I love the new direction with the channel I showed up on your subscriber list sometime towards the end of the pandemic and I've watched your vids decline in quality. I'm very happy to see that you are taking your channel seriously and I hope that these more awesome videos will keep showing up in my feed. Thanks for having the best nuzlock reaction content in the world.
Hey pChal, Felipez here, thank you so much for making this video and showing what the Pokémon Twitch Cup is to the non spanish speaking community!! It's hard to put in to words what has been like playing the Twitch Cups. I've been making videos for a really long time and I can confidently say that this is by far the best thing I've been a part of in all this years. Having the oportunity to play a Pokemon game dedicated to you is something else. For anyone who reads this and didn't get to experience it during the streams, pChal did an amazing job summarizing both the tournament and the game but I'll try to add a bit more to that. This is a Pokemon game divided into areas which are designed to pay homage to the players involved. For example, the area dedicated to me in this edition of the game was a mushroom forest filled with quotes taken from videos I made over 10 years ago, and the small area I had last year had references from my favourite game and a battle against myself with a custom Rapidash skin that was both a reference to a twitch emote in my channel and an ode to my late dog. That broke me. The amount of love and atention put into this experience, the people making sure everything goes as smooth as possible for a couple weeks while having the pressure of knowing hundred of thousands of eyes are on them, it's just unreal and I'm so happy to have been a part of this And for the tournament, having the competitive community getting involved on something like this is also surreal. My coach is not really a coach, he's just a friend, but most coaches are world class players, and everyone can have one of the top players in the world walking through this experience with them, aiding in both the main game and the tournament. I just like playing with my friend so in all the Twitch Cup editions I've gone my way, but if at any moment we felt like we didn't know what to do, how to make a propper team with the Pokemon we had, or needed any help, we knew we could go on a discord call for hours with one of the best players in the world so that he could help us. Imagine being unsure on how to aproach the next time you were going to play football with your friends and having Messi come over to help you, well, that's pretty much it. The competitive community's support over this events is insane, and greatly apreciated. As far as I know this may very well be the last Twitch Cup, I sincerely hope it's not, but whatever happens being a part of this has been such an honor Thank you again for making this video Get Sopited
TL;DR. In this case means too long; did read. Great to see the mutual love and respect among streamers and it was a joy to watch this video. Awesome job man.
I love it, I genuinely think it's a service, but also, man is that some free ass content: look at this cool shit other people up to! No hate, I still think it's cool.
With a double hit from Blizzard none the less. Whatever the odds of the miss/crit/freeze are, cut that in half and that'll be about what you're looking at for this.

that has to be one of the coolest ideas making your team based on a randomized nuzlocke and turning the remaining mons into a team for competitive is so cool
I vaguely remember this being to some capacity before. I think two nuzlockers did a 6v6 singles match after a nuzlocke to determine a winner. But yeah this cool. Any time there is new types of content or experimentation its a plus.
Glad to see the ingenuity! (And a community that accepts it!) Doing battles with constructed teams missed the whole 'monster catcher' aspect of the genre.
Ibai is a legendary esports caster and the top streamer in spain, theres so many amazing moments of his casts. One of the most iconic moments casting league is a clip called "Son Robots" it's pure gold
I'm from Spain and its amazing how that was made; sekiam (vgc player that once won an international tournament) and. Ibai yelling a lot all throughout the tournament
In the first Twitch Cup he named many of his Pokémon as car parts. He had a Kingdra named "Retrovisor" (literally Rearview lmao), a Jumpluff named "Wheel", an Alakazam named "Cylinder" and so on. It was amazing.

The "Get Sopita'd" strategy ressembles a strategy done on the Twitch Cup 2 by a streamer called "Chusomontero" which had a Pidgeot that learned Explosion. Chuso made it extra funny calling him "Carrerocum" (cum is not unintentional, due to his "cum" related nicknames throughout the entire nuzlocke), because of Carrero's name, who was a fascist politician in Spain that got boomed in his car. Truly a majestic callback.
Before I actually watch the whole video, I want to pause for a moment to type this out. I’ve followed you for a long time, and I never expected you’d mention the twitch cup. (I’m from Spain, so I tend to tune into IlloJuan’s run when the twitch cup takes place). I don’t know how likely it is that it’ll happen, but since you’ve made an entire video about how last year’s event went down, I think it would be amazing to see you take part in this year’s as a coach. Now, I’ll just let you know I love your content and how you narrate/explain things in your videos. I think everything you put out is very elaborate, curated and carefully crafted. Keep killing it. Wish you all the best
I can really tell how effective the revamp has been. As someone who enjoyed the content prior to the revamp, I was confused at first, but these last two videos have been nothing short of phenomenal. Bridging the gap with between the communities using your nuzlocke skills from experience and your improved storytelling skills from alpharad is the perfect path that combines your niche. Bravo pChal, Bravo
As a spanish watcher from Barcelona, thanks for sharing pokemon comunnities too. I watched all three twitch cups and they are so fun. Specially since one of the players... He finished third in the first Pokemon World Cup. Knekro Enjoyer. Also... Nice of you to mention Felipez, he's such a chill guy to watch. And nice translations for the vid! great work! PD. what's actually hillarious is that this is the second time an exploding bird has made the finals of pokemon twitch cup. In twitch cup 2, soulsborne speedruner Chuso Montero made finals (i think, he maybe got knocked down in semis) with an adaptability exploding pidgeot named CarreroCum
Don’t forget about Knekro, he was one of the coaches at the event for Illojuan, he was the first 3rd place in the very first official pokemon tournament in 1999, it was played on pkm stadium !!

