Should be now....if you take the time to read dylans lyrics its easy to see his songs/stories rival Shakespeare....plus he sang and performed his poetry. Go read the lyrics of dylan " ALRIGHT MA" without misic or singing...just reading the words .....show me a poet that could write that. From going electric..to gospel bob did what he wanted...not giving a shit what some magizine writer thougt or some critique thinks....i doubt he cared much how his fans recieved...they all talk aboutbwell he lives itband one of the coolest things about dylan is he didnt dance to anyones tune but his own.if u like it great...if youndont ....your loss.
I’m just saying good brother probably good not to speculate on internet your views will stay. I don’t know but he might see and not agree, actually he might not even agree with me. Ok
They say he was awkward with interviews but he deserves a medal for putting up with them most of the time. This interviewers lack of interest ‘sure’ ‘yeah’ after Dylan has finished saying what he is saying would seriously piss me off and I would of had to have left. The fact they still ask Dylan the same questions must be some inside joke between them all.
Always curious: why "thumbs down" to this? I mean, I'm not offended or anything. I just think it's funny that someone (who MUST have an interest in Dylan-otherwise why would you check this out) just wasn't happy with this haha. "Oh, gee, it's that Dylan Playboy interview...must give that a listen...hum...this is not what I expected...I am very disappointed...I need to let everyone know that I give this THUMBS DOWN!!!" Strange. Anyway, totally fascinating, as always.
The only insight one gets from 99 per cent of Dylan interviews is that he's honest about how much he doesn't know, and that he's not all that interested in current "trends". That's the only "wisdom" they impart.
+thesongtowoody thesong, Bob's an adult and can use any word he want's to as far as I'm concerned. It's not going to alter my opinion of the guy. He's a nice guy who (on occasion) writes wonderful songs. Don't be so hard on the guy. Nobodies perfect thesong.
Dylan's answer at 9:37 is kind of funny considering the headlines from his latest interview read, 'If I had to do it all over again, I'd be a schoolteacher'.
He wouldn’t last one day being a school teacher 😂 My dad is a Vietnam vet, a marine and he left Elementary school in an ambulance. He had survived the rice paddies of Nam but those 4th graders were too much. He retired and is fine 😂
In those days pop stars were expected to have all the answers. Dylan pissed off interviews by admitting, "I don't know," or otherwise explaining that he didn't have the answers either. Dylan sometimes, and "The Beatles" typically, dealt with that boredom by goofing. See Dylan's 1965 San Francisco press conference during which he pull's the interviewer's leg clean off, and the interviewer doesn't know it; when asked if he's "thinks of himself" as a rock singer or a folk sing, he responded, "I kinda think of myself a being a song and dance man". The question was stupid.
yeah, what is that???? The whole photo is interesting, with the dog in the car and whatever Dylan is doing with his hands, he strikes a powerful profile. The photo is full of information, and really great.
I feel like Bob’s lack of an answer for what would he do as president, or what to do on foreign policy shows why it best that left the folk movement. He really is out there just doing his thing, whether or not he believes in any of it, I don’t think anyone knows, even Dylan himself. It’s quite possible he fooled a lot of people, which is why he kept saying he didn’t want to be a leader of any sort.
He's answering a bunch of pointlessly and supposedly "deep" leading questions just plainly and honestly. That's highly unusual in interviews. Usually people being interviewed take the bait and try to give the interviewer exactly what the interviewer is prompting them to give. They pontificate. They pose in the way they think they're "supposed to" to get approval or to impress others or, alternately, to confront others. Whatever gets them the most attention. Dylan doesn't. He just tells them the simple truth....which could just be that he doesn't know (!!!) or isn't particularly interested in that...or hasn't given it much actual thought, actually. It's amusing. It's not what the newsman is expecting, in most cases. He's expecting something more dramatic and portentous. Some of them get annoyed by it. Others just go with it. Dylan seems to have been pretty relaxed on this day, and in a friendly mood.
Have never read this interview & don't have time now. But I'm wondering, does he talk about his then-wife Sara? She'd been a playboy bunny. In the club, not the magazine. Probably a forbidden topic.
Don’t think twice about this interview. Just always keep a clear head and carry a light bulb. It’s all right ma, the answers are swirling in an idiot wind. Just what side are you on? Are there really only two sides? You know the kind of people that subscribe to playboy magazine? It’s written for a certain class of people. Ahh fuck it. I think I’ll just open up a bubble gum factory in Mexico. That’s it. I’ll move to Mexico and hang out with Hollis brown and John Wesley hardin
In the beginning the journalist has no clue what Dylan is talking about. The idiot continues to talk about categories that he would like to put Dylan in whereas Dylan talks about 'sound' and 'chords' that have changed and become more contrived. If you begin like that, i.e. pushing your own misunderstandings and limited conceptions onto the greatest popgenius ever (Dunning Kruger Effect syndrome), it discourages one to listen any further.
Dylan IS a very Audacious man, fearless and bold in his songwriting and I love that about him. Never stop my friend, keep rocking your songs!!
i have never heard him this comfortable and talking so openly.
good interview.
YES! Been looking for this beauty for what feels like a lifetime.. Thank you!
If we as humans last long enough on this planet, he will be a poet that is taught in school.

