      I wonder if Murray ever asked any of his colleagues, British or American, how they would feel if their kids or other relatives were tortured to get them (the colleagues) to confess.
      When a US doctor who was performing unethical medical research on Guatemalan peasants was ask how what he was doing differed from what Mengele did, he indignantly replied, "He was a Nazi."

    I’ve subscribed to Craig Murray’s blog for many years. He is one of the greatest journalists and activists of my lifetime. The Scottish Government framed him for the crime of Journalism and sent him to prison for 6 months when he reported from the Alex Salmond trial. Last week an English Tory MP gave a speech using Parliamentary privilege exposing the Scottish corruption. Not one British media outlet reported this story. Only for independent media such as Katie Helper, the Grayzone, Craig Murray, the Electronic Intifada, the Duran, Judging Freedom…we would never have a chance

    • @davidwright8432

      Nothing less than the plain, unvarnished truth. The Scottish government's treatment of him was corrupt and contemptible.

    Arrogance, bigotry, impunity and racism are why there is this indifference by so many US and U.K. personnel.

    • @PeterCraigMartin
      @PeterCraigMartin 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say psychopathy (innate) and sociopathy (learned) are even bigger factors. Without a complete lack of empathy, it's difficult for most neurotypicals to move from garden-variety arrogance, bigotry, impunity, and racism to full-bore torture and murder. (There's a reason suicide rates are so much higher among Iraq War vets than in the population at large.) What Hannah Arendt called the banality of evil, I'd call the under-recognition of empathy-deficit disorders.
      The whole reason the Nazis developed closed extermination camps and used _prisoners_ to move cadavers from the showers to the ovens was because so many German soldiers developed _severe psychological problems_ from machine-gunning Jews and gassing them with engine exhaust in the back of trucks. The extermination camps were a more removed, more "antiseptic" solution, as I suppose having suspects tortured by Egypt, Syria, Uzbekistan, etc., instead of by US and UK personnel was for us.
      The only way most neurotypicals can tolerate genuinely vicious and depraved inhumanity and still think reasonably well of themselves - without joining the psychologically wounded - is if they don't participate in it directly and manage to ignore that it is happening somewhere else. Unfortunately, a lot of neurotypicals are pretty good at that last part.

    It’s so weird to see that what the mainstream press doesn’t tell you is so basic and easy to understand. And yet so many people still accept the narratives put out by the establishment and refer to people who question it as conspiracy theorists

    • @slappyfun
      @slappyfun 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This is why I am optimistic on our side because it takes so much more energy, money, and lies to keep people believing the mainstream narratives whereas the truth is so much clearer and easy to understand.

    • @musiqtee
      @musiqtee 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I certainly agree…! And recently learned that the decoupling between moral and what we later call(ed) “politics” occurred across Europe towards the end of medieval times.
      Maybe a parallel to how we at the start of modernity taught ourselves to define “nature” as something external to our being and acting.
      This is also the period when Europeans (some stronger entities) started to categorise and label “others” as inferior or ‘better’ - targets of acquisition or of admiration.
      We (Europeans) simply stop being indigenous and belonging, as we “progressed” - and blame people who still were (are) indigenous in their (now colonial) locations.
      The sources maintain that this split didn’t occur at such a scale through earlier shifting empires, or even in Europe before the long aftermath of the West-Roman empire.
      Could this be a humbling thread to understanding “western culture” or modernity better - and how the scale of atrocities is so large in our time?

    I remember reading an article thirty or forty years ago on the psychology of torture, describing the treatment of torturers in training: pushing othering/in group/out group, dehumanisation of the `enemy`, and physical abuse directed at the trainee to break him down for increased pliability and susceptibility, conditioning him to permit and perform acts causing death, great injury and pain, and the consequent degradation and injury to the society at large of the torturing people, from the loss of humanity.

    One thing I've noticed about sadists, they love to brag. I've been around a few unfortunately. In one instance, I was a cab driver. At the beginning of my shift, sometimes I'd hang around talking to the guys until I got a fare. The was a bail bond company next door. Sometimes a couple of those guys would come over when they had nothing going on. I was there once on one of these occasions. I guess both of these guys were prison guards at one time, and started recounting some of their experiences. The torture and cruelty they visited on the prisoners were horrifying. One would tell his story, and the other would try to one up him with something more grotesque. I realised this was just going to continue, and went out to my cab. Ive never been a coward, or shyed away from a fight when it was necessary. These guys recounted these tales with the relish one might have with a past sexual experience. It was sickening.

    Cheers, Craig! Torture is a method of “silent” perpetuating war against “victim” people around the world In a sense, we as consumers are guilty of this exploitation when we drive cars, use cell phones, etc., etc., without thinking about how inhumane the extraction of resources and manufacture of products is. We accept it and have learned through conditioning not to think about it, even to justify it with flimsy arguments. Hanna Arendt once called it the banality of evil. Ghaza is one more telling example. But who am I telling?

