So sweet! Alexis and Castle moments were what made him lovable, showed us his softer side, back when he was playing the playboy and jackass. Along with the glimpses we saw of how Beckett affected him, that is. But for Beckett especially, seeing him as a father was what first pierced her armor a bit. Maybe it's what made us all first fall in love with his character - Before we fell for the way he loves Beckett, we fell for the big heart he showed his daughter.
God, she's beautiful and the gentleness in her voice is so calming and hypnotic.
I already thought castle was the perfect man. Castle as a dad, is even better 😍

Great video! I really love the alexis castle relationship. I think the series should also show more about the alexis/beckett relationship, but the kind of keeping it on the background a little.
sammiexhp always i agree i would really like to see more alexis and beckett moments I think they would become really close because they both understand not having their mother around. I might do a video on them at some point :) and thanks for watching & commenting

I loved Alexis as a teenager, though as the series started going down hill, i thought she had lost her uniqueness. She is a brilliant actor and I would like to see her in movies

Can someone please tell me the episode where castle lifts Alexis off the stairs it’s really sweet I watch the series and can’t remember the episode
I'm currently rewatching Castle and I've come to realize that I'm actually not the biggest fan of Castle and Alexis's relationship. There never seems to be any consequences for some of the things that she does. Castle is her father, not her friend but they treat the whole relationship as if there are just friends. The moments where Castle is being a father and Alexis doesn't like it, she gets upset and its always Castle who goes and apologizes when really Alexis needs to get over herself. Castle's child like behavior is used to excuse Alexis's bad behavior. Just because you parents did something doesn't mean that you should also. Learn from their mistakes. She always uses that you did it excuse to talk her way out of trouble but that is not an excuse. Parents tell their child not to do something when they themselves have done it because they know from experience that it was a bad idea.
And yet his way of parenting worked for him. His daughter turned out great and they have an amazing relationship. Being a parent is give and take, children may not be considered adults but they aren’t mindless slaves. Taking the aggressive approach you have may make them fall and line and make you feel better but it’s likely to make your child less likely to come to you and feel attacked when talking to you. If your child doesn’t feel they are being heard, how can you help them if they are ever in serious trouble? Go ask a lot of adults and teens, did they find it hard to talk to their parents about important subjects even when they clearly needed the help of their parents. Because I can tell you, me, my sisters, and our friends kept a lot of secrets from our parents.
@@shayla106 You're absolutely right, it IS a give and take. Except in their relationship Castle gives and gives and gives and Alexis just takes.
They don't have a good relationship. It's the very DEFINITION of toxic. The only reason no one talks about it is because the show goes out of its way to make Castle appear to be in the wrong and have him capitulate to every demand she has and tell her he was wrong regardless of whether he actually was or not.
She takes him for granted, she belittles him at nearly every opportunity, she doesn't respect him or his career and she makes it clear she thinks she's superior to him.
Take her expecting him to pay for everything. She doesn't ask if he will pay for a trip or a vehicle, she tells him she's going to do something and then expects him to pay for it as if it's a given.
She brings her laundry over to his house to do because she doesn't want to pay to use the machines at school. She secretly steals his food out of his fridge and lies to his face when he asks about it, then gets pissy when he sets a harmless trap to figure out what is happening to his food. And the reason she was stealing his food? Because she gave away all her allowance (which is implied to be quite a lot of money) and couldn't afford to buy her own food. Why would she give away all her money? Because she knows she can just guilt Castle into giving her more.
Or how about when she moved a guy she'd only known for a couple weeks into Castles apartment while he was out of town without telling him or asking him if it was okay and then got upset that he wasn't completely happy with that arrangement. I mean shit, how many times do they call out Martha for being a freeloader? At least SHE never invited her homeless buddies to come stay with her on Castles dime.
Or when she created her vlog and Castle told her it wasn't a good idea to share every facet of her life with the internet for every creep and psycho in the world to see. He never said she had to STOP, just that she was oversharing and it could be dangerous. She got mad at him about it and acted like he was being too controlling and not respecting her. Martha told him he did worse things as a kid and he was being overbearing. Beckett (who, as a COP has seen young women who were stalked and killed, should understand the dangers of oversharing more than anyone) tells him he's being too overbearing and he should just be okay with whatever she wants to do.
And so of course, he apologized and groveled for forgiveness like he always does. What happened 5 episodes later? Someone uses that Vlog to find out where Alexis is going to be and kidnaps her and another completely unrelated, totally innocent girl. So hey, Castle was RIGHT all along! Do they EVER acknowledge that? No, of course not. This is what I mean when I say the show goes out of its way to make Castle be in the wrong no matter what.
And she continues this behaviour for the rest of the series. She does something stupid, Castle says "Hey maybe that's not the best idea?" and she blows up at him or tells him he's not welcome in her life anymore because he's not 'respecting her choices' or something to that effect. Then if it comes back to bite her in the ass, she goes to Castle expecting that he will bail her out.
