_D.R.'s Production Note:_ My long-time friends will notice this is a remake of a tutorial for Moho Pro 12.5 that I made many years ago. While making this brand-new tutorial for Moho Pro 14, I discovered that many of the suggestions from the old tutorial are now standard settings! Thank you, Lost Marble! 😸

I recently got Moho Pro 14 and have been looking for a video like this to just goes through the process. Enjoying the tutorial series you got here.
Pls make character rigging tutorial 😊
best tutorial everrr . moho was very new and complicated to me at first but i finally did something with it . thank u sooo much thank thank uuuu 💕💕✨✨✨
Cool.
Hey, thanks for such a great tutorial! I've got one question about the 37:35 fragment. You selected one part of a ribbon, then the second one with shift, and Moho automatically found the shape (points in between). Is there any tool option to select for that? Because in my case, I need to select all of the points manually (Moho 14).
I need tutorials character 360 please
i am using moho 14
So Some really useful tips here! Unfortunately I still don't know how to rearrange my docked panels without making them windows. For example, I'm so used to using Flash CS6 that I prefer having my Timeline panel stationed at the top of my interface, but seemingly the only way I can make that happen is by undocking the timeline panel entirely. Similarly I can't change the size of certain panels either. There's alot of blank space with my tools panel, am I just not able to slim it down?
Your tutorials are fantastic! I'd love to learn more about rigging and animation, especially for a character I created in another program. Specifically, I'd like to know how to import an SVG file, rig it, and animate it properly. (Last time I tried this, the character started distorting, so any tips to avoid that would be great!)
Why does SVG work differently than drawing it directly in Moho using the vector tool?
You are the best plz keep going
damm damm why did it happen that moho 14 has so much good videos on youtube? with moho 12 there was nothing
D.R. says: Hi @KassTVNL! Many of the techniques should apply to Moho 12.5. amd when it doesn't, I'll call out an alternative method if one is available. Thanks for commenting!
I finally gotten Moho Pro on Black Friday and Thanks for the tutorial, hopefully soon I'll learn all the features on it.
Hi @pedrosaabedra5653 ! Congratulations, and welcome to our channel! We're Moho and animation fanatics here, and I'm happy to meet you!
@TeamLittleGreenDog Thanks.
cant get another one soon enough. excellent content. Great tutorials
What is the Moho quick click panel? (Top fightmania)
D.R. says: Hi @animagicfilm! _Moho Quick Click (MQC)_ is a button panel I created with useful Moho commands and macros. MQC was meant to make Moho easier for me to use on a tablet, but it works great with a mouse too! I'll be uploading a video about downloading MQC and how to use it. Note: the current version of MQC runs on Windows only, but I'm looking into creating a version that runs on both Mac and Windows. Thanks for asking!
This is so helpful! Thank you. Will the future tutorials be paid? Will there be advanced tutorials? I'm really looking forward to it!
Hi, @neo-qz6bw ! Thank you for asking! We're keeping our tutorials and cartoon shorts free for everyone, but if anybody wants to help fund our work, we're starting _a Ko-fi for Little Green Dog_ today! The Ko-fi page is not ready yet to accept contributions, but I'll post an announcement later today. As for advanced topics, D.R. is creating a _Moho Expert_ tips & tricks series. More about that later.
Awesome tutorial 👌🏻 ✨️ tnx a lot ❤
Already love this channel , im in !!!
What script/plugin are you using to get those extra tools in the toolbar?
I asked D.R. and he said: Hi, @RichardVanLe! Do you mean extra tools in general, i.e., the ones at the bottom of my Tools window? Or the horizontal window sometimes seen in the upper right corner of the screen? If you mean tools in general, I'm making a video about installing and using third-party tools in Moho, and separate videos about my favorite ones. If you mean the horizontal window with many buttons, that's called MQC (Moho Quick Click.) It a button panel that gives me quick access to frequently used Moho commands and a few useful macros. I'll make a video about this soon, along with a download link. Note: At this time, MQC runs only in Windows, but I'm looking into making a version that works for both Windows and Mac.
@@TeamLittleGreenDog Sorry. I should have been more clear. Your Tools tab has extra icons (Draw+, UI, Rigging, Animation) at the bottom.
D.R.'s reply: Oh, yes, I have my third-party tools categorized using Tool Layout in Preference. It helps me find the tool I need more quickly. I'll explain how that works in the tutorial on installing and using third-party tools. Thanks for asking!
I spent 20 minutes today searching how to turn the checkerboard off but I didn’t know what it was called so I had no luck, so happy I watched this tonight! I love seeing all my layers so I’ll definitely be moving that style window out the way :) looking forward to learning more from your videos!
Update: My friend and fellow Moho artist Pierre Gombaud pointed out that the layer color list can also be accessed by right-clicking over the Visibility icon (the eyeballs,) so the Label column is no longer needed. This must be why the Label column was hidden for Moho 14. Yay! Mystery solved! You can ignore this part of the tutorial. Thanks for the tip, Pierre! You made my personal Moho settings even better!😸
I'm happy about that, Dennis! if I can teach you one thing in exchange for you teaching me ten things, that's a good deal for me ;)
Hi Little Green Dog, how did you do on this 0:19 shot where in you character and all the layers that you used can still see the background texture? did you just turn the alpha or the opacity for each layers and elements down or did you use another technique? the arms layer and hand are on top of the torso (body) however the arms and hand still see the texture of the background. I want to learn that technique too. Thanks in advance.
