I use a brass rod and tubing that I also get from hobby lobby . You can use different things like plastic rod and tubing. I prefer the brass I believe it is strong and more durable
@@backwoodsmodeler3340 sweet, do you have any advice on getting the wheels/tires off the truck? (4:08) for reference? I can always get one full axle off but not the other.
@@ronanpocock7789 i sometimes have to use my side cutters to help get the wheels off, also I sometimes use a small pair of vice grips when they don't want to come off

Good video, can u do like a first gen dually build similar to this, like with bullbar and stock wheels
Possibly! Do you have a pic of what you want?
@@backwoodsmodeler3340 idk how to post it lol
it reminds me of the 2008 ford f550 build i just finished you should do a custom of the hotwheels 2007 chevy silverado
I will have to see if I can find one
Are the shims just styrofoam? Or foam if some sort?
And then, with the back axle is it kinda the same when you lift a truck? Like same tubing and stuff?
The shims are polystyrene pieces, I get them in sheets from hobby lobby they come in different thickness so you can mix and match to your needs
