    That sample flip is so dope 🔥🔥🔥 Please finish it :) Just record some flips in the sequencer and multipad export those ones you like. Mix, arrange and master the beat. Because now you are in love with the beat. You are feeling it. In a few weeks or months you won't finish it anymore. The excitement will be gone by then. Imagine in two years you will think about that dope beat you made but you don't have a finished file you can listen to or show to anyone. I would be much more feared about not having any result in the future than of being disappointed after the process. Maybe having a greater goal could help. Like a beat set you want to perform or a beat tape. If that beat is just a part of a greater thing like a beat tape, it may be more likely you will finish it.

      Thanks for the advice and help! I'm going to try and work harder on getting ideas finished over the next few weeks. The 404MK2 is probably the best device for doing that with how easy it is to record/export to computer!

    great vid again 🔥never experienced the fear of finishing the beat. As soon as I have my sample and drums, I imagine that there is one or two best ways to chop and lay stuff down and am trying to find it. Its a fun concept. The weird thing that happens to me is that when I make a beat that is still not exported yet and hear it like the next day, I might make huge changes to it and make it something different but it never hurts the beat, its always way better. Unfortunatelly that keeps me from making a beat a day.

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nice, I've had the same before as well. I've come back to some chops the following day and made a chop pattern that is 1000x better than the one I originally made!

    solution: leave it the way you like it, no matter what other beatmakers and producers, engineers, etc. are going to say.
    None of these assholes are going to bring food to the table with their perfectionism.
    normal, ordinary people are the ones who bring you food on the table.
    it cost me a lot to learn this and many still fall into this pitiful game.

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Appreciate the comment but that isn’t really what I’m concerned about. It’s more about how I feel about the beat when it’s finished. What I was trying to say is sometimes when you feel like you are on to a good idea there can be a fear of going through the process and being personally disappointed at the end. I’m sure I’m not alone with this and it’s part of the curse of being creative. But yeah I agree with your points. You gotta tread your own path and ignore baseless criticism

    Just found your channel, and subscribed. I have a tremendous amount of trouble making quick and big decisions on a beat. Biggest blockers for me are intros or outros...finding rhe right ways to start a beat. Rare I have a good idea there. So that keeps beats in limbo for days and even weeks sometimes...feels like a fear of making a decision that could "ruin" the dopeness of the beat. If its something I could stop, tell me how lmao 😂

      @@spvidz Cool. I just set up the SP404SX as an outboard FX piece and I was hoping I could figure out a way to arrange things a little plainly on the intro and outro and use the 404's FX to kind of get something going....maybe sprinkle some effects over the beat and mix in some other FX in the beat. Kind of out of ideas...

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a bit of an open ended question but quick answer - I guess you gotta either work on how you start getting more listens or find another purpose for your beat making that is more rewarding. I was trying to talk more about the process of getting to an end point rather than how a beat/beats are received once they are out in the wild, but maybe your point could be something I could cover in another video 👍

    Yes! Acoustic treatment will help immensely. Before you invest in a new microphone, buy some acoustic foam wedges for the upper corners of your room. That will kill a lot of standing waves (especially bass) that can be problematic. You can go cheaper with the walls and ceiling with homemade panels. Glenn Fricker did a how-to video years ago on his channel. Add couple of rugs here and there and you're all set. You will have immediate better results, you can work longer with less ear fatigue and you'll just BE HAPPIER!
