Rose McGowan, who played Tatum in the original Scream, accused him of sexual assault 3 years before this came out and she was blacklisted from Hollywood by him. Wes Craven was still close with Rose so this movie was actually calling him out years before it became public.
Scream 2 and scream 3 had many rewrites, GF killers and endings because it kept getting leaked to the public during filming. Thats why in scream 3 the kept mentioning the rewrites for the new "stab" movie.
The Detective Mark is married to Sidney it was confirmed in Scream 5 by Dewey asking how Mark is when he calls Sidney, she and Mark had three off screen kids together. 👍

Fun fact about this movie, there was originally 3 Killers: the Brother, the chick playing Sydney for the Stab Movie, and Stu Macher. Stu was scrapped in the first draft of the script. Originally, Angelina was supposed to have gone to high school with Sydney but been kind of an outcast/stalker type who wanted to be Sydney. She and Roman were also an item, making for a VERY Game of Thrones style relationship. Ultimately the studio didn't like the idea of a pseudo-incestuous relationship and it ended up as just Roman being the killer
Last year I saw (& immediately saved) The Assembly Cut of Scream 3, it is quite different especially the beginning with Cotton stuck in LA traffic, it's longer (prob why it was cut) & has Ghostface's voice instead of the fake female voice & ends with the alternate/deleted scenes seen on the DVD/Bluray i.e Christine's death. The Assembly Cut also has more scenes in Sidneys home in the woods, a longer talk with Ghostface & a small tiny scene of Ghostface preparing the voice modulator. It also shows Dewey being smart & brave!! In the final showdown instead of "accidentally" (causing the lights to go off for Sidney to hide from Roman) he PLANS IT to give Sidney a fighting chance!! Defiantly saying to Gale "He can't kill what he can't see!!" 🤯🥰👏 The Cut (at 2hrs 22secs) is very low quality (641mb file) black & white with watermarks & was immediately taken down by Paramount but for fans if you can find it still, it's an interesting & fascinating watch. I'm not having them on my back so don't ask me!! 😂 However if you put "Scream 3 Assembly Cut" into a youtube search you might smile...😉..Some of it has survived
