And Bangkok Airways know they got you by the balls if you want to get to Samui fast. Flying a low cost carrier to Surat Thani and taking the bus/ferry to Samui may cost a lot less but the travel time is like 5-6 hours
I would be grateful for any meal you get especially on a very short flight from Melbourne to Sydney on the plane we always get a full hot or cold meal dish i love it
As huge as the Thai shorthaul market is, a true boutique airline could probably work well. Other than the meal on the short flight, I didn't see anything special about that. At least offer an audio entertainment option and a headrest. Offering onboard meal choice would take too long, as you'd have some passengers dithering over the choices. The solution might be to unbundle and offer preordered meals.
The image of this airline as being "special or boutique" is mostly not true. I have flown them many times in the decade I have lived in Thailand. Their fares are normally 30 to 40% than it's competition. For the extra price one gets a small meal (chicken curry and rice) and access to a lounge (a place with wi fi, some coffee/tea and a few small snacks. I finally learned my lesson and realized flying Thai Airways, Nok Air, Liona Air or even Air Asia is a better bargain for flights under 2 hours.
if u can, film the process/steps on screen at the self check-in machine, people that dont fly like me would learn how to do it. I know it's extra work, blurring the personal info though.
Nice TR, thanks for taking us along. Like 62 from a new friend🙏❤️
Excellent video!

Low cost airlines won't lower the cost on this trip since Bangkok Airways owns airport and sets airport fees.
You get a hot meal on a 45 minute flight and you are crying 😭😭😭😭 I cannot believe it 😢😢😢😢
😂😂
I’m not sure where you are seeing $80 for this flight . A year out its $140-160 each way.

How long did it take for your bags to arrive? Also no passport control for domestic flights?
Bags took about 10 minutes. Why would there be passport control for domestic flights?
@@OnTimeReports I remember going through passport control at samui once but that might have been a flight from Hong Kong, which is different.
Thai smile used to do this route but they stopped flying years ago

Thai airways control that route. We paid $12,000 business class for 2 from Australia to Koh Samui last year. We love Koh Samui. Will head back again.
