  • I have found a method that seems to work well for kick starting my 4 stroke dirt bike. I just bought a 2003 Yamaha WR450F with a 478 Big Bore Kit. The bike has a few quirks that will need to be addressed but I think this is a good project bike for the channel. The Yamaha WR450F is an extremely versatile platform that I want to use for everything from a road legal dirt bike to eventually a snow bike. Stay tuned!

Good question, I only have experience with the carbureted version. I would think it would be more important to have a battery in yours, but if it has a kick starter, it should start.

Does this method work on a wr 450 2011??

It’s worth a shot, a 2011 is carbureted, so should be a similar set up

You need 06/07 best WRF450CC ever

If I ever get rid of this bike, it would be for something fuel injected to be a better candidate as a snowbike. Just out of curiosity what makes the 06/07 so good?
