My kid attended CGS once. I happened to stay with the class and observed. The teacher basically left children in freedom without discipline. The table was provided with projects and stationeries, but no kid was doing anything because the teacher left kids to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, so the kids were all playing “catch me if you can”…
Peace and I pray you’re doing well. I’m a trained Montessori and CGS teacher and going through discernment on these. Is there a best way to communicate with the speaker of this podcast? Thank you and may you have a blessed day 🙏😇
You can mistconstrue anything you want about anyone. There is too much good fruit that comes from CGS and Montessori(applied in a Catholic setting) to give this video any weight. It is sad to see so much energy put into tearing something down that is beautiful (CGS and Montessori)! Montessori's life, like all of ours, has mistakes and sinfulness, but I do not believe for a second that her work wasn't sincere and a gift from God.
Your comment only shows that you have an inordinate attachment to this teaching method. At the end of the day we should not involve ourselves with things rooted in evil, with heretical origins, founded by occulists. Say what you will about your personal observations and applications, it's no different than doing yoga poses and saying "I'm just stretching!" What you perceive as good fruit can be deceptive. Even sedevacantists pray the rosary, give alms, and fast fervently. You can appreciate the benefits of hands on learning and wooden toys without coping for writings and curriculum created by a heretic.
I went through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as a child, and I started to train to be a catechist myself. This video is completely accurate. Montessori's views are very much engrained into the program, and we are not given many instructions on how to present works. That struck me as very odd; I personally don't trust myself to teach true Catholicism based off my own ideas and wonderings. Parents are also kept in the dark about what is taught and what is not taught in the classroom, which is sketchy in and of itself.
I am so sorry to hear of your experience. My training (all three levels) has been very thorough and I feel very confident in the doctrine we are offering the children. Our local parish also works very diligently to incorporate parents into the atrium experience and how to help them navigate how it is different than a school experience. I too would be concerned about a program that keeps parents in the dark, but that sounds like it was a local parish thing, as it is not the way CGS operates as a whole
So what is to be said about a Catholic school who embraces a Montessori style education system. My local primary school implanted the Montessori education system.
Read the CGS Exposed site , the article written my Br. James" A Thomistic Critique: The Final Cause 6 of 6, is a summary of all the other articles on the site. It is frightening to think about what the fruits of the program will be long term. Send the school board members this video and the one on Montessori.
Wow, this has been an eye opener. I’m doing level one CGS and now have some questions for my trainers. Why is it so hard to find good authentic catechism training? 😔
@@brittanyramirez6397 Well it seems parishes can choose how to do their catechist training. I’m going to continue with CGS and look into the Baltimore catechism as well.
Wow. Not sure what this video is going to do to beautiful experience I just had studying CGS/Montessori level 1. However I am happy to dive in and become objective.
The greatest theologian in history, Saint Thomas Aquinas (who formulated much of what the Church now teaches), drew upon and often quoted Muslim and pagan philosophers. Does that mean he approved Islam or Greek dieties? Of course not! Maria Montessori had some wrong ideas, but there is a lot she got right. The early Christians converted pagan temples into Christian temples; they didn't just burn the temples to the ground. Lets try to have more subtle thought than what is presented in this video, and take the good but leave the bad.
The error of Religious Syncretism has been condemned by the magisterium of the Catholic Church. I think the criticism here is that she espoused a form of Religious Syncretism. If that is true, your point about Aquinas is irrelevant as he was certainly not a Religious Syncretist.
"I am the way,the truth and the life,no man cometh to the father but by me"- Jesus christ, son of God. "Repent and be baptised for the forgiveness of your sins...". (From the Holy bible) You must have Jesus christ as your lord and savior to be saved.
5:21 No, since as stated in the very text, the help is in guiding the TEACHING of the child (aka acquiring reliable knowledge, know-hows, gaining awareness about learning itself and about himself/herself). Thanks for this, 2 of my kids had 1 year of CGS, our local Catechists were certified for CGS. I have always known evolution was wrong, and have been aware of the Teilhardian heresy, but didn’t know or see that in the Atrium. I do now. Especially the teacher student relationships. Eeeeeeew! Very creepy. I forwarded these 2 videos to my parish DRE and Catechist trainers, and CGS teachers. I wonder how much fur will fly or how complicit they are. We’ll see...
This is the only garbage that Sensus fidelium has ever produced. The way he argues, he sounds like a flat earther. It also makes me wonder if he is actually ever taught a child, has children of his own, or has even taught CGS. There too many errors in his arguments to go into. I would have to do a 52 minutes 12 seconds video about what he did wrong, because I'm sure he got 10 minutes right on something. Be warned. This presenter has an agenda, and it isn't to be truthful.
@@ajpa3120 I've already argued some points on other threads. Have better knowledge a Montessori than most people do when I was getting my Master's in education, my wife teaches CGS and has a master's in liturgy. We both have undergrad degrees in music and Bible. And one of the most holy women I know who's a consecrated virgin finds no problem with CGS and how it is taught. My main argument would be that all religions in the world including all the ones that are false have some part that is true. I'm against Theosophy and Montessori's involvement in it. But there are truths within it otherwise people wouldn't believe it. Either way children learn to love God and understand the truth of Catholicism and they learn how to pray. no one has been able to give a better program for young children so what should we do? just not teach them? no we have a great program with CGS. As long as the teachers are properly trained and are good catechized Catholics founded in the truth of the pre V2 Catholic Church, there isn't a problem.

The evil ones can kill our bodies but our souls belong to the Heavenly Father
Scholasticism, solid catechism books, and morally upright teachers are the solution.

Why do 70%of Catholics bot believe in the true presence in the Eucharist?
Because those adults were taught from workbooks not CGS.

This woman was deeply infected with evil.
I think you are.... certainly not Sofia Cavalletti
I was told by a holy priest, if it didn't come directly from the church herself, don't do it... Don't read it. Don't apply it.
What is the beautiful singing at the beginning? 😇
It's the Gregorian Chant "Ave Maris Stella". You can find this version by searching on TH-cam for "Sensus Fidelium Ave Maris Stella".
Sounds Grecian accented. Sublime
