I am desperately awaiting more news on the RSI Galaxy. Base building, and making my home in the verse is the thing I'm looking forward to the most. I can't wait to see how all that is going to come into the game.
I have a galaxy and a Zeus and am just hoping they both come out this year. Im also hoping RSI releases a salvage ship so that way i can have my entire fleet as rsi and be able to have every ship i need for base building, also have a daily driver, and a fighter for the miscreants.
@@NomadHorizon I have both of those too. Right now I'm enjoying the C1 and MSR as my daily drivers. Data running and scanning I'm also eagerly awaiting for the MSR's intended loops. Still love that ship even if it's under protected and under gunned for it's size.
I think once they get 4.0 out, they really need to work on stability. With Pyro out, the loose server mechanics will all be there I think, so making sure netcode issues like box missions working 100% of the time is what they need to focus on to make a good first impression for potential players.
I think they are working on this as part of the 'bigger picture', no? They can't really have stability as long as the servers are being overworked, and the servers will be overworked until they get server meshing in. They can't really reduce it to the max til they get dynamic server meshing in. And they can't really, really improve things until they have all of that and server replication... no? Wouldn't optimization be a bit of a waste until they've rolled out those three together, at least in the PTU?
Not that I know how long any of that will take. Supposedly they'll have server meshing with 4.0, but it won't be on a planetary, let alone ship scale like they've talked about.... more like one server per solar system. My guess is that if they get 4.0 out by Christmas, they'll work towards something like servers for individual planets/moons in 2025. Who knows.
Once the first system is out, it will likely open the floodgates to new ones.... however there is going to be a LONG ironing period after pyro comes out,.
This is what I love about Star Citizen. They promote and reward helping your fellow citizen. It’s through acts of generosity and helpfulness that networks and friendships are formed
Wouldnt they need the ships first to test the gameplay loop tho? Like salvage, they would need a salvage ship before the salvage system, so they know that the ship actually can salvage?
@@DJHumla by that logic, they've *had* shops to test this on, and still haven't. Sadly I don't think they're ever going to, especially if people keep spending, so they have no incentive to change.
I bought the game a week before all of this, didnt get the discount package ship, but the cutter does it job. This game is my new addiction. Thanks for helping me understand what's going on. I like having a game where i have questions, cause it means theres so much to learn.
I think this invictus has shown just how capable the team is now. We got 3 ships straight to flyable, modularity and at least 1 concept in the form of the drake ship. I know invictus is a major event but i feel like IAE will be even bigger
Best speculation about the ship @7:20 is that it's a new starter from Crusader or maybe some other manufacturer that doesn't have a starter yet: Anvil or Argo? I'd expect it to appear at IAE.
This could be an exploration ship for 2 players since there is none currently, whether ingame or even in concept. Personally, I'd like it to be a Consolidated Outland ship since their line-up is quite embryonic compared to other manufacturers. The angular shape reminds me a bit of the Nomad and it would fit their "frontier/pioneer" style.
Star citizen is in such a good spot right now. Other than server issues with the huge influx because of free fly, the game runs really well. Cannot wait for them to finish up the core technology behind the game
I did a bounty qualification and a VLRT in a rental Firebird. It took almost the entire 4000 ballistic rounds in the Firebird to kill a Cutter in the first mission and an Aurora in the second. That doesn't seem normal.
I'm looking forward to personal hangers, I can get a full setup ship running without going to many locations just to place a Rover or Cyclone and depending on the ship a C8 as well.
I know what I WANT the new Drake ship to be; my original design for what became the Corsair. But as for what it actually will be, I have no idea. A cargo ship, a pioneer competitor, a solar sailer, who knows?
So the Firebird is the same price as the base Sabre, that’s understandable I suppose. What I was really looking for was that black with red trim skin, CIG showed in their initial Sabre Firebird tweet. Especially since it seems like they are making all skins standardized to fit all Sabres.🇺🇦🇭🇹🇵🇸
Passenger transport will be introduced when NPCs are able to transit to not create missions dependable on players availability. That would make those impossible to complete sometimes.
I am hoping that the new Drake ship isn't something massive. We already have the Kraken waiting on development, and if they add another big ship it's unlikely it would come any time soon. Here's hoping the "big shadow" is more metaphorical than literal.
Firebird looks interesting, but missile boats exaccerbate anaspect of ballistics that I don't personally care for, which is longevity. I trend towards energy loadouts because I don't want my guns to get to the click-click-clicky part. I'm hoping for a gunboat variant, but I think my Lightning would prevent such a ship from finding a home in my hangar.
