Bravo !!
132 if not mistaken. Fiat loaded with luxury for time.5 speed gear box's.side windows driver and passenger sides a vizier screen that pulled out and down from roof.loads power but hard on petrol. They rust like no tomorrow but man they were stylish.
Fiat 140 hp 1550 kg 3 speed auto; Peugeot 71hp, 1060 kg 4 speed manual. So the Fiat has twice the maximum power but 50% more weight to lug around and extra transmission slippage. With the twisty mountain road further constraining speed I suspect the Peugeot could plausibly keep up with the Fiat.
The Alfa Romeo 2600 Berlina was even scarcer than the convertible, let alone the coupe. Hopefully because of that that's why it was spared. The Giulia was a common-sight on Italian roads, even still in production, so could easily be sacrificed. Also used exclusively by the Italian police, probably because Alfa Romeo was state owned at that time. Alfas were much more individualistic when owned by the Italian state. The Fiat 130 looked liked an early ex-publicity car. If so got dirt cheap which is why that got destroyed. Looked well equipped too, including a heated rear-window, something relatively new back then & reserved for upmarket cars. The Peugeot 404 & the two Ford Taunus 12M P4s were already wrecks when filming started in Italy, with inevitable results.
The 130 was meant to compete with Rover in the UK, but was rare even when new as large imported cars didn't sell much over here in the early seventies and there were tariffs on cars from the EEC. Once we joined the EEC, bigger imported cars became more common( also the quality of Rover went down the drain in the mid seventies) as the tariffs ended and the later Fiat 132 developed a following for its long equipment list, lowish prices and good performance.
The 130 was a really expensive car, in the same class as big BMWs, Jaguars or Mercedes. Here is the 130 A series with a 2.8 V6, in 1971 came a 3.2 V6 165 hp DIN and also a wonderful 130 Coupe (Pininfarina).
Nice to see a movie era where cars getting pushed off a cliff didn't automatically explode.
nice car the Fiat 130.

No, that's 130 the bigger luxury car with V6 engine.
Not that the 130 was super fast. But the 404 was super slow. Hard to not leave that old Peg behind.

The 130 ran out of fuel...
@@dlevi67 It looks like a stretched Lada.
@@Glenn1967ful It looks like a stretched 124, which is what a Lada is.
But it is much bigger than Lada or 124. Here is a 2.8 V6, but 1971 came with a 3.2 V6. With that engine, 130 sedan weighed 1600 kg. @@Glenn1967ful
Thats an early 2.8 130 gutless later 3.2 versions if they are running right with proper timing are still a good going motor
Italian cars American Driver !!! Dynamite choice!!!

does anybody noticed 2nd car used was an Alfa 2600 ??
Yes of course . Rare Berlina
When the Giulia is pushed over the clip you do not see an explosion but how a car is disolving while rolling down.
At least the wheels were still attached when it finally came to rest. Meaning no fear of them parting company when driving along in one.
What is this movie please?
The Mechanic
That'll buff out...
Italians - "Fin! Il film è finito!"
c'est une giulia mais a un moment on voit une alfa 2006 ,au départ c'est une Fiat 130 contre une Peugeot 404

Zonde van de giulia. Minder degelijk dan ik dacht. De eerste auto met kreukelzones.... die Peugeot 404 en ford cortina ach..
Mi spiace per la distruzione delle macchine
Very nice cars wasted for very, VERY bad car 'chase'.
yes but back in those times. those cars were not exactly "rare". lol
Bad chase? No way, it's awesome.
Boomers when the most boring car in existence gets destroyed in a movie:
POVERA130 E POVERA GIULIA....
E meno male che non hanno sacrificato anche l’alfa 2600… 😂😂
waste of a 130, it could have easily ran away from those other cars.
Ils tirent n'importe comment !
Fiat 130 the best
