LMAO, in all honesty Wonderwing is so much better than Flare Blitz. It's faster, even though it's bad on shield it's better than Flare Blitz and it doesn't do self damage. The drawback is that it can only be used 5 times per stock but generally you won't need to use it more than that if you're good.
But if someone's holding your golden feather for you, then you won't be able to use the move...

Take his super armor on every smash first then we can talk about buffing his recovery

If you want him to have a better recovery and be more balance you have to remove the super armor on every smash attack.
Otherwise he will be OP.
Like right now to beat Mac you have to cheese him at the ledge which doesn't feel that rewarding as doesn't requires to much skills.
To improve little mac you have to get rid of that stupid gimmick and make it a more balanced fighter.
He is already one of the fastest and hardest hitter in the entire game, great frame data on the ground.
So taking his super armor on the smash is a fair compromise to get a better recovery