The 'big shadow' might refer to the size of the newly announced Drake ship, but I hope that it refers to it´s planned role or capabilities. I think that SC does not really need another capital ship in the backlog. So, I hope that it will be something smaller but very useful
This is probably not a super common opinion, but i would be really interested to see what a medical or industrially-oriented ship from crusader would be like.
I enjoying the views of the Polaris, but CIG really needs to start thinking about their designs (unless they are intentional leaving vulnerabilities). The Polaris needs at least one more turret because it has a huge blind spot to the lower rear of the ship. The tail turret is blocked facing down. The side turrets can't cover top or bottom and the engines block even more to the rear. The heavy underside turret has a structural element blocking fire toward the rear preventing it from covering said rear or even mid-range on the belly. All the ships are designed for in atmosphere combat, but they need to start thinking in 3 dimensional combat and operation. Ships meant to remain in space 100% shouldn't have a belly but a core or axis. Still excited, just hope they fix it.
I'm looking forward (eventually) to the Crucible now that modularity is in. An odd thing that I think that CIG could add that would be super fun is to give us something that launches those fireworks they use for the fleet. No real in game use, but it'd be fun to play with.
Regarding the unidentified ship @7:20 - It’s clearly the RSI Zeus… you can see easily identifiable lines on the body towards the wing tips etc… plus look at the angles…. Definitely an RSI design.
With pyro and engineering coming we need afleet support vehicle. Whether a carrier equiped to supply smaller ships for firefighting and medical or repair. Or just a big ship that does that itself
Release the Kraken! 😂 Probably the Kraken will be the main fleet support ship for the outlaw systems the same way the ships of the Invictus Fleet are for the lawful UEE.
This year is shaping up to be exciting! im still guessing that the Drake Concept is either going to be the long rumored "Fatterpillar", or the "Corvette class" that was mentioned at the bar citizen a few months ago
Glad to see the project turn a corner. My only concern is the speed that they are able to produce/update ships. Until they can get it down from 1 year to ~3 months for a medium ship concept to release, I don't see how they will move to 1.0 any time sooner than. 3 years from now ... And that makes me sad
I am looking forward to that one ship that you said you didn't know what it is, I hope it's an advanced starter from RSI or Anvil that competes with the avenger series and 300 series (as in interceptor with bed and cargo), if it's an RSI ship it'll probably be the best of the bunch.
I missed the updates on the Zeus MK2s delays until now, the ES is the only variant I haven't bought, although I might upgrade one of my Cutlass Black's to one, having two exploration/touring ships might be a smart move
I think Fleet Week isn't doing so hot because the warbonds just don't seem to be the ones that would sell the most, or maybe I don't get it since I'm not a major mil-spec pilot. As for the Drake ship, i'd like something to slot in between the Corsair and the Kraken that is more of a battleship.
Eye tracking looks like it would greatly improve immersion and ability to look around in combat, just haven't been able to try it for the price of the Tobii. Going to give Beam a try for sure.
i was hoping for the galaxy this year, thought maybe one of those in the citcon teaser was it, but guess not. THe other onje I'd love to see is the Railen, but thats unlikely, though John Crew did say it was scheduled to be in the pipeline this year i thought.
Someone posted a video of getting into the Drake Hall. No ships were in yet but the signs were. They did not see anywhere for the new ship and the holo room was just the Kraken. Maybe they got into an old hall but the elevator worked to get out.
I’m the most excited for base building . Interested to see how they will tackle that! But that being said the persistent hangers and cargo elevator are the next best thing and I can’t wait for those either lol.
Hoping to see the Clipper Zeus this year! My true love is the freelancer MAX, but without a gold pass it's just not as functional as the Zeus, so I'm likely going to go for that for the time being.
I can't wait until I have an apartment I can call my own. Maybe one day they'll evolve the apartment system, have different sized apartments that you would rent for a monthly fee depending on size
Agreed! That could be interesting, having personalized apartments over the cookie cutter habs, I'd like to be able to hang up photos or keep personal items that I brought back from travels and decorate the place. Maybe we might be able to live on an outpost someday too.
Even the smallest ship can cast a large shadow if it flies close to the sun - yeah I think the Drake is a CAPITAL ship... Liking the fleet week so far and look forward to when they have the base building and farming Expo rofl.
im expecting the new drake ship to be the equivalent to the galaxy. they need a large/sub capital to fit in between the kraken and caterpillar. knowing drake specializes in utility and offensive option, it make sense
to be fair we are in a stupidly expensive time to just live for most and tittering on a recession. so less sale is to be expected sadly. also that blurred ship is the RSI Zeus
I actually have an MSR and a pirate paint job for it (It's not very piraty, just burnished steel) but it still looks good. I'm pretty happy with that, at least so far.

