Welcome to Tarot mode. Tarot mode is a Violent Struggle mode, so it is only available during specific times. In Tarot mode, 3 survivors and a hunter compete against another 3 survivors and hunter to see who can take out the "King" first. One of the survivors is labelled as the King, the other two are Squires. The hunter is the Knight. Standard gameplay rules are used, but with many twists. Let's go over them. Decoding does not open gates, but it is still recommended. Decoding ciphers and performing other point-earning actions allows you to spend those points to buy items that either help your team or screw over your enemies. In addition, after the team decodes a combined total of 3 ciphers worth, Borrowed Time and Detention activate for your team if they have those talents. Only the King can be chaired and eliminated, so protecting him is a must, as the game will end in defeat if your King is eliminated. The King can take an additional hit before going down, and Terror Shocks do not down him immediately if he is uninjured. He also gets a 10 second shield when freed from a chair. (Same with the rescuing squire) Squires cannot be chaired, and they can completely recover on their own at all times if they have the talent. On the OTHER hand, you'll want to interfere in the enemy King's evasion whenever possible. Bodyblock, slam pallets in their face, use the Cowboy's lasso! The Knight can pick their Squires and King up instantly, but this ability has a long cooldown, they may only pick the King up once per game, and this ability is not available during the endgame, which I'll get into later. A Knight's talents, such as Panic do not affect their team. If neither King has been eliminated after 8 minutes, a 2 minute countdown will start. At the end of this countdown, the exits will open, the Knights will gain Detention for the rest of the game (even if they don't have the talent), and they will be unable to pick up their Squires/King. The first King to escape wins the game for their team. Some Hunters and Survivors are banned in this mode.
