You're right. I'm speaking for my husband...he has been looking for a while now. We live in NJ and the only shops around are run by Hispanic men who are great at hair cutting, but not so great at beard trimming. Hence the reason I'm watching a million beard trimming videos...he's trusting me to trim his beard 😨😱
Crystal R I'm in Podunkville Arkansas, there are 0 shops, there's an abandoned one that has the little swirlysign and everything, looks legit but it's been closed since I moved here 7 years ago. There are only women hair cutters here, or gay men women hair cutters and no offense but neither know how to cut beards, I went to a "sports clips barber shop" walk in and there's only women barbers, I didn't think anything about it, she cut my hair great, asked if I needed my beard trimmed, ( about 5 inch fullbeard) I said sure, and she got the clippers close with a guard, i thought maybe she's going to fade my sideburns into my hair, and she just went straight up my jaw, cut it all about 1/8 of an inch into a , thin , limpbizkit kanye chin strap. I was speechless. I went home and took a straight razor to it and just shaved everything off and cried in the sink.
Steven Benton Damn, thanks for the story bro. I am growing a beard myself right now and do not look forward to my first time trimming my beard. I will do everything in my power to make sure I find someone who has knowledge and care for beards before I even think about letting it trimmed.

I don't get all the hate on the guys beard! "He should just cut it short" why? Looks great! I too have weak growth under my bottom lip, but that shouldn't stop a man from experiencing a nice long beard. Also, self-esteem issues regarding beards is a real thing especially now that they're becoming more mainstream, especially a lot of the young viewers. we shouldnt try to bring people down, but instead raise it up.

Richard Cruz if you're anywhere near Scottsdale, check out Shaving Grace. It can be pretty tough to get an appointment on short notice, but it's a great shop.

Love this type of barbers where a guy with brand new old school tattoos will give you the exact same haircut as the last six people who’s hair he cut and then not tend to the parts of the beard that actually need attention.

That guy could have saved alot of length on his beard had he been using some product int here to keep it moisturized before it started getting all stringy

Getting the beard trim can be scary at first but once you get it done by someone who knows what they are doing, making it look fuller is totally worth it
I would prefer the before hairstyle but the beard trim looks great!
Mike S I would have liked the sides clean shaven off with a blade but that's just my style, back when I had hair that is 😁
The beard trim was definitely the highlight of this one.
Josh did a fantastic job bringing it in. The customer did seem really happy with his haircut though.

Yeah, very true. Years ago I just shifted into shaving all my hair off periodically since there's not enough left on top to warrant a barber / stylist visit. But while I had it, I did get to do a lot with it, so I did have my fun.
I started losing mine and then said to hell with it. I've been shaving my head ever since.

This barber is great at his craft. He was giving the customer what he wanted. It seems like he barely touched it, but that guy kept saying he wanted the length. He should have just let the barber work
Should have faded the beard a bit where the side burns are at other than that it is a flawless cut.

I've had a zero since I was about 25, so 20 years or so.
I use clippers on shortest setting and never razor shave. Grew a beard for a few years and got rid of,it around last summer.
Like the beard look, just hate the messy growing out phase.

The barber brought the life back to his beard with a really nice trim. Cut shorter the beard goes really well with his cool new haircut, much better than a shave would have done.
I haven't paid for a haircut in over 10 years. I would pay to go to this place. Awesome barber, awesome music, awesome set up.

I'm sorry to admit, I am definitely not a beard fan. With that said, this gentleman is very handsome and I found myself wishing that he'd have his beard trimmed up to at least the contour of his face. But I know that's just one woman's opinion. Great job overall.
I'm a woman and I feel the same. I like mustaches on men a lot, but not much of a beard fan, particularly these long, bushy ones. I do love watching these barber videos, though, and seeing these men get cleaned up.

one thing that i have learnt from your videos (and just being out in public) is that some people just let their beard grow and they don't care about getting an even thickness etc.. they just think that a long beard is "cool" but it just looks like a fox tail with scab
Some guys really dig the natural look. One of the reasons a lot of people grow beards in the first place is that they think that they don't have to worry about their face anymore. However, with the occasional trim and the use of some products, they can really take their facial hair to the next level. It's always kind of cool to see a guy come in with a wild beard like this and walk out with a beautiful shaped and managed beard.

Beardbrand yes of course but it can't be too thin.. his beard wasn't bad at all because he actually had a structure to it but some people just have it totally wild and if it's to thin looking the cool aspect of it goes away but that's just my opinion :).. the great thing about beards is that you can rock them however you want :)

Is there anything that he can do to prevent such wispy hair towards the bottom of the beard, to prevent the see thru effect? Any products? Or is that just genetics? Would appreciate an answer BB, thnx
Typically the best thing to do to prevent he wispy hairs is to get your beard trimmed every few months. That'll take the dead and wispy ends off and encourage healthier growth.

What Jack said.....all tht at the ends is most likely dead and/or under nourished...cutting it and taking care of the new growth can make ur beard/hair grow heathier & longer without tht scragginess

Some guys just simply grow thin scraggly beards which don't fill in.
I got the same problem so I keep it short.

That is for me the most ‘natural’ type of cut ima big fun of such 👌 takes time and big patience to leave beard till it get to the point of big transparency but it helps along the trimming cutting lines showing up naturally. Big up to the barber and great vid 👍

I can’t find a barber in my area near Clermont Florida who has a clue what to do with a beard. I went to one barber who destroyed my beard cutting back about three months growth in one swipe with the clippers.((ight after I told him I was trying to grow it and just wanted someone to help define the shape and borders.) He didn’t do a great job on my hair either.

Not to be harsh but the barber left a lot of bulk on the sides, this is a growing habit with modern day barbers who neglect clipper over comb. You shouldn't need to run a grade 2 over the 1 because you should have flicked the line out naturally and then blended the rest in with clipper over comb.
Was gonna day a few darker areas next to lighter areas and a very harsh dark patch of hair at the sides beard trim could have been faded also and clipped over comb would have been the best to keep the haircut nice and fluent although not the worse haircut in the world
Nah, thinning scissors definitely have a place but I've noticed more and more barbers use it to rectify mistakes with blending.
Just to clarify, the guy is still clearly a good barber and will improve. He just needs to go work a couple of weeks with an older barber to learn some of the forgotten techniques not taught in schools ( In the UK btw, US schools are far better and still teach them as *basics* before you learn any thing else) any more and he'll steal all of his workers clients!

Beards look 200 times better when you ger rid of the longer hairs. People should accept that it is much better to get a shorter fuller look than longer beard with weak transparent edges. Rather spend 2 years waiting for it to properly fill in than look like someone who doesn't take care of himself.

I would hit the sides a lil more with the number 2 clip open and closing a lil more to lighten the dark line use your mirror so you can really see the dark spots on the sides
I love the look but I prefer more of a triangular beard with that haircut.

Finally a barber that uses scissors. I am a female version of this hairstyle only the front I have long to my chin and yeah, purple. I have seen watching the American stylists and they almost never use the scissors and they are crazy about the hairlines. The sharp corners looks so unnatural and hurrendes. This was really cool.
