Man, I am utterly addicted to your channel, great content! As a bassist who sticks with equipment on a budget end, it's good to see high skilled players using the same. Much respect!
It always good to know that there are high quality instruments available at a reasonable price, Bully you have definitely perked my interest with this Harley model
I knew you genuinely rocked with this bass when you hit that last position. You had the stank face and it made you go into your Anderson Paak bag. That was priceless.
That bass sounds nice. I had a feeling that it was nice when I heard you tuning it acoustically. It sounded great with no amp. Man, I’ve been sleeping on Harley Benton.
Three Harley Bentons here : PB-20, PJ-40FL and this one :) And man .... do I like them ! I just don't understand how on earth it's possible they can make this for such a low price. Keep up the excellent work :)
Nice demo, sir! I've ordered two HBs. One was a gift to a friend and the other was their 50 P that I modded for fun and just sold to a friend for a couple hunny. Relatively excellent necks for a budget bass, which is practically all that matters at these prices. Fun modders! Anyway, subscribed.
I have two Harley Benton basses. A 50s style P bass, and a 70s style J bass. They are really good basses - not just ‘good for the price’. My level of competence doesn’t warrant anything more expensive anyway. I’ve been seriously considering getting the 4 string version of this bass.
What a stellar bass for the money!! I’m definitely gunna get one!! Even though I got stingray basses I still want one I like the pickup selections they give you
Cool video! I bought a sunburst MM MB4 one the other night when I was PISSED - It arrives tomorrow. I don´t even play bass but a good friend had her bass nicked years ago .. so I´ll let her have it. 😎 I actually have a 1983 EBMM Cutlass on my bench for a service .... so will make a comparison tomorrow. Hopefully I´ll remember to hit RECORD ! Letcha know how we get on!!! Cheers from Madrid
Bully, I always enjoy watching your videos. This one especially, The only problem with this bass brother. Is Thomann does not currently offer it as a lifty. That sucks since that bass is one that I would really like to buy from them and can't. Because they do not offer it as a lifty!
Hi boy I hope you're well my question is how long did it take to receive the base from Tolman was it over a month 2 months I'm just curious thanks a lot love your show
Great buys! I have a Harley Benton Rb 414 in black copy. Great bass. I have owned plenty of Harley Benton guitars and the most of them were great. I still would like to get another benton bass like the enhanced 5 string jb copies. Thanks I enjoyed this.
I own 5 HB, they are all awesome, but need tweaking and some work to make them worth instruments 3x-5x more than their purchase price. The Bass VI is a great pick up, really fun instrument for making bass chords.
I have the 70's vintage jazz Benton bass. I love it for the most part. Love watching you and lobster. Any recommendations on a 5 string say $600 and under?
@@BullyThaKidd very cool. I'm kind of just now starting to practice a ton again. I should of been doing this for years. I feel like I've wasted way to much time in kitchens and not enough time working on what I should of been...playing bass. I hope to actually get an amp here soon as well
Nice review and playing skills! Is it good bass to learn slap techniques for newbie? Or maybe I should pick something classical like j-bass or p-bass ?
This is a great video I heard of Harley benton about three years ago was very skeptical on buying something like that at the price but after seeing this video I think I’m going to buy one myself what do you use for a recording interface
Hello, great video. Just 2 questions: How about Low B string? Does it sound good? (some 5 string basses have a low b that doesn't sound good) How about string spacing? It is too narrow?
BTK, have you ever done a video of recording through the Focusrite? I am still new to recoding and have the Scarlet 2i2 and everything is so muddy. Could use pointers.
Yeah that's what I record with when I do my d.I. Videos. What software are u recording into and what bass are u using. It could be your eq, it could be the presets u are picking.
Yep. That's typical for Harley Benton knock offs basses. The thing is that they only look like the original models they copy, but that's about it. HB have their generic sound, but nothing like the real thing. Not bad basses tough.
I've had no problem with Thomann with my purchases. Got two basses, a Les Paul copy, a 335 copy a Telecaster copy and when I can play them well enough I'm going to copy you 🤣 and have my own show. I noticed there shipping price has gone up to ship to the US. It used to be $36 dollars and you could get up to 3 guitars for the same price of $36 bucks shipped. I don't know if it is because of the pandemic or what. Also they used DHL and everything went to customs in Chicago and stayed there a week. Now I see that they are using UPS and I got my basses in about 7 or 8 days. I guess UPS is certified to inspect packages because it never went through customs in Chicago based on tracking info. Now, I wanted to buy that bass but was afraid because I wanted it to come close as possible to the Music man sound. I also saw other reviews on how close the neck pup was to the end of the fretboard. How does it sound in person or are you going to have to give Aguilar a call? Their machine heads aren't the best but for the price, the bodies and necks seems solid. Okay, so enough of my rambling. What's the next Harley Benton Bass will I see next?
I do believe that Harley Benton are doing good bass guitars, but feel a little skeptical when some looks to be endorsing an item (especially whilst wearing the matching T Shirt) when reviewing it. I like someone doing it from a neutral point. But thanks anyway. Bless
Lol. Shirt was 5 bucks.. so I got it. I'm not paid by the company i bought the bass with my own money... im sure Harley Benton doesn't even know I exist... but I get it. The sound of the bass speaks for its self... the only drawback to this one is the neck pickup is really close to the fretboard... not a deal breaker just annoying if you are used to a different pickup set up.
Thomann; I can't begin to tell you the problems I have had with them. I bought three Basses from them and only ever received one. I had to involve my credit card company twice with these guys. Terrible customer service has been my experience... Too bad because I think HB is a good product..

whats the string spacing of this bass

Another thing I do is stretch (pull) the strings out until no slacking is happening. When new they don’t want to tune until totally stretched out.
All good man
