    Completely agree we need more shoes with stability in the forefoot. I was just watching your video on post tib and I figure I’m one of those that doesn’t come out of pronation but rolls off the inside of the medial big toe. It’s been tough to fix but this type of stability would help.
    Best podcasts guys. Keep up the good work!

    Congrats on the 200th episode. I still remember the special episode 100 and I'm glad you guys kept it going. I like the depth of your videos on various subjects and it is quite interesting that despite the detail of the subject the way you guys explain is very easy to understand for non-native speaker like myself. Your videos like 'Science of Blood for Runners' had a direct positive impact on my health. It was also fun to watch episodes like 'What is like to be a runner footwear designer' and the unforgettable episode with Geoff Burns about Midsole Foams.
    For the future, if you guys made a scientific episode on nerve injuries in running would be awesome. Maybe how to differentiate between other common injuries, how to avoid them how to alleviate the symptoms etc. I'm asking this because I was shocked when I realised how easy to overlook saphenous nerve problems.
    Thank you team DoR.

    Type A was 13/17mm. Fastwitch was 15/19mm. Reebok Run Fast Pro was 17/20mm.
    Durability is always hit or miss and it varies by brand. Saucony typically has weak uppers. Puma has been very durable shoes for me. Adidas shoes have also been very durable when using full Continental rubber outsoles (I put over 750 on the Prime X). Unfortunately they have been using more of this textile rubber outsole material, which wears through super quick.

    Topo Designs is here in Colorado, so you were close! ;-) Congratulations to Matt. I would like to see the podcast focus on foot and ankle strengthening and the use of minimalist shoes in our weekly shoe rotations. As a trail ultra runner, spend hours each week just working on foot and ankle strength enhancement-using weights, plyometrics, and barefoot drills. Interested in your take on how shoes affect foot and ankle power and endurance. Thank you!

      Topo Designs is different from Topo Athletics. Topo Athletics is the footwear company and is in Massachusetts

    Congrats on episode 200! Shout out to BJ/Bob... adding to what Nate said, I'd like to see you folks get together... and then make a podcast in a different place other than your basements🤣

    I’d love to see a regular “Research Review” segment, ala Mass Office Hours. Any news in research on running biomechanics, nutrition, training.
    Edit:
    Also, as a lateral midfoot striker myself- more Andrea please 😁

    Agree on shoes getting less durable while cost goes up. This is compounded for heavier runners. Foams are getting so soft that heavier runners see options dwindling.

    • @jliving02
      @jliving02 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      to be absolutely fair, being heavy as a runner doesn’t make much sense. obviously brands want to cater to everybody that’s willing to buy from them, but running in itself is a physical activity that is allows you to lose weight pretty quickly and get better as you become lighter. if you’re years into running and still heavy, you either don’t take it seriously enough (as it relates to weight loss), or you are unfortunately a rare case and you just kinda have to deal with not having the resources (shoes in this case) that you might want. maybe i’m wrong

    • @KRYAN-e3o
      @KRYAN-e3o 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Heavy isn’t the same as fat or unfit or even a pronator.

    • @jliving02
      @jliving02 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KRYAN-e3o but does heavy not imply that there is weight to be lost? or at least a desire to lose more weight? it’d be different if you said like large or big (meaning heavy because of stature)

    • @KRYAN-e3o
      @KRYAN-e3o 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Heavy means one who imparts more force into the foam (and what if someone needs to lose weight. Not all runners are 150 pounds).

    • @jliving02
      @jliving02 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KRYAN-e3o what i’m really saying is these “heavy” people who have these shoe needs/preferences need to take accountability for losing the weight more than anything. it’s a small market of runners and therefore shoe brands aren’t going to cater to them. it’s just logic. they don’t make football gear for extremely skinny people for the same reason. lol

    I'm sure people would be lining up for a shoe marketed as "less."
    I do mourn the death of low stack heights.

    There is no way durability of shoes increases. Companies are trying to make money. If people are keeping shoes longer then they are not buying shoes as often.
