  • Looking at the Part Design Mirror tool in FreeCAD and exploring the mirror by reference, mirror by construction and how the order of our mirroring will effect our output. We also explorer how to use a reverse clone to mirror a object and how to merge faces with the refine option. We learn how the mirror feature works with amendments after the mirror has been applied. This video is ideal for beginner and experts alike and it's the kind of information that I wish I knew when I first started out.

Once again I've learnt something new. It amazing how you can speed up the design process if you know how these things work and your videos are always so informative and clear and concise on the processes. I'd like to thank you once again for sharing your knowledge !!! I think you should call yourself Freecad Guru !! :-)

Thanks for the comments, always like to share the knowledge. Freecad gives you so many tools and there is always some little goody lurking somewhere. I spend a lot of time experimenting as I have some pretty leftield ideas for projects that I want to do so end up pushing freecad to see how I can tackle them. Anything I find that might be of interest I will always throw into a video in case someone can use it. Lol, I have yet to get to guru status but thanks anyway, and thank you for the support 😁👍

Nice video. Note that mirror will fail and throw an error "Only additive and subtractive features can be transformed" if you attempt to apply another mirror transform. Unfortunately, using multi transform has the same problem if a feature of the multi transform is a transform.

When using the Realthunder LinkStage 3 branch, I had to uncheck "transform sub feature" when doing the mirror. With this off, I only had to select the tip feature, not all features. It made mirror more robust.