There are college courses based on his writing -- and have been for decades.
beyond comprehension at the time. It's morphic ressonance
We were taught him in school 25 years ago. Come to Scotland, it's great!!!
He's already been taught for some years in colleges.
No. Fucking. Way.
No Problem
NO F-ing kidding! WOW
It's cool to hear such an open, friendly Dylan answering questions for someone. Must have been having a particularly good day.
+Ryan Abram My thoughts exactly!
Must have gotten a good nights sleep plus the pills were kicking in.
Nat Hentoff was a respected music critic -- and civil rights advocate. He knew his stuff.
Nat Hentoff was the guy who did the liner for the Freewheelin Album
Again just glad to be alive at same time to enjoy him live and in real time. Master!
He knew he was changing the future of rock and roll. That's amazing 44:30
How do you know that, did you ask him or know him.? I didn’t
I’m just saying good brother probably good not to speculate on internet your views will stay. I don’t know but he might see and not agree, actually he might not even agree with me. Ok
👍🍀
@@danocablethe fuck you on about chachi? LOL
@@danocableThe OP said he knew he was changing the future of music and left a time stamp for reference.
So what in Gods name are you on about LOL
anybody else notice the UFO floating above Bob's head?
Yes. It's called a traffic light.
Magic swirling ship
Its actually a ghost pirate ship. I'm guessing 1700's
I was aboard that craft. That happened to be the day I was abducted by space aliens. What a coincidence.
it's a light bulb. "keep a good head and always carry a lightbulb." -Bob Dylan :]
dog in car sees dylan smoke his invisible cigar
Geoff Burton Man in the window of the house by Dylan's head has his imaginary Cock in Dylan's imaginary ear
🤣
What about the ufo
On street number one
Is he smoking a roach?

You obviously know nothing about Nat Hentoff. Dylan probably only agreed to the interview if it were with such as Nat Hentoff.
A very curious and great photo

Some people are cross eyed
We hv to learn his poems here in India schools in ICSE board .
Can't be half-bad when he says he listens to Buck Owens.
He's being polite.
Back when, Rhythm and Blues, Folk, Rock N Roll. Etc . It was all just 🎵 🎶.
RIP Nat Hentoff
66, before the motorcycle crash, was the high point of Dylan’s genius

does bob dylan say "fuck around" at 12:29 ? if so, i cant remember ever hearing bob say it before anywhere????
+thesongtowoody ya, I think it's part of the english language, actually
+thesongtowoody heck he even used the word 'bullshit'

I don't think that is what he said, he said I am not going out to be a school teacher or something, teaching English in Vermont.

Playboy. We 'll repeat everything for you
did bob say of chuck berry, "he's okay." ?
He's downplaying a major influence as a songwriter.

Dose any of us know why the thing that happen to us happen, so why should Bob?
He said the same thing about school that I did HAHA! SO COOL.

I’ve always admired him for that, he could have ate the attention up. He could have fed into it and listened to the sycophants who worship rock stars.
ya knoww?

What year was this interview supposedly took place, anyone knows
Dylan says he was 24 in the earlier part then said almost 30 so….somewhere about there
