    I glad to see the M9 cut barbed wire. I tested my Ontario M9 on some small nails and it cut them easily, but when I had to cut a piece of hardened spring steel the same diameter as a nail it took tremendous force. I bought a large pair of Kobalt lineman’s pliers advertised as having hardened cutting edges and it easily cut the spring steel even though the pliers were smaller and had a lot less leverage than the bayonet. The difference was hardness of the cutting edges, and the fact that the AK couldn’t cut the barbed wire means it is not as hard as the M9.

      Dog smarter than the tester. He says. Lol, do some realistic tests, like pealing bark, cutting meat, vegetables. Not CDs!

    What you have there is not a AK 47 bayonet but a AKM 6X4.
    The polish ones are easy to regonize because they dont have the sawback.
    The AK47 bayonet is a other model.
    I wish i had a M9 bayonet but here they are extreem expensieve..
    Some makes..300 to 700 euro.
    So for now i have a replicated M9 in my Collection..
    I cant believe you payd 20 dollar for the AKM.
    Here they are 60..75 euro.
    Have a good Day.
    Nice video.

      The Buck/Phrobis Gen-1 M9 bayonets and the Lancay Gen-2 and Gen-3 M9 bayonets with fullered blades are expensive because they are no more in production.
      The 4th gen M9 bayonets with non-fullered blades made by Ontario Knife Company since 1994 are quite affordably priced.

    that smaller leather part goes through a hole in the grip and the metal part will be hooked onto the little hook on the other end of the grip. it is adjustable to your hand size and needs. it is meant as a security measure to prevent it from falling out of your hand during h2h combat or working with it. if necessary i can upload a video for you guys to show. i have an east german army version with canvas instead of leather.

    As a survival knife the M9 bayonet is indeed better than the AK bayonets. I own a new production Arsenal AK-127B bayonet and even that ain't a match for the M9. However, due to their smaller size the AK bayonets do feel easier to carry around.
    On a different note, try the Fulcrum Ranger bayonet from Extrema Ratio. They are the official bayonets issued to the Italian Alpine paratroopers. They are made of N690 steel and have a Tanto like point that's optimised to shear through the target's flesh with utmost ease.

      FKMD has a series of bayonets. Eickhorn Solingen has the KCB77, SG2000 and B2005 series.

    • @TheNocturnalEvil
      @TheNocturnalEvil ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lukaszimmermann2215 Oh yeah I forgot about the KCB-77. Pretty much all the features we see on the M9 bayonet were copied from the KCB-77.
      Eickhorn also made a KCB-77 variant for AKs called the KCB-77 M7. It's hands down the best bayonet knife ever made for AK-pattern rifles. They're quite rare though.

      @lukaszimmermann2215 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheNocturnalEvil I bought a KCB77 on a flee market here in Germany. As a bayonett it is fantastic, verry light, the blade is only 3.5mm thick but the 55si7 steel is the most flexible steel i have ever seen. As a knife it is allmost useless. You get the steel sharp but it gets dull from looking at it alone. I think the best bayonet for stabing and field use are the classic m7 and the USMC Ontario bayonet.

    • @lukaszimmermann2215

      @@TheNocturnalEvil Eickhorn made a combat knife version of the KCB77 in the 80s and 90s.
      They had a normal finger guard and the blade was made from normal knife steel. My father had one of those knifes as he was part of the german army special forces.
