Pls???
Do you Airbrush or do you just use the Markers for your painting?
FoNgThOnG Spray cans, markers and paintbrushes.

Alexabmxer Nahhhhhhhhhhh
whyyyyy???!!!
that last thought of yours :D LETS TRY ON!!
Not what I was referring to but I suppose that works!
I don't think you said if it was good for beginners or not because if so I can make a really cool looking custom.
Epicshow64 Gaming and Moar Honestly, all bandai kits are beginner friendly.
Ok thanks, I'll probably upload a video of my custom when it's done.
How long did it take you to build, paint and weather all three of them?
SunFighterZachary Let's see, for one kit...
Building: 1.5 hours
Painting/Panel Lining: 1 hours
Weathering: 1 hour
So just over 10 hours for all three, spread across three months.
As for the ARW, I think any kit is good for a custom so long as you have an idea for it.
thank you
What do you use for panel lining?
ducky momo Enamel paint.
you ended up buying 3. i still on the fence whether or not i need to buy 3 :/
Just get one.
Do you have a try burning gundam
mayvel mirasol Of course.
Either way, I think there's enough here to have fun with.
is this 3 gundam in one kit? please answer
No there is only enough in the box for one kit you have to choose which variation you want
and what happens to the extra gun that left in the kit?
You can either keep the extra parts in a box or you can customize it :3
this kit include a butt for the extra submachine gun??
Demian Clark Idk
