Hey Brother Dave, @davidhooksteadinterviews, "This S?!T right here" must be done in stages, No.1) Secure our border. (Really Secure. not some half-A$$ B.S.) No. 2) "GET RID OF", the Bloody Cartels that are already "HERE"! Geeeze? Right? No.3) See how that works out for all of U.S. No.4) What's the best way forward, from there? Let me know, I'll be right here?

The problem with what the guy says is that most none of the guys he mentions are your enemies: they protect your democracy in countries most americans cannot find on the maps. Iraq was attacked without reason as scott ritter and not nly he said there were no WMD. Your greatst enemies are in your own country and on your southern borders two places where your armies are not. Hm how interesting.

the threat is not ten leaders with a few hundred members. the threat is multiple asymmetrical transnational criminal organizations with an estimated 350,000 members spanning multiple countries, and another 1.4 million affiliates operating within the US. and they are all funded directly by your colonial countries drug addiction epidemic.
the mission for you is eliminate your ignorance and arrogance. US should not destroy another generation of Americans just to satisfy the petty world domination obsession of another warmongering US president serving the interests of billionaire oligarchs

@Ryui-v2y Veteran here. The issue is that taking on the cartels cannot be done purely through military means. We already tried that in the 70s and 80s vis a vis the War on Drugs, which failed. Surgical strikes are great, but JSOC isn't big enough to take on cartels that number 100,000+ members. Economics will need to be utilized, along with policy changes, improved border security, international cooperation, and probably changes in drug scheduling.

I want the WWII foundational myth put to rest. It was nearly a century ago, can we collectively move on?
You ever notice how you never hear people talk about the Holodomor or what happened to the Christians who lived in Armenia and how the YoungTurks exterminated nearly one million people while the Holodomor had 3 - 5 million reported deaths.
Will my comment be seen? The censorship on YT is insane.

Yeah I mean we didn't have cartels before NAFTA which is pretty much what created the changes and incentives for Mexicans to start moving cocaine through their country for profit. Then again American drug laws also create the incentives for them or should I say what the American consumer is willing to pay combined with the wealth difference makes it highly lucrative. I'm not saying policies in the past wouldn't have made a difference. I'm just saying there's a reason for the myth of the Hydra.

Maybe not support a system that drives medical patients to addiction, then tossing them to the streets when the profits dry up? Why are so many USA citizens taking these drugs? To escape the reality of their future. The continued "war on drugs" will only lead to more violence (domestic and abroad) and increased costs that will spawn more crime. All this while those who profited from the prohibition of booze became kings of the USA, and booze is sold and promoted all over. Maybe if you found a way to have a safe, and taxed supply of drugs things could change.

The only people who think cartels can keep up with the military let alone DELTA, are people who idolize the cartels and the shit they do. You have these Mexican nationals that live here and are all enthralled with cartel life and think that because they kill innocent people that it makes them as dangerous as a delta operator. Someone who is paid so much money to train and kill people who kill people. These guys shoot so much ammo a year that it would be hard to put into something a normal person could understand. Like Brent said , sure there might be people that get hurt, even die because the nature of the whole thing is very risky. But no cartel could go toe to toe with the delta force. Dedicated militarized units within their organizations with the latest weaponry, armored vehicles, and who've been trained by former expert operators from all over the world, to include the United States. They would tell us they were gonna attack one of the ship's that was moored on the pier we were on. This could be up to a total of 12 large ships. Every ship would set up extra roving patrols and guys on guard. We could never stop them. At least a 1/2 dozen times Ive seen this happen. We could never spot them. trust me we all tried. As a former ranger with 2nd battalion!! I was never told we didn’t have rounds to put down range!! And as far as breaching a location to neutralize a target it happens so fast that the target didn’t have time to register anything before they were neutralized and we were on to the next mission!!! Rangers lead the way!! But Delta is a completely different kind of evil for a target!!! They are the definition Deadly and destructive!!! They leave nothing behind to tell the story of the evil that Delta can unleash on an enemy target!!!

Excellent analysis and very well said! I've had some acquaintance with SFs from several different countries, and I would concur that these guys are capable of completely eliminating the cartels, assuming they were allowed to. As was insinuated here, these guys don't fail - instead, it's always been politicians that fail the military in general. If SF teams were allowed to do their job, I have full confidence they would do it quickly and efficiently. The fact that some cartel members have military training is completely irrelevant in this scenario. SF teams function on the premise that every single operator in their unit has everyone else's back and can be explicitly trusted to do their job. Even the most well-trained cartel dude isn't going to be able to rely on his buddies that way. As was mentioned in the clip, cartel a-holes are mere bullies who prey upon those weaker, or with less firepower, than them. You can damn well bet they wouldn't be quite so brave if SFs descended on them. Rather, there would be a lot of sudden 'brownouts'. God Bless all our operators in their bravery and fortitude; I'm forever grateful for their service. Cheers!

8 teams. 8 gunships. 8 months and 75% of major cartel operations would be decimated. The problem is that last 25% eating up hundreds of billions of dollars for years.

It took 40 minutes for our forces to drop down, get to the compound, make their way in and get Bin Laden and get back to their planes to fly out.....at night and undetected. And hauling out Bin Laden's body. How can anybody say our people are not the best in the operational forces?

What other special forces veterans online opposing this are saying from my understanding is that we’d have a similar issue as Afghanistan where as soon as you get rid of one big terrorist leader, another terrorist leader takes his place and you rinse and repeat the same cycle over and over again, but we do have overwhelming support from the Mexican army and the citizens who are not cartel members, which these guys are saying could change as innocent people are killed in the conflict indirectly.
