Hi it's Danduw3D again! So watching this back, I'm laughing at how close I have the mic to my face, I look like I'm eating it. Please laugh at me for that, in the future I'll stop sniffing it and have it further away from my gob.
thank you for this video !!! i am currently in my second year of uni studying to be a character artist and i am exactly in the position that you were talking about being in all those years ago. it was really nice to hear your experiences and advice!♥
Great advice, Dan! I've always heard the vague platitude of making "targeted portfolios," but you put it in a way that actually made sense to me - just make shit related to the company you want to work for. I know the industry is in a bit of a shit state right now but I'm excited to try and break in soon.
As a +5 years aspiring character artist I have to say that this vid helps a lot. Thank you for sharing your progress and thoughts about this topic. Rn I'm looking for a remote job due to my personal situation and I felt the need to open my characters style range to have more opportunities and as you said do what the companies are looking for.
Hey sirr, thank you so much for this video, it really bright things up by a lot. If I may ever suggest a video, what about a clothing tutorial? I really like doing clothes as well but at the same time I have so much trouble going from MD to Zbrush and then how to retopo and UV everything, like which parts are going to be floating, or should all the cloth be one piece only? Anyway, if you ever consider doing it, it'd be very helpful. Keep up the hard work, you're awesome.
