That's very good information on the Capture One distortion correction or lack of with the WCL. I have the V for nearly 4 years now but have never used a conversion lens. The fact that the WCL has the same filter thread as the camera lens itself makes it the more likely of the two i would go for.
Well done Jay! Very informative, and an enjoyable video. I haven't tried a conversion lens yet, but really appreciate this information. I have learned so much from you, and I am forever grateful. 📷😊
Thanks Lucy! It's definitely something to consider if you are strictly shooting on the X100 body as the cost for the standalone Fuji 28mm (18mm) lens cost so much more!
I’ve often considered getting one for my X100F, but I’ve never liked the longer appearance. One day I reckon I’ll get it done and take the leap. Very informative video. ✌️
I had the desire to get a little wider shot from time to time and thought about trading my 100V for the X-T50. With this video I need to re think. Thanks for the info
I used the WCL-X100 almost all the time for years. It’s BIG drawback is that it spoils the form-factor of the X100 series. I used it now and then since buying a Fuji with interchangeable lenses.
That's true, I would agree that the form factor isn't ideal, but compared to the TCL it's a lot more tolerable. I guess the only other alternative is to get an x-e4 with the 18mm f2 which works out to be cheaper overall, assuming you don't already own an X100.
Haven’t tried it yet as I’m enjoying my one camera, one lens experience. That said, I might very well give it a try one day as I’m shooting mostly landscapes and the wider FOV would be closer to what I’ve been accustomed to with my iPhone. 📷🙂
Haha, I went through the same thing when I bought the X100V on day 1, which I don't regret. But with the rising prices, I almost wished I bought it 3 years ago, now the prices aren't as pretty...
I’ve bought both focal lengths. The 28mm I use so much with it, that it’s probably 50/50 for 2023. I don’t enjoy the 50mm one because of its unusual size it makes it a bit awkward to carry with the 100v.
Have you tried the WCL-X100? how was your experience with this conversion lens? Let me know!
Could also get a Leica Q and then you would have full frame also. If only it was affordable lol
Thank you Jay! You're my copilot when it comes to the Fujifilm X100V :)

Thanks for your insight about WCL Jay! I bought it half a year ago go and it always stay on my camera! I loved it the moment I got it. 🎉

Don't wait too long, it's bound to go higher in price once the new x100 lands
Great review…..Thanks so much!

I have both conversion lenses and I tend to use the WCL2 the most. Very sharp. I assume the new x!00vi will accept these.
yeh, hopefully the WCL is capable of resolving 40mp

Yeh I've called me to love the 28mm more now, it makes shooting from the chest or hip a lot easier once you get used to the distancing
Impressive
