    I homeschooled 6 children and used this book for each of them. I found another great book to help them learn to sit for the lessons and also to build the skills needed to begin reading. It’s called Getting Ready to Read by Julie Shaffer. It works hand in hand with this book.

    You are amazing! 👍🏾 I have watched several reviews of this curriculum and YOU HAVE BEEN THE BEST! I appreciate all the little add-ons that you suggest. I am helping my daughter-in-law with teaching my granddaughter to read. I just thank you so much, Janet. ❤️ You are very thorough. I will definitely use the Bob Books and the sticker-lesson chart. Thank you again. 📖

    Thank you for the thorough review! We’ve been using Logic of English but it’s starting to be too much so I just picked up TYCTR. Fingers crossed it works - I’m thinking of making a comparison video of the two programs if I end up switching 😀. Also love BOB books! Do you use any other early readers - my son doesn’t like to reread books too much!

    This video was incredibly helpful. My son is on lesson 23 and is flying through the book. I want to get the BoB books but I've found them to be a bit pricey but I still want to buy at least a set to see if my son will be interested. I'm gonna try the library but I have some fines right now so I don't know if they'll even let me check anything out virtually.

    • @ThisReyesSchoolHouse
      @ThisReyesSchoolHouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! Library’s do have them available. Our library will let us check out books as long as our fees aren’t more than $15 if so, we can pay the fees to get it to $15 haha and then we can borrow some books haha

    • @ThisReyesSchoolHouse
      @ThisReyesSchoolHouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes totally get it!! The chart provided in the parents guide does a great job at making it clear how the sound is pronounced. It shows you how they will show the sound in the book, and also a word that the sound is used in so you know you’re saying it correctly.
      Every time a new sound is introduced, I go back to the chart!

      12 months had already passed since we used this specific program, a reading manual. The reading knowledge of my very own girl has continually improved. Right now, she is now able to read a few textbooks. Not just that, she is a superb speller also. What’s even more exciting is she can writes sentences today. Research about this reading book on Google. The reading guide’s *4ChildrenReading. Com*

      When we first introduced it at 3 years old, we did do the sound writing activity in this book. Before the book we did do handwriting practice....mostly pencil control just tracing lines and big letters.
      We stopped using the book for a while since it was too much.... but continued with handwriting practice.