      In 1991, Dick Cheney (former US Vice President) sent his people from Halliburton to the Caspian Sea for geo-reconnaissance. Their bankers and oil companies built an oil pipeline to supply Europe through “their” territory of Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan. Another pipeline and their competitor was Russian from Baku through Chechnya, Dagestan to Novoross in Russia.
      In Azerbaijan, company Mega Oil founder, General Richard Secord, a veteran of the CIA, drug operations in Laos, Bush41, Turki bin Faisal Saudi intelligence, Osama bin Laden, etc. 1991 in Baku Richard Secord founded MegaOil company aswell as small airline - a cover for a program for purchasing weapons and transferring Afghan Mujahideen mercenaries from Osama to Baku, then with CIA money to Chechnya and Dagestan. The CIA's strategy was to finance extremist separatist movements to keep Azerbaijan on the side of the United States, to force companies to cooperate and to destabilize regions - by attracting the Mujahideen to fight the Armenians in the Karabakh war and to destabilize Chechnya.

    It utterly disgusts me to hear that my government, the government of the United States of America is guilty of things that would be appalling to some of history's most ruthless leaders. The reason it would appall them is because of the reasoning behind these horrific acts. Yet the US government, supposedly the beacon on the hill for all humanity since at least the end of WW2, is guilty of committing acts no less heinous than those done by Germany, or Japan in WW2, and if you know of some of the things outside of the common narrative that they did before and during the war, it would make any patriotic American sick to their stomach knowing that the supposed most humane and law abiding government in the modern world is guilty of such atrocities.
    Remember how they tout their "rules based world order" ?
    I guess they mean the world needs to be ordered to follow their rules, of course they are allowed to write the rules, yet they are exempt from said same rules !

    I am your sister from Yemen, and by Allah I only spoke out of hunger and distress. My mother, my brothers, and I lessons and tears. We are in a situation that only God knows about. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs for those who brought us to this situation. By Allah Almighty, I did not write this appeal out of distress and distress. Poverty, O world, they have felt it So, I hope for you. By Allah Almighty, Lord of the Great Throne, he ate what I had in the house. By Allah, my brothers, he is my brothers by sitting in the house. Who has no food? By God, we are in a very difficult situation. We have 6 people entering the house, and my father has died, and there is no one who can depend on us and who lives in it.We live in a rented house because we cannot pay the rent we owe. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' ''''''''''''' My brother, my first words are: I swear to God that I will not lie to you or deceive you. I am a Yemeni girl displaced from the war. My family and I live in a rented house in Al-Shahrab 20,000 Yemenis among us, and now we owe 60,000 for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of the people who does not have mercy, by God, my brother. He comes every day, insulting us, talking about us, and moving from the house to the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. The neighbors saw us crying and came back.They came back to talk to the neighbors and we were given the weekend. So we made him swear by God. He will take us out into the street. Have mercy on him and us. Our country is due to this war and we do not find food for our day, and my brothers and I live in a difficult life. Our father died, may God have mercy on him, and we have no one in this world who was with us in these harsh circumstances. My younger brothers went out into the street and saw...The neighbors eat and stand at their door in order to give them bread even if they break it. By God, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, they closed the door and expelled them and came back crying. They are dying of hunger. No one has mercy on them and a holiday is returned. I have made a living, and now if one of us helps us with a kilo of flour, I swear to God, I am dying of hunger. My brother, I am an alien to God. Then, I ask you to help me for the sake of God. I ask you, by God, to love goodness and to help me, even if you can, by messaging me on WhatsApp.On this number 00967716649494 and ask for the name of my card and send it and do not be late and may God reward you with all the best, my brothers Sagar, see how they are and help us and save us before they throw us out in the street, you will be lost or we will die of hunger. My family and I ask you, by God, if you are able to help us, do not be late and may God reward you well..`/--~«««~-◊~◊~◊~~•~•~◊~◊~◊~~: ~:~¡~¡~¡~;I.i.i.i.i.i.¡i.I.|- &;&&;🎉😢

    “Operation Iraqi freedom” was the saintly title for the brutal invasion of Iraq. “Operation unified protector” was the angelic name for the destruction of Libya.
    “Operation enduring freedom” was the virtuous name given to the unjust invasion of Afghanistan. All in the name of "freedom and democracy".

    I don't think the ambassador is familiar with his own ideology. He sounds very firmly a "humanist." I appreciate what he did, and his voice, but he is philosophically confused. To suggest, for example that people view others as "subhuman" assumes that people must have a special love or valuation of all humans -- as if simply being human bestows people with some kind of intrinsic worth. But there there is no historical, anthropological, or psychological justification to believe that. It is an ideological faith. It is a religion. Humans can be degraded by other humans and it doesn't take the people doing the degrading to view them as not-human, it just requires them to view particular humans as less valuable or worthy. They could even find non-humans more valuable than some humans. They could care about their dog or cat or horse more than they care about their human enemy or even just a human stranger they have no animosity toward. There is nothing astonishing about that (or essentially evil; in fact some people should be valued less than lots of non-human animals). Lots of people place the value of invisible imaginary beings greater than humans, and those invisible imaginary beings aren't human. People often use metaphors that are degrading and they are not human, such as trash or cockroach or rat; but people can also use metaphors of non humans that are exulting, like lion or god. It doesn't mean they actually don't think they are homo sapiens. Its metaphor. Metaphor is a medium of human emotion. Some times through history some individuals have actually proposed that some "races" weren't human, and meant it as empirical, not metaphorical, but that is relatively rare.

      A+ for effort, but no! Better check your sources, before making baseless claims!!!! According to the Torah, Israel is indeed “A HOLY NATION.” Maybe Tel Aviv should give you a Tutorial.👌

    If you ever seen the special features section of the movie “Rendition “, see what happened to wrongly identified Khalid ElMasri- tortur.d at a black site then dumped in a foreign country. Innocent the whole time.
