Very informative video. We are looking for a town to move to FL and DeLand meets most of our criteria. With you video you have provided to us a lot of information useful for us. Thank a lot for what you have done!
DeLand is a wonderful little town! If I could I would live in the historic part by the college. You can walk to so many restaurants. There are lots of old houses in that area. Good luck with the move!
It was the cutest little town. We did not know much about it until we visited. We picked the hotel because it was close to DeLeon Springs and in our price range. We ended up having a really nice time in this town and definitely want to revisit sometime down the road.
I'm over in The Villages and had never even thought about visiting anything past Mt. Dora. Now though I think it'll be a great day-trip to check out. I found this TH-cam video out of curiosity, because a FedEx package was sent to the office in Deland this morning and is on my way to me today, the day of Hurricane Milton's arrival to Florida. I hope everyone is safe and dry, and that I can come visit Deland in a couple of weeks!
DeLand is a cute small town. There are lots of restaurants. The college there has a Christmas event. We love finding small towns and making videos on these places. It helps out small businesses to get more customers. We did ones on Amelia Island, Flagler Beach, Micanopy, Dunedin, Navarre Beach, Defuniak Springs, Etc. We love old hotels and history! I'm glad you enjoyed this video! 🙂
It looks like an amazing town! I would love to live in the historic area with all the restaurants. I would walk all the time. Congrats on the move, and thanks for watching! 🙂
DeLand is my hometown. The Athens theater looks different from how it was years ago. With a big Guitar on the front of it. And the old clock was in the corner of New York Ave and the Boulevard.
It seems like that everywhere unfortunately. Hopefully Florida will still keeps its charm. You definitely have to get up early if you want to visit anything. DeLand is one of our favorites!
Groovy Records is by far the “Bestest” place for musical nostalgia and they have guitar 🎸 strings as well as guitars and turntable stuff as well as turntables and rock and roll stuff. Jerry and his staff are the best!! So be sure to stop by and say rEVOLation g’URL sent ya;) Be Blessed 😇 Don’t forget DeLand’s Southern hospitality and kindness.Oh, and thank you that was fantastic job talkin bout my little Town !
moved to deland in 1978 it was called '' dead land '' as the town rolled up by 8 pm . and on 2 p.m on sat ..now its the place to hang ..but out of down town its like anyother place
We were surprised how many restaurants were in the downtown area. The food was good too! We love it when old towns revitalize their downtown. Thanks for the share!
Sorry we did not listen to any bands there. I tried seeing if there were any recommendations online but not popped up. There was lots of good food when we went. Hopefully, you will find what you are looking for. Thanks for watching! 🙂
I know this is old, but just so you will know, the city of Deland not only is historic but also movies, like days of thunder, Tom cruise, and also water boy Adam Sandler, were filmed there, day of thunder seens in the dark brown park that you guys were in, and the Deland bull dog srltadium we're water boy was filmed😊
I am not sure why you are yelling at me, but okay. I have family members who are gay. We do not judge people because it is not up to us to do so. Life is hard enough and people have to find their own way of life that makes them happy. Sorry you feel this way
@@lakelandonna sorry it bothers you so much. I feel like there are better things to do with my life beside think about other people's sexual preferences.
I was born and raised in Deland, Fl. Moved to Arizona six or seven years ago. Miss this place so much.
We had never heard of it until we wanted to check out DeLeon Springs State Park. We loved it and have now visited it twice. Such a cute town!

AS SOON AS I SAW THE RAINBOW FLAGS I LOST ALL INTEREST. WHAT A SHAME. COULD BE A NICE PLACE TO LIVE, BUT THE LGBT IS SO OFFENSIVE TO ME.

DeLand is old Florida so the few "progressive" slanted spots downtown should not lead you to think that there is a strong blue current.
Good to know
Lame couple
Wow! Rude much? Sorry you don't like our videos, but guess what? You don't have to watch them or comment. 🤷♀️