I hope one of those ships is the Constellation series gold standard. With the upcoming MFD update, that would make sense to me.
I hope they fix more things in the 3.23 cycle
Likely will spend heavy amount to dial in the desync and server performance to prepare for server meshing.
They did mention distribution centers are coming in 2.23.x patch so I am pretty certain they will fix a lot of things and not just go straight to 4.0
Once the first system is out, it will likely open the floodgates to new ones.... however there is going to be a LONG ironing period after pyro comes out,.
@@Exo98761Aren’t they already in game? Hangars and cargo missions etc are for 3.23.x

I like the partnership with the Luna Wolves (nice 40k reference btw). It is good to see orgs involving themselves in this way and sponsoring creators.

Lookup “CCU chaining” if you’re new. Really great way to cheaply upgrade your game package ship over time as the game develops.
Since I saw X-Men, I have a serious obsession with Aegis Retaliator.
See the dropship in 'ALIENS' yet? Pretty big influence there.
If they are 20% behind last year, I wonder what the new Sabre and to be announced Drake ship will do to those numbers in the new few days.

Was really hoping for the Galaxy to be on sale a few days ago, but no luck. Hopefully it'll come again with the IAE
Well the Galaxy isn't a military ship, so it should be for sale around IAE!
Looking for am LTI Galaxy or Pioneer for IAE.
@@vik12D same here, I got a Pulse ready and lined up to chain to it
4.0 and Pirate Week happening at the same time would be a fitting pair
You know, if you keep calling it "the fat Fury" that nickname is gonna stick around again like when you decided to shorten it to MSR 😆
I want the Zeus, I do like the pulse and the medic rover. They fixed the flashing lights on the back of the MSR. That’s really nice.
The firebird should be fun someday, when missiles actually work correctly.
I did a bounty qualification and a VLRT in a rental Firebird. It took almost the entire 4000 ballistic rounds in the Firebird to kill a Cutter in the first mission and an Aurora in the second.

me too buddy
The galaxy looks really cool. I'm super keen to pickup one of the small crew ships like the Constellation, Corsair, Galaxy, etc
With all the medical stuff going on the Apollo should be soon... (tm) As far as Drake ships, aren't we still waiting for the Kraken?
Grabbed an Ironclad Assault from DefenseCon, excited to use it as a miniature mobile base with the NURSA and a Fury
Really hyped for the cargo changes.
Trucking missions alone will be a huge impact because you don't need to be a millionaire to utilize bigger ships.

Lots of great things coming this year. I'm looking forward to personal hangers and server meshing.
I'm not hearing anything about passenger gameplay anymore. I really hope they didn't abandon this concept...
I wouldn’t worry too much. There are thousands of us that want passenger transportation gameplay.
What happened to persistent hangers?
Passenger transport will be introduced when NPCs are able to transit to not create missions dependable on players availability. That would make those impossible to complete sometimes.
really hope that they focus on stabilizing the current gameplay and bring in base building for the next patch

Drake's in lore reason for defensecon is hilarious. That said let's go Anvil day!
Regarding the unidentified ship @7:20 - It’s clearly the RSI Zeus… you can see easily identifiable lines on the body towards the wing tips etc… plus look at the angles…. Definitely an RSI design.
It's not the Zeus since you can see the Zeus silhouette right after this one in the CitCon video. But RSI could be the manufacturer, indeed.
Yeah its 100% clearly not the zues this has a side ramp all the zues ships have back ramps
Either way I guess we’ll see 😃
Maybe the Perseus? I hope so
My experience in 3.23 has been great so far. Only some servers I have come across have been laggy. Looking forward to 4.0!
Land claims!! And 4.0 by the end of the year let's go! 😅
I think I'm cautiously optimistic about star citizen in 2024. I'm hoping it really pulls itself together and pushes through well
With pyro and engineering coming we need afleet support vehicle. Whether a carrier equiped to supply smaller ships for firefighting and medical or repair. Or just a big ship that does that itself

