    Before I had my camper van I’d heard that people help each other on campsites but I’d doubted it, however since I’ve joined this life style I’ve meet some wonderful people that are so happy to help whenever I need it. Great people like yourselves.

    Hi Bob and Jenny, we have recently stayed at Cayton village, refurbishment completed and we must agree it was a lovely well laid out site. Nice short walk to Cayton beach, it was a beautiful beach, with lots of lovely walks to go on in the surrounding areas.

      We are visiting Southport C&MC Friday 😀 😀 😀 and will be in Hebden Bridge Monday. We end up with alot of your gadget recommendations but did choose the Tow Bar 2 Tow Cars and extremely happy with it, less moving parts.

    The lower service pitches are definitely the place to be. We were in the pitch opposite last year. The costal path walks are amazing. You can walk into Scarborough.

    Thanks for sharing another wonderful video Bob and Jenny and for all your videos of the show, we didn't manage this year we decided to visit York instead. Your A frame looks as though it hasnt had a good oiling to protectect it over the winter and I would guess that that would have helped the springs in the locking pins as well, get the 3 in 1 out. Enjoy Scarborough and take care ❤👍

      I spray it everytime we get back home and when it gets wet. I sprayed it after we arrived at Harrogate. Its a spring that gone.

    Glad to see the A frame held up until Cayton - looks a lovely site, one which we’ll have to visit. When you said you were taking the A64, for some reason, I got it in my head it was North of us!! Must be a age thing… Anyway, beers and wine on us when next we meet… take care, enjoy…

    Great vlog as always! Can’t believe we missed you by a couple of days guys, would have been great to see you again. We were pitched right near you, on the first pitch on right past the yurts. Like you say, Cayton is a great site, just a shame all the building work is happening behind it and it’ll soon be overlooked by houses. See you soon guys 👍

  • @jackiesmithsmetaldetecting
    @jackiesmithsmetaldetecting 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice to see you on my coast 😊i always find following the A64 it is always straight across. Where you saw the liitle camp site to your left, that is the turn off to Mum's and Dan's Mums on the right. Bempton is my Mum's where they have the rspvc bird sanctuary with the puffins bit early for them yet though, and a nice cliffe top walk with the dogs. There is a big car park but i am sure out of season don't have to pay. Dad is buried at the Historic church St Michael's that he helped to paint inside. Dan's Mum is at Humnamby by Filey. Locals are not happy that they are building everywhere, they chose to buy a house in the countryside. But i guess they need more. That must have been a bit of a worry with the Aframe glad it could go manual, safe travels all

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose they have to build the houses as there is such a shortage of homes.

    Thank you for all your helpful vlogs, we are new motor homers and have learned a lot from your vids. One question if I could, I notice you reverse up your ramps (front wheels) in a couple of vids, wondering why you don’t drive up them? Many thanks, Graham

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't always reverse up the ramps, but sometimes it's easier if it's the back wheels. Don't ask me why!

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo

      The pub we went to was called The Farriers Arms and we drive passed it and show a small clip when we were leaving the site. It is a short walk into the village of Cayton.

      It's really a personal preference, but we prefer The Caravan and Motorhome Club for their flexible online booking system. However, they are about to introduce a deposits system which will in my opinion, reduces the Flexibility.

    Struggling to see why you can’t use your A frame at some sites. We have a traditional type made by Armitages which doesn’t have the moving arms and we just drive up to the van and drop it on the hitch. The downside with ours is it’s bulky and heavy and we have been contemplating getting the same as yours when we next change the car but the spring bit doesn’t seem up to the job. But apart from that have placed Cayton on our ”must visit” list👍

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I shouldn't have any trouble with hooking up, didn't want to complicate things and someone wanted to go to Hebden Bridge.

  • @markleigh6386

    I am not a motorhome user, and have no association with this kind of stuff at all. I just find your videos interesting. As an outsider, £33 per night seems quite a lot of money to me? Given you are providing your own bed! A hotel/B & B wouldn't be much more than this surely? And all of the running costs, accessories, maintenance, not to mention the current fuel situation (and purchasing of the van!). I had always assumed that having your own motorhome would work out much cheaper in the long run than conventional holidays, but at £33 per night (not at the high season either), have I got this wrong? It seems very expensive to me.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is certainly not one of the cheapest campsites and we pay extra for fresh water and waste water on the pitch. We would never want to go back to sleeping in someone else's bed, eating with their breakfast, admiring their ducks on the wall, then spending the day searching for meals and public toilets! It's the flexibity of a motorhome, going to visit stately homes, a day by the sea or a visit to a local town. We have everything we need with us wherever we go. We used to do cottages but found it very limiting and expensive. Just looking at B&B in Cayton, £133 a night....

      @@BobEarnshawMoHo Haha point made! I guess its not all about cost, as you said. Thanks for the enlightening reply :)
