Wow, this Moho animation tutorial series is a lifesaver! There are very few comprehensive learning resources out there, and your videos stand out in quality and clarity. The way you break down each concept makes it so easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your expertise and helping the animation community grow! Keep up the amazing work! 🙌🎨
I normally don’t praise the machine, but I’m thankful for whatever strange circumstances made the youtube algorithm recommend this channel. This is exactly, what I needed. Like explicitly crafted for me. Thank you so much
I must say as far this is the best series of tutorials about Moho and also one of the best about 2d animation. Your got great skills and i think everone here is happy that you wanna share your experience and skills with other. Great work can't wait for another episode
As a person who is not from animation background (I don't have any friends with whom I can discuss about animation & stuff), I wanna thank TH-cam to recommend me your channel. Eventhough, I'm pretty much aware how Moho works but, WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING. I WANNA THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. MAY GOD BLESS YOUUUUU. SUBSCRIBED YOUR CHANNEL RIGHT AWAY, PLEASEEEEEE DON'T STOP THIS SERIES MANNNN!!!! SENDING LOVE FROM INDIA 🤍✨️
This looks great! It's also very inspiring. Thank you. Loved the sound of the machine when you first tested the rig, made me laugh. Looking forward to watching the next one (and the next, and the next and the one after that etc.)
Very entertaining and inspiring at the same time. I learned mold in a self-taught way by watching videos on the internet. With this first quick video I already learned things. I can't wait to see more !!!!!
cant wait for that drawing tutorial honestly. I am just getting started with moho today and I feel lost trying to learn all these new tools and shortcuts.
@StriderWolf, Hang in there! Working in Moho is a little unusual, but once you understand a few concepts, it's not hard to learn and use. We're going to focus on shorter videos for a while to teach Moho in small steps. We're also planning a few exercises with downloadable content.
"Details are for the Designs we made earlier. The Storyboard is about the Story." (Proceeds to put ALL the stripes on his Kitty.) :p Seriously, though, this is really wonderful! Keep 'em coming. :)
“(Proceeds to put ALL the stripes on his Kitty.) :p” Hi @FonceFalooda2! Hmm…you sound like my producer. Do you guys know each other? Anyway, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
I was waiting for that "where is my sandwich" part and was hoping it would be gone by the end lol. I personally would love slow paced complete beginner tutorials, this was great, thank you!!!
Thank you, elviskariuki! I am happy to hear the pacing was good. Since this was a long video (for me, anyway,) I was a little concerned about that. I'll be making short videos for a while, but I'll think about to making more longer format ones.
I can't wait for you to upload the other tutorials this is exactly what I was waiting for thank you so much for sharing and the time you have put in this tutorial
Happy to help, @gugo6842! Part 1 of our vector drawing in Moho tutorial should be coming out in the next week. I'll make an announcement in the channel's Community tab pretty soon!
This is so exciting, and I can’t wait to follow along on this journey. I am curious… in the storyboard / animatic phase I’m assuming you use a drawing tablet. What are your personal recommendations for setup of pen settings when using a pen & tablet in Moho? Thanks so much for doing this.
Hi @jobbahthehal! You are correct: when using the Freehand tool in Moho, I prefer using a tablet. On my desktop, I use a Wacom Cintiq, but almost any tablet should be fine. A while back, in the Lost Marble forums, I described my experience using different tablets for Moho. I’ll think about doing something similar in video form. I really need to update the info anyway, because pen support in Moho was greatly improved in Moho 14.2. If you’re using an older version of Moho, there are a few important settings to be aware of. I’ll provide a link here later today with more info. For anything else I do in Moho, I prefer using a mouse. This includes drawing with Add Points, which is what I use to create all of my final ‘puppet’ art. I'll get into that in an upcoming tutorial video.
Your tutorials are fantastic! I'd love to learn more about rigging and animation, especially for a character I created in another program. Specifically, I'd like to know how to import an SVG file, rig it, and animate it properly. (Last time I tried this, the character started distorting, so any tips to avoid that would be great!)
HI, @judgeworks3687! I can think of two ways: 1.) use an image sequence inside a mask, and 2.) create your 'fill' texture using Moho's animated brushes. If you're on the Moho Animation Software Discord server, be sure to look up Pierre Gombaud's excellent demonstration of the second technique here: discord.com/channels/1123979330171715664/1125815874113261690/1289966812913729689
Hi, @ottobonchristopher2132. I asked D.R. and he says, "I've been collecting and creating audio samples for decades, but in our recent LGD content, I've been mostly using depositphotos.com for SFX and music." Thanks for asking!
hello green dog I have a little problem in moho I want to apply the same animation to multiple layers. I have designed 10 shirts, but I have only animated one of them. How can I copy or apply that animation to other shirts? Please make a video about it if you can love your videos
Hi, @ashenadeesha21! D.R. says, "There are a few different ways to do this, and the answer depends on how you set up the artwork and layers." He suggests asking this question in the Moho forums (lostmarble.com/forum/) so he can offer more details. And, yes, he can make a video about this afterward! Thanks for writing!
That's a good idea! There are a few scripts and tools I use all the time. I'll make a series describing my favorite scripts and third-party tools, and show how I use them. Most of them are free or cheap!
I asked D.R. and he said: Hi, @RichardVanLe! Do you mean extra tools in general, i.e., the ones at the bottom of my Tools window? Or the horizontal window sometimes seen in the upper right corner of the screen? If you mean tools in general, I'm making a video about installing and using third-party tools in Moho, and separate videos about my favorite ones. If you mean the horizontal window with many buttons, that's called MQC (Moho Quick Click.) It a button panel that gives me quick access to frequently used Moho commands and a few useful macros. I'll make a video about this soon, along with a download link. Note: At this time, MQC runs only in Windows, but I'm looking into making a version that works for both Windows and Mac.
D.R.'s reply: Oh, yes, I have my third-party tools categorized using Tool Layout in Preference. It helps me find the tool I need more quickly. I'll explain how that works in the tutorial on installing and using third-party tools. Thanks for asking!
Hi @CrazysterArt, You can use Adobe Illustrator to draw and save the art as SVG to import to Moho. If you're not using AI-specific styling options, the conversion should work fine. But for character art that will be deformed using Bones and Smart Bone Actions, I recommend using Moho's built-in drawing tools. With the built-in tools, it's easier and more direct to optimize the vector art for rigging and animation.
