She tried to mislead at the end by saying she had no reason to want her dead. This was after she already admitted to her friend that she TRIED to kill her. LOL
I watch a lot of documentaries, and this is one of the best I've seen. So well put together. Its astounding the lengths she goes trying to manipulate and loophole her way out admitting her involvement.
Emilia's lawyer failed to mention that the most damning confession was to Josh's sister, NOT coerced, or gotten through trickery. Evil little troll envied the prettier Heather.
Someone here said they thought she was a sociopath. I think she's a psychopath. And I get a distinct feeling this wasn't her first "rodeo" with regard to killing people.
Sad all the way around most of all the kids. Thank god they will not have to grow up in her care and maybe she will cry on That special day when she will meet the one and only judge and we all know who that is JC.
samiesmile , that's exactly what I was thinking as well! As if she was saying, "She tried so hard" in regard to the struggle with her kids. However, it's seems as though she is looking back at the killing in her mind and actually thinking, " She tried so hard to live, but we killed her!" She is a sociopath.
The way those lies just slide out of her mouth, no hesitation. She's very cold and callous. I'm so glad they managed to get that confession out of her without granting her immunity . On a side note the BBC need to make more of these types of documentaries, loved it!
She has an answer for EVERYTHING! In her mind, she is never the 'bad guy' She had the audacity to say Heather was her friend and she misses her! SOME nerve 🤨
Most people don't think of themselves as the bad guy, otherwise they'd adjust their behavior. In hindsight, sure, people can see that their actions were shitty but usually they'll have reasons for doing everything they do.
She's pregnant and she's no problem killing a human being, a mother. I hope that baby inside her would grow up with a heart nothing like her parents. 🙏🙏
i love how she laughed when she was asked if she killed Heather... that smile/laugh was the only real true and genuine display of emotion this whole.. interview, or whatever..... and then to say "i miss her, wish she was here" and say she knew her struggle..... pure evil.... unbelievable... just. ..... wow
Given that Jodi Arias got life without parole it sounds about right, though. Wouldn't take issue with both of them getting the death penalty, because they are both sociopathic monsters, but if I compare both cases, I would say Arias is still a hundred times worse than Carr. Both still deny their guilt, but at least Carr did not slander the victim in court, while Jodi Arias claimed Travis Alexander was a pedophile in front of his grieving family. Also Arias murdered simply out of jealousy, Carr at least had her pregnancy as a somewhat mitigating factor.
This documentary was fantastic I don’t know how else to say it, an yes I do believe detectives an courts try to manipulate ppl into false confessions but this isn’t one of them, I lost track in how many times she changed her story and when josh confessed you can tell that was raw and genuine emotion. She was just a liar from the beginning “oh if you need me to testify I will” like c’mon now.
On Dec. 10, the Ocala Police Department received a 911 call from a woman who said Buie might have left pictures on her doorstep and on a wreath on her front door. She told law enforcement officials that Buie had been violent with her on numerous occasions and she believed he was stalking or trying to intimidate her, according to an internal affairs investigation conducted by Sgt. Ben Adams. The woman told authorities about alleged abuse in March 2018 and said Buie had been abusive in earlier years. Adams noted in his report that he viewed two in-home security videos that supported the allegations. He concluded that the complaints against Buie were substantiated. A warrant was issued for Buie’s arrest on Dec. 13 on charges of false imprisonment, two counts of domestic battery by strangulation and one count each of domestic battery and domestic assault. He was arrested the next day. The false imprisonment charge and one of the domestic violence by strangulation charges were eventually dropped by prosecutors.
Such a sad story, but also so fascinating to see a real psychopath. The flow, how she makes up the lies as she talks, the way she manipulates is both scary and fascinating at the same time... Great documentary, BBC III. RIP Heather.
Masterly done BBC Three! \o/ The best documentary about this case i've ever seen! The interviews in the interrogation rooms are very powerful. Please, we want some more!
A perfect marriage of great police work and a great documentary. BBC did a great job with this, so much so I'd rather see their version than those done in the states. The details covered, from interrogations to uncovering the corpse.
There are a lot of impressive moments from this detective, but to me the most impressive is at 6:51. Amelia actually just nodded her head that she'd been involved, & the white detective plows ahead with his line of questioning, but the Black detective is so keyed into Amelia, the interrogation, & his goal of getting a confession, that he realizes she's just silently confessed. He actually interrupts his partner & brings Amelia right back to what she's just confessed to, pressuring her to say it out loud so that it's unequivocally on the record & she will have taken a step past the point of no return. And it works. She confesses. In a few short moments she's demonstrating how they killed Heather. It's probably not fair to say this detective singlehandedly broke this case--but he singlehandedly broke this case. He really used the interrogation process effectively. So word to the wise: do not imagine you can go head to head with most detectives. They're trained to get information out of you. LAWYER UP, whether you're innocent or guilty. A cop's job, unfortunately, is to build a case that can be prosecuted. That's not the same as catching the person who committed the crime.
The detective has me stuck. He is such a good listener, intuitive and sooooo gorgeous. These are my confessions (in my usher voice). I’ve watched this series about 3xs being thirsty. Lawd help me. Lolz
Omg she shifts ever so slightly when they say the conversation was recorded and she's stone still after like she's using every fiber of her being to stay straight. Her body language is crazy, she's literally trying so hard.
Do you think so? I thought she was a terrible actress. Pretty obvious she was lying from the beginning. Body language and eye movements told the tale early on.
The way she talks about heather like she’s talking as a friend at her funeral is really creepy. She so obviously guilty, her eyes hold most of the guilt.
i think sometimes prison isn’t that bad, not as bad as death, people often make friends and discover religion or literature and it’s like a fucked up boarding school. but then again i’ve never been so i don’t know
Once I heard the recorded confession played I was that’s it -:HERE IS THE KILLER !! Lord have Mercy upon this young lady’ s soul . Lust deceived her . Big up to the Detectives . Justice served for Heather’ s children
It's confusing to me how come she keeps saying Heather was her best friend etc etc...but she was also sleeping with Heathers husband when ever Heather and him got in a fight....I wish in the interview they would of asked her to explain her reasoning there. Also why did she not get a paternity test.....the children that suffered in the end.
I like how at first, the documentary almost depicts Emilia and her lawyer as these crusaders against a male dominated society and how it is so horrible to be a wrongly accused single mother. Then, as the documentary progresses, they show similar footage of Emilia and her lawyer and you begin to feel sick to your stomach realizing the high level of manipulation, deceit and cunning that Emilia has employed. That feeling that you could have been tricked by her, just how she was able to trick her dim witted lawyer. That there are real single mothers out there that don't complain or worry like Emilia was playing up. If it weren't for Josh's sister, she might have gotten away with it. Emilia is a master sociopath and possibly psychopath. But above that, excellent job editing and directing to reveal Emilia as the monster she so desparately attempts to hide.
Her urge to get it off her chest caught her up. How she gonna tell Josh's sister to tell Josh to ''STOP TALKING TO THEM'' then Emlia herself tells Josh's sister EVERYTHING. She's definitely a nut case. She wasn't scared ! Wow
Thats how the documentary should have ended, with the interviewer telling her that and then watching her psychopathic reaction or look in her eyes, then the screen turn black.
What I learned . I can say anything to a cop as long as I say " hypothetically" and it only counts when I say " on the record" now I know. And knowing is half the battle.

