Right? Mullet was orginally supposed to have a jet engine......then he was smart and realized he would kill himself. 😂 Boosted Boiz stepped in an said....Hold my beer!
I can’t believe how well it works 😂 as a heli mechanic I would recommend keep the battery charged well to prevent a hot start. Over 850 Celsius is hot, if temp spikes kill fuel immediately and keep motoring engine with the starter to cool. It looks like he had 18 % N1 on startup which is good. Also let the engine temp stabilize for 30 seconds at idle before shutting down.
It NEEDS something to monitor over speed. Anything over 102% power turbine speed, it needs to kill fuel. Starter should carry it up to about 65% gas producer speed before it stops. And maybe add post running lubrication for the bearings if it doesn’t have it already.
I used to run the Pull-A-Part in Augusta Georgia. This man would come through and say he was buying tires for his burnout minivan and I thought he was nuts. It is so awesome to see a mad scientist like this on the big stage
@@Mopar_logic because the output shaft of the jet engine what normally drives the rotors of the helicopter is now connected to the back tires of the minivan

OH MY GOSH! As a pilot of turbine powered aircraft for decades, all I have to say is be VERY careful with that machine and take serious precaution as you "play" with that. Those turbine blades have a lot more mass than the smaller turbo's you are familiar with working with. If you chuck a turbine blade, that will launch out that van for probably thousands of feet at high speed. But yes, that van looks like a lot of fun. Not really sure what you can do with it, but it's pretty bad ass just as it is! Just be careful!
@Marc11M that guy said that just so he didn't have to face the reality of getting rid of his baby. More like on permanent lease. Either way, you still had a good idea. 👍
This guy is a legend in the TH-cam car video history! I remember watching him on TH-cam a long time ago with this jet van. Cool you got him to come on the channel!
Love this for you guys! Finally an actual turbo shaft and not some old turbojet just helping push on YT!! My first reaction would be to get the most grip for a good pass on the turbine engine. Maybe mini tub? I was a Maintainer in the AF for a while, if I were you I would definitely take it to Cleet and get a rundown of safety/ emergency procedures. Like you said in the video, make a checklist! There are a lot of things that can go wrong hot start, hung start etc. I could only see the rpm/% power gauge in the video but it would probably be a worthwhile investment to have fuel flow and EGT/TIT gauges as well. I’m curious how it would react to the shock load if it had tires that would actually hook up, I would do some research into how other turbo shaft cars have done it. Best of luck with it, it will be a great experience!
The van is imlpresive enough as it is , he needs to uograde the brakes and maibe the front tires and the reardiff but should keep using street tires as its proven to keep the driveshaft in one piece , start looking intoo more grip and you start finding weak spots and probably more cost than the increase in speed will be worth

That 3.8L was a Honda killer back in the day if it didn't throw the diff pin. Great clip guys!
The Mitsubishi sourced v6 wasn't terrible either. Not quite as much torque but It revved out decent.
I grew up riding in one, pops drove it like he stole it. It spit at least 3 different diff pins
Nice, I had the newer 3.8L 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan and it was AWD. Pretty quick for it's size and always ran great. Paid $400 but later drifted it into a curb in snow storm but it had 452000kms and was pretty rusty so to the junk yard it went
@@goosenotmaverick1156the 3.8 is all American OHV designed. The older generation is Mitsubishi.
@@waterloo123100 I'm aware, hence my saying "wasn't terrible either"
@@waterloo123100 maybe before correcting people, you should make sure you understood what they said. That wasn't an ambiguous comment whatsoever.
I work for a part 135 helicopter operator. I have been showing this to our mechanics all day.
This has got to be the most boost any boostedboy can run.
Absolute peak boost!
The mother load of boost
Chris is officially the freakin man!!!! Omg this is awesome!!!! The fact it retracts and everything and that its not just thrust powered, its actually wheel driven is just the best!!!! I cant wait to see more!!!! Thank your Chris for this awesome creation and sharing it with the world!!!! We all owe you a giant thank you!!!!
You guys are amazing not only giving away my dream truck but also a trailer and a car with it, life is rough right now for me but hopefully it goes to someone who will treat the truck right and builds the car from where you left off.
Freedom Factory this weekend. Make Cleetus jealous.
Can't even imagine that in a burnout competition 25:38
He won a competition, lots of people complained then they banned turbine powered cars the next year for the burnout competition
They should at least run it in cleetus burnouts even if it’s not in the competition
@@shanemayers777 cleet would probably welcome it with open arms
Probably the most practical, and the best giveaway I've ever seen done on YT! Good job Kyle and team..
I remember seeing this van in Aiken awhile back. It's so cool that you guys ended up with it.
Yeah. Ive seen it 4 time in aiken and Augusta car meets.
Talk about business in the front, party in the back.
Kyle must be KILLING IT with the merch sales to be able to give away that setup!!! Keep up the awesome work brother!!
The Cummins is looking very good!
Those Dodge Caravan R/t are pretty cool in stock form, I've always like them.
Fighter jet wrap, Brakes, safety auto start so it wont fire up with back window closed, rear racing studs, so cool.
Definitely needs to go to the freedom factory!
To do what? Drive around in a circle?

Now we just need a complete explanation on how this thing is tied to the rearend! What an awesome time and Chris was a Gem!
The same way a jet is tied to the blades on a choper
drive shaft from the turbine is connected to a rear axle
Yea, I just wanna see how it’s done. I get the concept, wanna see the details, like what rear axle and is it run through a transfer case?
@@AlexBrown-jj7jm you can see the huge reduction gear right behind the driver seat and drive shaft coming out of the front just below the turbine. It probably has something similar to what a boat has to redirect the power down under the chassis to the rear end. Like a v drive or something.
A build bio would still be sweet