As an Argentinian viewer, i'm so happy about this video, it's so great that you showcase things from other international pokemon comunities! Excellent video! Thank you so much for showing the English community what mines does
Spanish community has a centralizing figure "Ibai" he is a sort of a "sport narrator" type of talent, so he is all in about making all types of events for the spanish-speaking community, his viewers record comes from a boxing event between streamers in top european soccer arenas. That is how big he is and why they got a whole fangame designed for them.
@@walberparker7111 This tournament is not organized by him. However a friend of him called BarbeQ is the main leader of the event. The main different with english community is that spanish streamers, even having huge differences and problems, they join to create huge events. English ones have small groups that never join together. Spanish ones have Ibai and Auronplay and send invitations to hundreads of streamers.
@@walberparker7111 Well yeah, but this particular event is not founded nor organized by him, he is just a participant. The organizers are sekiam (maybe you know him from vgc tho hes been more casual lately) and barbeq, tho as the tournament advances and ibai gets eliminated he joins the casters
I didn't expect the Twitch Cup to be showcased here but as both a hispanic twitch follower who has followed this tournament since the first edition and a pChal subscriber, this is so fun.
As someome that followed all 3 Twitch Cups, i can assure you this was one of the best videos explaining the event. Thanks for doing this, have been following the channel for years and this absolutely made my day! For anyone reading this wanting further context on how the Twicth Cup has gone through out the years: The first Twitch cup was a Fire Red play through that ended in a singles tournament. Twitch Cup 2 was created from scrap, creating a new narrative, custom towns inspired in streamers and custom Pokémon/trainer sprites for every streamer. Twitch cup 3 was done the same way as the second edition: new story that was related to the previous year's one, every streamer had it's own sprite/custom poke (they may never encounter it though, as encounters are random) but added the VGC format to change things up!
This is really awesome and it seems amazing fun to both participate in and watch. You’re right at the end, we really could learn something from this community.
Oh Jan, seeing you cover the Pokemon Twitch Cup made my heart explode. I love your videos as you made me rediscover a part of Pokemon several years ago and as I was watching this video I couldn't hold a smile back during the entire of it. You really got my heart sopited.
I loved seeing how over the course of the competition, some players would start putting up fanart of their pokemon on the stream. The pokemon puns in Spanish were wild too, great video!
Thank you for doing this, Jan. We, the spanish people that watch your videos, are very surprised about you telling Sopita's story. Just one correction. Poke Twitch Cup 2 champion was Reven, not Mixwell. Reven was coached by LenVGC, also a top pro player.
The pokemon Twitch Cup is one of the best events Ibai has ever hosted. It always is a huge hit in the community when it happens and always revives the pokemon-obsessed kid within us. I love how Jan is covering other aspects of the pokemon community, happy that it was my country this time. Greetings from Zamora, Spain.
Brother seeing this video is making me so happy 😭 Im so glad a cool event from my country is reaching more international audiences. Thank you pchal ❤️❤️❤️
it's incredible that you followed this entire spanish speaking tournament. i also love how you put in some funny clips of them talking- it feels like you knew spanish and how funny they were
You wanted to come into this year better, and you are doing an amazing job at it, showcasing just how far this community stretches, it's honestly great.
I just can’t thank you enough, I’m part of this community in Spanish Pokémon. You’re doing such an amazing work. Thank you so much Dan. Keep up the amazing videos and streams!
Wow, awesome video. As someone who have followed all three Twitch Cup editions, I feel the need to coment that there's also some incredible moments from the second one, in which one of the contestants, Chuso (ChusoMMontero), went full out with a team whose strategy was to do Explosion to the whole enemy team, as the gym leader that suffered it held a battle beforehand as an NPC in which they killed a Pokemon with Self-Destruct. In fact, this gym leader was Knekro, or Sergio García, who back in the day classified as third in the first world tournament of Pokemon in 2000. Finally, Chuso was so pumped by this tournament (he finished second with a strategy similar to Felipez haha) that he started going to VCG tournaments around Europe. Sadly, he quitted streaming as he was stroken by anxiety and other things, but he still goes to tournaments and he started a career in game development. I needed to share this because going from a "silly" tournament to the real deal takes some guts imho and I kind of admire him for that. It's nice to see these videos from English speaking community, I knew you 'cause I have watched some of your videos after watching the Jaiden's one about Nuzlockes haha
Love PChal showing off the Pokemon and Nuzlocke communities of other countries but also with a constant message of rolling with the punches and having the most fun.
