    Please Please like the video (not this comment) it really helps me.
    Not really intended as an audit this one - just a candid insight into what happens when you approach the base to fly a drone.
    I cycled all the way into the pitch black desolate Yorkshire moors to bring you this super secret US military spy base ☺️ drop a comment 🙏

    Actually if your drone does happen to crash land on private property they legally have to return it and the reason why is if they don't they are committing the crime of "theft by finding". It's quite important to inform anyone that says you won't get it back that you will report it as a crime if they withhold your property.

    • @pqrstzxerty1296
      @pqrstzxerty1296 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very true, but if the land is military (MOD), it will be under TRH Sec.of.State control. Crown Proceedings Act will thus apply. Meaning its up to the Sec.of.State if you get your crashed drone back, and not any laws (Acts) such as theft or fraud. Also if you do not agree with that under this Act you would need a Sec.of.State permission to proceed into a Court of law to appeal, sue, or injunction to get the drone back. So in reality its no chance of getting the drone back.

      @@doyoulikebeetroot thanks. What you might notice too is that I don't tend to chase after interactions. All the people that I speak with usually approach me knowing that I'm filming. I usually educate when given chance to buy first I will speak with them and try understand why they are saying what they are saying, because for all I know, there could be a reason for me not to film and fly. Example: some byelaws prevent drone flying and it's not shown on drone assist. Hence if someone says I can't do it, really I am obligated to hear out their logic first then if I get chance educate. Usually if they won't hear me out and interrupt me and are unreasonable - I turn it into a bit of a comedy situation. I've noticed you have managed to get some to agree with you simply by using their own logic back at them and they haven't really noticed what you did,
      I've been watching audit vids for years and like a lot of situations here and in the USA that auditor's come across people that just go by what 'seems' to make sense to them because they don't really know how to react to an unusual situation and just that is enough to throw them into panic 'what do I do' mode,
      It's always interesting to see just how programmed some people are that would probably argue away from work that they are free thinkers.

It's always been fascinating to me as well from being a young kid seeing the giant golf balls in the car with my Dad. Great content and great aerial shots. • @northernaudits
      @northernaudits  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Monklips wow that is my experience too my dad drove me up there to see them. I'm not sure why they haven't made it clearly illegal to fly over and issued the mod police with the rules to explain to anyone who tries to fly over. The byelaws are very old so they weren't intended to prevent a civilian drone flight they say onto or into the base, not over the base. I even asked the mod police and they checked and said as far as they know I'm right. They should close the airspace if it's an active RAF base. The other radar station (fylingdales) also doesn't have a flight restriction zone but they have a byelaw that prevents anyone flying anything lower that 400m or ft (can't remember which) but drones aren't allowed over 120m hence anyone at fylingdales flying over breaks the byelaws. That said so far as I can see the penalty is a 50 quid fine or something. I would pay 50 to fly over fylingdales 🤣

    This is THE most important comms intercept station on the planet.
    Maybe you didn't give plod your name but the base security knew your life history before you got within 50m of the fence. Think of the most advanced security system you can imagine. Well, theirs is ten times better. If you parked within a couple of miles, kept your phone switched on, searched for it on the internet, or told anyone where you were going within earshot of Alexa, they had you 'pinged' before you knew.
    I would imagine they have extremely advanced anti drone technology too. They let you fly because they knew you posed a very low threat. But they will have kept an eye on you, and probably still are....for a while.

    If I was in charge of some of these sites I'd be paying for rights to use the footage he gets.
    Great stuff! I'm genuinely surprised that no one has offered him money for the footage yet.

I then flew from a different spot and a car pulled up asking if I’d seen anyone flying a drone! Long story short, they let me go on my way (after showing them the footage & they mentioned possibly seizing the drone under the anti terrorism act) they weren’t MOD police though, but were armed.

    • @northernaudits
      @northernaudits  ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's an interesting fact that I found whilst meticulously researching the law for this video. I reckon this is the only RAF base left with a legal loophole to fly over. All the airstrip bases have red geo zones like airports, there are 2 radar stations without restrictions, Menwith Hill and Flyingdales. It's illegal to fly a drone over Flyingdales due to the byelaw that requires all overflights to be over the legal 120m for drones, but at Menwith - the bylaws talk about any animal, vehicle , vessel or thing being brought into or onto the base. The drone goes "over" not into or onto ☺️ and I can't imagine a 1996 byelaws document would be worded to prevent a civilian drone overflight. Just a case of the laws not keeping up with technology

    • @northernaudits
      @northernaudits  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SnakePliskin762 120m is the highest we can fly a drone as per cap722 document. Fylingdales has a byelaw (these aren't listed on drone assist so you have to be careful of them. Google fylingdales byelaws) that forbids flying over that low. if you attend an RAF base, do not walk into the property as trespass on those sites is criminal as per the relevant soca act (can't remember the name now) all the othe RAF bases are geo locked because they have airstrips and aircraft flying, that's a prison sentence 🤣
