Most people ‘find god’ when they are experiencing trauma or have experienced trauma. It’s just a coping mechanism in desperate times. Religion always gets to vulnerable people as a last resort, or some sort of salvation.
If these inmates "find God" in their closing hours, then why should anyone else care if they do? Once the condemned leave this Earth, they will spend eternity in either Heaven of Hell. If (and I DO mean IF) they are allowed to enter Heaven, then that's between them and God! And no amount of griping on OUR part will change Gods' mind! HOWEVER; if the condemned is cast into Hell, then there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING we can do to them that could EVEN BEGIN to compare to the suffering they are about to endure!!
Please explain to me Mrs/Ms Henry. Your client, I believe Donnie Johnson, I am sure took the time to make certain his wife was comfortable, without any fear and could not feel any pain when he brutally murdered her. During his deed did he pinch her trapezeus, call out her name or brush her eyebrows or did he brutally murdered his wife? No. So please explain to me why this animal deserved anything less than to suffer as she did. I believe in being humane but only when that is earned which he did not. Drug him to death. No. A bag shove down his throat and him beaten as his wife was. Yes!
Leon White. Where do you get your information? First, why is it so convenient for people like you to find your place of mental perfection to be able to attack something you probably have no clue about, christianity!? And to state 'forgiveness'? What a powerful example of a hypocrite! You say this as for me to forgive him. What about you to me? And finally, you are pretty brave to call me a 'christian', if that is what your inferring. How do you think you know that? Wow! Ok then, you say that and I say, "Look at all of the boneheaded jerks whining about showing mercy to a cold blooded killer! And by the way, there are some things not even God can forgive!
Elwood, it is tough to understand Ms Henry's position on all this. If I believe that her core disagreement is not that her client should be allowed to live, but that the government should not have a monopoly on state-sanctioned killing, it starts to become somewhat comprehensible - but just a little. To whine on and on about how his cuffs were too tight, they used so many tight restraints, and on and on and on and... starts to really anger people. It's that bleeding heart mentality they just can't let go of.
If you’re gonna kill somebody then The state could execute.you I’m sure Mr. Johnson knew that. it’s not that he didn’t know any better. He made a choice. he is not to be felt sorry for.
What I personally find abhorrent about this is the amount of time wasted on the "welfare" of this self confessed murderer. How much pain relief did the victim get? He should feel every moment.
No we are not. We try to be object representing our clients, but that can be difficult. There is no requirement to be objective once your part in the case ends.
@@brontewcat Being objective is an acquired habit of thinking. A surgeon for just one example needs to distance himself from what is taking place on an operating table to heal a patient.

I for one do not why it is so hard to euthanize a human when licensed veterinarians do it painlessly all the time to K 9s, horses, Zoo animals, etc. Does someone out there know the difference? Please educate me on this
Poor America, you want to the greatest country, but you are so far behind. Has death penalty ever prevented any murder or killing? Stop this inhumane punishment!!!!
I don't agree with the death penalty. I completely understand some people's reasons for the opposite opinion. I however do not think a death sentence should be in the hands of an unjust system. Innocent people have been and will be executed. Anybody could find themselves in this position who is innocent but we also know certain people are more likely to therefore it should stop because of this. Until the system is just, without prejudice, politics or personal agendas & the responsibility should not be in the hands of irresponsible people and put in part on the shoulders of a jury handed a role in deciding to kill. I question if this is even possible.
I wonder how many of you in here that drop nasty comments that also abuse your wives. It is your exact mindset that creates people like him and victims like his wife.
Save your tears sister for his victim! Why do killers only find God when their own lives are about to be forfeit? 🙏for the victims and their families and loved ones.
Wow this world is so MESSED up wat kinda justice do a person get to agree wth the DEATH PENALTY if it was one of there love ones I guess it would be a different story RIGHT
No - not right. In counties that don’t have the death penalty justice tends to swifter. There is the trial, there maybe the appeal. If the evidence is pretty clear the person is guilty beyond reasonable doubt they generally don’t appeal the verdict, but may appeal the sentence. Then they are shut away. The whole process may take a few years, but not decades. This allows the victims family closure far more quickly. This took 35 years, and each step of appeal and attempts to save would have caused pain to the victim’s family.
How many tears have you shed for his victim??????
How come they all find God after the crime but not before, I can’t have sympathy for him

ALWAYS.
Because by taking his life the perpetrator becomes the victim.
when we took his life, donnie became a victim! it is a fact !

Alot of procedures to kill a person. It's sad all around that things like this happen.