Probably the Kraken will be the main fleet support ship for the outlaw systems the same way the ships of the Invictus Fleet are for the lawful UEE.
I'm excited for the zeus release. Have my upgrade ready to go . Waiting to see if the retaliator increases in price
Dying to hear more about base building. Of all the features coming, I think that's the one I will enjoy the most. Thanks for the update, Bored!
The drake ship will be a massive cargo ship as something to bridge the gap between the cat and the keacken
This year is shaping up to be exciting! im still guessing that the Drake Concept is either going to be the long rumored "Fatterpillar", or the "Corvette class" that was mentioned at the bar citizen a few months ago
I'm probably in a minority of one who doesn't care about the Polaris. Just another ship I'm never going to buy
Looking forward to 4.0. My husband and I love to chill out in it, it's a good feeling to have a game we both love playing together :^)
I hope the New Drake ship is a heavy fighter, it seems to be the only class of ship missing from it's lineup.
That Beam Eye Tracking thing is a great alternative.
I'm still impatient for the persistent hangers! Huge game changer! Excited for 4.0 release also!
Thanks again for the recap!I hope they add the pickup Drone for the Apollo soon. With the med changes it would be nice to fly it in the verse.
The apollo and the galaxy are the two ships I am most excited to see added into the game atm, hopefully they get added sooner rather than later.
I hope they have a Star Citizen Live about base building and related things sometime this year.
Prolly make up that 20% at IAE once pyro is out and new ships might/will be wanted.
I think once Pyro is out and stabilized we will see other solar system being put in at a quick pace.
Drake are by far my favourite manufacturer, cannot wait to see what the ship is - i don't know if I'll ever financially recover though
Keen to try out the Firebird, I know missiles leave a lot to be desired, but here is to hoping that it gets fixed soon enough
I missed the updates on the Zeus MK2s delays until now, the ES is the only variant I haven't bought, although I might upgrade one of my Cutlass Black's to one, having two exploration/touring ships might be a smart move
I REALLY hope we get TITAN suits soon, maybe a dropship? that drake concept is gonna be exiting to learn about >_>
Getting a polaris crew together with a legionarre in its hanger for some sweet dropship and boarding gameplay will be my dream
You know what, I might be interested if you'll need folks.
I'm really curious to see what cgi has planned for beyond 4.0 it's gonna be really exiting to see what's gonna be possible once server meshing is in
Maybe it’s a medium ship that hides the signature of ships around it? But feel like if that were a thing it wouldn’t be a Drake
We have come so far from the early days of not even being able to fly our ships. So exciting
Eye tracking looks like it would greatly improve immersion and ability to look around in combat, just haven't been able to try it for the price of the Tobii. Going to give Beam a try for sure.
Looking forward to an update on persistence hangars and freight elevators.
Excited to see what the new Drake ship could be and I wonder if any new Alien ships could happen.
Galaxy with Medical Pisces in hangar with cargo or refinery will be the best of both worlds. Medical plus modular.
Im loving the fps in 3.23 and the general stability of the severs. Really excited about 4.0 coming later this year!
I reckon the Drake ship will be some form of support ship personally, but we'll find out on Thursday haha - keep up the amazing work :)
Hoping for that new Miri heavy next month. I'm very excited to see what it can do!
I am really looking forward to 4.0. Loved the Pyro Test, and can't wait to get my hands on my Zeus ES.

That mystery ship you couldn't ID looked kinda like the mine layer, nautilus I think it is.
Hoping to see the Clipper Zeus this year!
My true love is the freelancer MAX, but without a gold pass it's just not as functional as the Zeus, so I'm likely going to go for that for the time being.
I am so happy with all the 3.23 improvements. Still some stability and bugs but hopefully that will get better.

I hope they will add the retribution sometime
Polaris and fat fury seems fun. maybe a new medium sized ship, like the constellation but from another brand.
New Firebird is awesome!!! Good looking ship!
im expecting the new drake ship to be the equivalent to the galaxy. they need a large/sub capital to fit in between the kraken and caterpillar. knowing drake specializes in utility and offensive option, it make sense
A end of year big bug fix patch would be a nice way to cap off the year. Plenty of annoying little bugs in 3.23 and wager more in 4.0
to be fair we are in a stupidly expensive time to just live for most and tittering on a recession. so less sale is to be expected sadly. also that blurred ship is the RSI Zeus
Beam eye tracking is the best tracker I have used besides a tobii. Beam with an old iPhone works great
Hopefully Cargo-missions etc. will be soon in evocati. Maybe after FW?
I will probably be skipping the new Sabre, but the Retaliator refresh and gold pass is really exciting.
Cant wait to try out the Zues.Hope it will be good to do merc quests and bounties and maybe other non combat quests
I actually have an MSR and a pirate paint job for it (It's not very piraty, just burnished steel) but it still looks good. I'm pretty happy with that, at least so far.
The ship that I expect the most is the Zeus MkII ES.