Josh finally confessing was "Brilliant" on the Detective's part. He is definitely the Detective, you want on your side in a criminal investigation. Damn good job.
11:10 You said girl, you said you tried to snap her neck and none else was there to make you say that, and also if you felt threatened that conversation with Josh sister would’ve been perfect to let know if the police was pressuring you… it is sad and disgraceful that up until this point you deny your involvement, I don’t know how you can sleep every night knowing that you are holding a facade; I’ll tell you how, you live by feeding your sick mind with your own lies… But you killed her.. You killed her…
Marc Ba ... Yahaaa. EMILIA S BIG BIGGER BIGGEST LIER. SHE S ALMOST IN A VIDEO RECORDING THAT SHE WAS INVOLVED AND SHES THE ONE WHO DID THAT TO HEATHER . BUT UNTIL SHE S IN THE PRISON SHES STILL DENYING IT ALL. OHHHH WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU EMILIA
Sunbeam ..hi .. They intended to interrupted the conversation bcoz they heard almost that Emilia admitted already she was the one who did the it all thats why the cops interrupted at once so that they can Catch Emilia bcoz she might escaped at once . Thanks
Wow she had fooled, I watched something recent on her. Then I checked this out and watched from start to finish. She had me convinced with the lies, I really thought she was just dumb and complicit, But in actual fact she was involved and not a dumb complicit lover who was in way over head. she's horrible evil with no emotion, no tears nothing. and she still needs to brush them teeth
Amazing detective work!!! I wish they were in my city, the psychopaths and criminals would think twice knowing that get caught and I’d feel a whole lot safer.
I grew up in Marion county and i was best friends with heathers boyfriends daughter and knew her kids as well. she was so sweet to all of us kids. this rocked our small town. she didn’t deserve what happened to her. Rest in the sweetest peace, Heather❤
Every time she lies she blinks very slowly almost as if shes rolling them. You can see her do it several times in the last question she is asked. She did it when she said, "I *didn't* kill her" & "she was my *friend*"
I laughed my ass off when he asked her if that chair was comfortable she said yes then he said which one was more comfortable she said this one I guess than he pointed at the uncomfortable chair and said why don't you come in sit in this one lol😆😜😂
She put herself on death row. She kept talking to the police WITHOUT a lawyer!!! Even after she was caught lying a million times she STILL kept taking! I'm glad I watched this because the interviews with her make it seem like the police were out to get her and she falsely confessed under pressure. NO MA'AM!
I absolutely believe there are occasions when police have coerced a false confession out of an innocent person. But this is not one of them.
Right, cuz she clearly had a conversation with someone literally exposing herself *without* police influence.
absolutely agreed!

