Great vid, amazing what can be done with FDM now. It's a trip seeing Trench Crusade everywhere, I remember when the creator was posting sketches on his socials.
I'm surprised there are no sculptors dedicated to making FDM-centric miniatures, either easy to print or supportless. The market for FDM is much larger than resin and they'll likely get a lot more revenue selling FDM-centric sculpts than resin ones. It would not be as detailed as rein, but FDM has come a long way and the technology is good enough now, and FDM printer owners know what to expect.
Arbiter Miniatures and Brite Minis both make supportless models that are made to print easily on FDM. Look em up. Brite minis are simpler and print very easily and quickly. Arbiter minis are more detailed, but take longer to print and are more expensive.
Shocked how good these FDM prints look, Bambu a1 really is a game changer! I’d happily take a slight quality hit if I meant I didn’t have to mess around with resin
Great video. I just finally received my .2mm nozzle for my A1. Over a month wait because of Canada Post strike. They look amazing. Well done. I'm going to make terrain for it once I'm done with my Zombicide board.
@ it sure can, some terrain fits and for the ones that doesn’t fit, you can slice it into chunks into something like TinkerCAD that is free, or Blender..but Blender can be intimidating. I also think, I haven’t tried, in the slicers you have an option to split items and it can also automatically makes tabs to connect.
@@Slurgical_3D_Terrain_Channel thank you very very. much. I heard the a1 mini quality is better for minis so that why I wanna buy it. thank you very much friend
@ they should print the same, but it feels a waste of space to print on a larger printer. I’m thinking down the line getting a mini for the miniatures because I would feel guilty to print one on my main printer. I did print the motorcycle 32mm scale on my X1C and it printed the mirrors. The left side with support and the right side without because I angled the print. I was impressed with it. I don’t know how a small one will print on a swinging bed, I still have to try that. I also printed with a .4mm, I haven’t tried my .2mm nozzle yet.
If you have the AMS try using PVC or the bambu PLA support material. PVC dissolves in water but is expensive and the PLA support from bambu is usually cheaper than the PLA itself! Otherwise great minis! I got an X1E carbon at work and been wanting to try the mini so I appreciate the showcase!
What are your thoughts on adding texture paste to FDM printed minis? Do you think it'd be a good way to cover layer lines or imperfections in the print?
If love to hear more about filament type- you’re using the FDG profile but a different filament type. Did you test multiple and decide the eSUN was the best? A video comparing those would be great!
I just didnt have great success with Sunlu, I tried out eSun and havent looked back. I just had a better experience with esun but that could be due to my environmental temp/humidity
Great vid again, your one of the main reason that inspired me to get my own a1 for minis. I am just curious about one thing, how come you use 0.08 layers rather than 0.06?
Great video I’ve got an A1 mini and been getting some good results for 28mm minis thanks to your help 👍 What are the benefits of printing by object and not layer? Less travel = less wear?
When you print by layer with multiple objects, you run the risk of small unconnected supports being knocked down although its a rare occurrence. I print by layer more often than by object. But I didnt have time for any print failures, so printing by object was the safest way to print in my head
Good question! Sunlu was my first filament purchase but I never got the results I wanted with it. I tried eSun pla + and immediately was hooked. I'm not sure if I had a bad Sunlu roll or if my environment weather was affecting it. But I've just been reordering esun since. Ain't broke don't fix mentality lol

I was wondering what fdm is capable when it comes to minis. This video really makes me reconsider buying an fdm printer instead of resin.
Loving printing minis on my A1 mini. More inspiration

Arbiter Miniatures
Dutch mogul is a beast on the 15mm scale fdm community, almost all of his sculpts are made with fdm in mind
Evan Carothers (EC3D) also makes excelent support free miniatures.
there's quite a few on BAMBU LABS makers world
Hope to see how well they paint! Nice job!
These look really impressive for FDM. I am shocked at how well the .2mm nozzle can do.
Nice vid! Trench looks rad and I’m stoked to see how they came out in FDM.

Thank you for showing the way pilgrim - these are going to be my 2025 goals 🙌
I’m amazed how well that sniper’s rifle came out!!

Maybe the best minis from fdm i never seen 😳
Aw shucks thank you
Those minis are incredible! Once they're on the table with some paint you'd never tell they're FDM. Super stoked to print these on my A1.
New Antioch armor lookin puffed up, hittin that iron

Can you please start showing models primed so we can more clearly see the details?
Absolutely Ill show off the primed models more, great idea

More mini's to print on my Ai mini and clog up my shelf space.
I tried buying more shelves... now I'm running out of rooms lol

Just out of time sake, I should try to print the pilgrims in .06 and compare
good videos! I like how you don't faff around a lot and just get to showing off the minis!
I like to Print Terrain quite Rough (0.28mm Layer).
To smoothen I just prime Everything with spray filler for car repairs.
Why do you exactly do the Cut before printing?
Can a1 mini print enviroment. Like towers and stuff
These look great. Just curious though could you have printed all of them in one print job?
Yeah space wise I could have fit them on the build plate and print by layer. But I didnt want to risk any failures due to time
Those look great! Question on those trenches shown in the final moments, are those FDM as well and where can I purchase them at?

Awesome cheers, had a play with the settings and might give it a try on a future print! 👍👍👍
Also do you need todo anything after with the model has been printed? Like cure it or such?
Where do you get the .2Nozzle in stock? I found some on Amazon but don’t look like Bambu Lab Quality
I only buy my .2 nozz from Bambu website. I've read some bad reviews about third party .2 nozzles and don't want to risk my a1 mini
Imperial Knight next on fdm?
Of course! Actually painting it rn
Very cool Warhammer™️ 40k™️ proxies thanks!!
Bro where to buy these
Another inspirational FDM print video - how come you are using esun filament instead of sunlu, like the guy you got the print settings from?

Can you print indoor say in your office? Or does it smell to much?
That's a big advantage of FDM printers. If you're using PLA, there's no noticeable smell and it's not toxic
