Do you take the unit off the kayak when your finished? I remove mine for a little more security but can't seem to find any end caps for the cables that remain behind. Any idea where to get some?

Bro great video I got the 12' sportsman minnkota, looking at fishfinder decided on Ray element 9hv great tutorial . Do more I'm studying. I was going to jump to Lowrance 9elitefs/ then add active target on yak .but electronic would hv cost more than the kayak, and hvnt caught 1 fish. Raymarine had better customer service. Who installed yours that's what problem having in Baltimore, Md? Lastly did you put in-line fuses on battery and fishfinder?
The settings I share in this video are what I use on Lake Michigan. When the water is clean, not stirred up, its really spot on. If the water is messed up from crazy winds/waves, you'd have to adjust for the dirtier water and debris in the water.

Do you find a certain speed is best for the kayak?
speed in what sense? Scrolling speed? If so, 100 is fine but you can go down to 80 as an alternative.

I run a 9 and think 9 is a great size for any kayak.

Yes always have an inline fuse to protect your finder. I installed it myself

i leave it at 100 but going down to 80 can help if you feel like the marks aren't showing as defined as you'd like

Why is the screen flickering ??
it happens when filming most screens...like a TV or in this case the fish finder screen. It's the video not the actual unit.
I never see fish on downvision, are they popping up at the black screen or the orange screen?
They are just little dods. If your 2D draws fish and downvision doesn't draw dod, it is most likely small fish and not worth of your time.