Emilia not sure psychopath
She's a Sociopath
Some aspects of her life resemble sociopathic patients, but I think this is a one-off incident. Must understand her and approach her with love and care.
attilafry Why? She didn't approach Heather with love and care...why should she be given those things when she didn't show Heather those things?
dianxxi that is true but I will still ask for a lawyer.
“Did you kill Heather?”
“Ugh everybody asks me that!”
Well yeah you are on death row for her murder? I think people are gonna ask if you did it
she claims she didnt kill Heather yet she was there with the plastic bag & tape & tried to break heathers neck, Well i think she is once again lying.
She tried to mislead at the end by saying she had no reason to want her dead. This was after she already admitted to her friend that she TRIED to kill her. LOL

yet she has such a beautiful smile that could melt a thousand hearts....what a shame what a waste!!
"She fought a lot" was about Heather struggling to die, not anything else
Anita Schopfer Very perceptive
Emilia didn't want her to suffer, wow what a great person she is
Ya, how compassionate of her to snap her friend's neck so that she would not suffer.
She just never stops the blame game. She takes no responsibility for her part in the murder.

natasha87ful she is unbelievable
Yup I can't believe either, I get so emotional now that I'm pregnant! I couldn't kill a fly let alone a woman!

By far the best crime doc I've seen in a long time!😄 Thanx!
Great police work, great documentary, well done!
The way she blankly says “she was my friend...” is so scary.
You definitely can't be friends with someone who's man you are sleeping with..

I don't know why they interrupted the conversation with Josh's sister in the car. They might have heard enough but I had not.
Sunbeam ..hi .. They intended to interrupted the conversation bcoz they heard almost that Emilia admitted already she was the one who did the it all thats why the cops interrupted at once so that they can Catch Emilia bcoz she might escaped at once .
Thanks
She definitely did it... Idc what her lawyer says, she told on her herself dummy!! She just need to repent and take the needle #JusSayin
Them teeth girl
Guilty as charged
I am against the death penalty, do not have to kill this girls.
attilafry Opinionated, kill get killed makes sense
Have a worse human as Emilia. She does not deserve death and does not deserve life in jail
Lol i would be like “ill tell you everything you need to know detective.... as long as i can sit on yo lap” 😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg she defiantly deserves everything she got dealt..She's
straight evil and all her narcissistic ways!!
I am disappointed that Emilia is a mother, who wants a mother like her?
I'd like to listen to the entire tape of the convo between Michelle and Emilia
Amazing detective work!!! I wish they were in my city, the psychopaths and criminals would think twice knowing that get caught and I’d feel a whole lot safer.
She took someone's life being 8 months pregnant and then she gave life. Brutal and tragic!!
I grew up in Marion county and i was best friends with heathers boyfriends daughter and knew her kids as well. she was so sweet to all of us kids. this rocked our small town. she didn’t deserve what happened to her. Rest in the sweetest peace, Heather❤
Those teeth...
Teefeses!!! Don't they have dental care in prison, even on death row?
Love theses detective man! They'll never give up until they'll finally get the truth👏👏👏 respect dat, they caught her lying ass😂😂👍
I started this series thinking Amelia was set up and disliking that detective but wow did the tables turn 😢
Every time she lies she blinks very slowly almost as if shes rolling them. You can see her do it several times in the last question she is asked.
She did it when she said,
"I *didn't* kill her" & "she was my *friend*"
Oh what a tangled web we.
" Weave "
When first we practice to
" Deceive "
I laughed my ass off when he asked her if that chair was comfortable she said yes then he said which one was more comfortable she said this one I guess than he pointed at the uncomfortable chair and said why don't you come in sit in this one lol😆😜😂
Well, she fooled me in parts 1 and 2. It’s not the first time a sociopath fooled me 🤷🏻♀️🤣
She put herself on death row. She kept talking to the police WITHOUT a lawyer!!! Even after she was caught lying a million times she STILL kept taking! I'm glad I watched this because the interviews with her make it seem like the police were out to get her and she falsely confessed under pressure. NO MA'AM!
Emilia: I wish she were here, she's the only one who understands what its like tryin to stay alive. Yeah, she tried to stay alive, you took that.
She lied until the end. I miss her, I wish she was here"!!! Cold as an iceberg!! Detectives were amazing 👍
