  • My client Mike has had enormous success reversing his prediabetes using a CGM. And he did it quickly.

    I use CGM to help me learn about portion sizes. If I have 3 cups of popcorn blood sugar rise wasn’t so bad…my normal popcorn bowl …big spike.

    Hey, Ezekiel's Sprouted Bread (the orange wrapping) does not spike my glucose hardly at all, especially with butter or cheese on it and toasted. Or better yet, with avocado.

    I have been using a BG meter since I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in September of 2022. A CGM is definitely something I am going to get and see what my triggers are and to monitor my healing.

    I'm partial IR (during first hour of 75 sugar gram OGTT, but back down to normal by 2nd hour). I use the Lib3 CGM and it's very interesting. I don't get that morning spike at all, but it spikes up close to 150 but does not go over due to proper hacks, low-carb diet, and NO sugar. My average sugar per day is only 13 grams from a little fruit and peanut butter now and then. I like looking at it and seeing when it will go up while eating a meal with each food in proper hacking order with fiber first, then protein/fat, then a sweet at the end, but always a sugar-free one without bad ingredients like maltodextrin, hydrogenated oils, trans-fats, etc. My diet is absolutely NO inflammation.
    I feel great and was thinking about dating again. Then I remembered how nutty modern women are these days. I've decided to get a female dog instead and get back to spending my time outdoors having fun and exercising. With a CGM, its fascinating, although I'm like a cyborg now. LOL

    With the readings that he talked about, I don't think Mike had "pre"diabetes. I think he had the full version.

    Good content except it was not prediabetes but actual diabetes which was treated by medications. And was he able to completely reverse it to not taking any medication now? He said they took him off of glipizide but didn’t mention about any other meds. The title need to be accurate

    I get frustrated with conversations of this kind in which participants use the words “high,” “low,” and “normal” without quantifying the expression of these judgments. Fasting glucose reference ranges are different from non-fasting reference ranges. When you are doing intermittent fasting, for example, the time boundaries between fasting and non-fasting blood samples can collapse into each other so that you cannot easily differentiate. Knowing “the numbers” is insufficient without context.

    Shame that they are prohibivley expensive for the vast majority of people.
    IMHO, a person can do five finger pricks per day and get decent enough information to make changes.

      Hey. Most people don't realize that they typically cost about $40/sensor at the pharmacy. When you wear them intermittently, that's not bad for such helpful data.

      I will invest in one for sure when I feel ready to make some changes to my diet.

      5 finger sticks a day? Sorry that's 35 a week and I only have 10 fingers. Not reasonable.