Hi @WhatACrazyWorldWeLiveIn ! I asked D.R. your question about the background texture, and here's his explanation: Thanks for your question! I'm guessing you're talking about the paper texture effect. This might seem counter-intuitive, but the paper texture layer is actually on top of everything else. To make the texture blend with the layers beneath, I have its Blend mode set to Multiply; this makes the darkest pixels in the texture blend with the lower layers like a cast shadow. To reduce the darkness of the shadow effect, I reduced the opacity of the texture layer. For the final render, I'm actually applying this shadow effect in After Effects, but the same setup also exists in the Moho project and was used for early testing. When the Moho version of this effect is enabled, it looks just like the After Effects version.
@@TeamLittleGreenDog Thank you so much will test this setup. I'm a new subscriber and will definitely looking forward for all your future videos, keep teaching and do the good works. More power to your channel.
Thanks

Greenlaw, what would we do without you? Big props for starting this series and always helping out in the boards! I know you said that you are not sponsored by Moho or Lost Marble, but lemme just say... You should be!
You are the best teacher out here love you 🙌
Such a useful tutorial, thanks! Will you have a tutorial/video on all the plugins you have on your Tool Panel?
Hi @_I-OvO-I_ ! Thank you, and yes! We have tutorials planned for installing and using our favorite Moho tool scripts, and about the accessory programs we use with Moho.
I recently treated myself to Moho to give another fun new animation tool a try on learning. So far the overlayers look a bit confusing so I highly appreciate your easy to grasp tutorials a lot.
"Hello, I have a question about Smart Bones. Suppose I have a female character with a front view, and I want to create a 360° turn. When the character turns to the back view, I want to add a clutcher to her hair. Is it possible to create the clutcher shape while working inside the Smart Bone Action? If yes, how can I ensure it animates properly with the 360° turn? Please suggest the best approach for this. Thanks!"
Hi @RahulKumar-pg6ob! I asked D.R. and he said: You should always add new items at frame zero, and it's better to do this in the Mainline, not while editing a Smart Bone Action. After you create the hair clutch art, you can edit its shape and animate it in the Smart Bone Action. It is possible to create art while editing a Smart Bone, but that could get messy and complicated, so I don't recommend it. How you set up the Smart Bone Action to reveal and turn the hair clutch depends on how you intend to animate the head turn. One suggestion is to add the hair clutch in a separate layer. This way, you can keyframe its visibility to come on as the character turns away from the camera. If you need to keep it in the same layer as the hair, you might keyframe the style's alpha to reveal the item or simply hide the item behind the hair and move it forward using Animated Shape Order. If you decide to use a separate layer for the hair clutch, you can animate it using Animated Layer Order as needed during the turn, or duplicate the layer at different stacking positions and animate their visibility to reveal the hair clutch's current layer position. (So, many options!) If you also want to turn the hair clutch (i.e., in '3D' perspective,) you can animate this as a point animation or a Switch Layer sequence and make the animation part of the head turn Smart Bone Action. (Advanced Tip: For turning an item like the hair clutch, sometimes I'll render a 360-degree turntable of the item created in a 3D program like Blender, and animate this Image sequence in Moho using the Smart Bone Action. You can see this used for Troll hair at the end of one of D.R.'s personal demo reels. ) If you need more detailed info, I suggest asking this in the Lost Marble forums. I hope this helps!
@TeamLittleGreenDog thank you for your time and help, i will choose on of the option
❤❤❤🎉
Thank you so much.
Legend bro is back...
A wonderful tutorial on Moho.
Great tips, thanks!
I recently bought Moho and am learning how to use it. Your tutorials are so high-quality! Thanks for all your hard work! Can't wait to see the next one!
Thank you! I'm happy to hear the lessons are helpful. D.R. is working on getting more tutorials out more quickly.
Great tips, thank you very much!
Beautiful animation! I love the art direction, animation and character designs! Awesome job overall!
Thank you! We're planning more Space Tommy adventures next year.
Very cute!!!
Thank you!
This tutorial was so helpful!! Thank so much for creating this, Dennis. It contained so many helpful tips- all of which I never considered. I often just use an app "as-is", right out of the box. But I changed my layout to match yours and it instantly improved. Thanks for taking the time to make this!! I am looking forward to the rest that you have coming.
That's great to hear! We hope the tips make it easier to follow future tutorials. D.R. will be uploading more Moho tips and tricks soon.
Thanks for this! I took a several month hiatus so I could focus on 3D animation (broadening my horizons), and I'm getting settled back in. Great to see a familiar face, and such helpful tutorials!
Checked out your channel. Really cool videos.
This is hot brother!! I have been with you since the start but it take too long for the next one to come I anxiously wait, this is a game changer for us who teaches ourselves you're a Blessing Brother.
Thank you! We're glad to hear these videos are helpful. D.R. is making changes to how he creates these videos, and they should be coming out more frequently soon.
Welcome guys I am with you.