I delayed watching this video because I was convinced it was an April fools video but I guess it was just classic pchal releasing a video at the end of the month
Absolutely incredible video and absolutely grear job showcasing the event to tou community. I would absolutely love to wathc something remotely similar between English Communities but the Spanish event is so absolutely gold that I doubt it can be done any better.
This is actually the coolest idea ive ever heard of. Thats so freaking cool!! Maybe i can improve my spanish while i watch too. Mark Zuckerberg being the final boss is funny as hell lol i love that pokemon ban system, that would make games so much more interesting to watch! Sopita is the hero we do not deserve.
Pchal’s story telling is awesome. It really makes you feel like you were there especially when you’re still learning what’s out there. Really an anchor in this community imo. Appreciate you, brother
Videos like this makes me want to learn more languages because some of these high-quality tournaments the non-English speaking streamers are setting up look sooooo cool
I thought i was pretty plugged in to the pokemon scene, but your last two videos have shown just how much is out there past the english-speaking community. Love seeing these and id also like to look at some of these events thanks to you
This is for sure a video i didnt expected but an amazing one non the least. As a spanish viewer is nice to see PTC 3 get some international notice i hope this helps EN community to do something like this.
so cool to see the spanish-talking community been recognized by the english one, the twitch cup is such a cool format of nuzlocke, i thing the coolest thing is the teams of a pro-coach and a normal streamer
Unironically thank you so much for this Juan, I really really enjoy listening to this kind of content about pokemon and other games Im into and I often feel as though theres an entire world of content I miss out on because of language barriers. PLEASE keep up this style of content!!
Love the new direction you've taken with this channel! Highlighting international parts of the Pokemon community is super interesting and hopefully will bring these separate communities closer together
Also, at the end of the tournament he dedicated the win to Chuso, the finalist of 2022 tournament which played with a Pidgeot with explosion. He doesn't stream anymore tho :c
I've been watching you for a long time pChal, and it's good to see you get more and more comfortable with your presentation and scripts. You've come a long way, and your content just keeps getting better, good on you man.
In love with the final match being held on a background from Sekiro's final boss fight against Isshin Ashina, how fitting for an ultimate battle to the last, man
Ive watched the twitch cup closely since its first season. It is a truly amazing show, idea, game, and homage to all streamers involved. It is implied that it is really entertaining as well
It is awesome that you are showing this to us, but even more awesome to see how far the Pokemon community can take the games far beyond what the games allow.
Just a little correction there at the end, the one screaming his lungs out isn't Ibai, it's another streamer named Sekiam. Ibai was the host and had Sekiam as a commentator as he's an experienced VGC player. I've known about the Twitch Cup for a while but never got into it, it's still cool seeing you highlighting it, fantastic video! Nunca me esperé ver al Xokas en un video de pChal, increíble la línea de tiempo en la que vivimos

@@walberparker7111 Well yeah, but this particular event is not founded nor organized by him, he is just a participant. The organizers are sekiam (maybe you know him from vgc tho hes been more casual lately) and barbeq, tho as the tournament advances and ibai gets eliminated he joins the casters
i just said this 😭 wtf this is so cool
I didn't expect the Twitch Cup to be showcased here but as both a hispanic twitch follower who has followed this tournament since the first edition and a pChal subscriber, this is so fun.
A sad thing we didn't see the almighty "Mierdón" from alexelcapo on this tournament.
The biggest Mierdon was IluTv's Greedent
odia perder.@@San-san6499
4:09 Que estos dos hayan salido en un análisis de mi canal favorito de Pokémon me parece tan surrealista y maravilloso 🥲
As someome that followed all 3 Twitch Cups, i can assure you this was one of the best videos explaining the event. Thanks for doing this, have been following the channel for years and this absolutely made my day!
For anyone reading this wanting further context on how the Twicth Cup has gone through out the years:
The first Twitch cup was a Fire Red play through that ended in a singles tournament.
Sopita team
I loved seeing how over the course of the competition, some players would start putting up fanart of their pokemon on the stream. The pokemon puns in Spanish were wild too, great video!
Thank you for doing this, Jan. We, the spanish people that watch your videos, are very surprised about you telling Sopita's story.
Just one correction. Poke Twitch Cup 2 champion was Reven, not Mixwell. Reven was coached by LenVGC, also a top pro player.
3:41 is peak character design
The reference is a 12 year old video from the spanish comunity goat youtuber Rubius. Search flechipolla if you want to see the video.
th-cam.com/video/U3ideCc0lAM/w-d-xo.html for context, yet not sure if it helps much xD
I did a double take on that one ngl
This one’s reference is 12 years old already but it’s still extremely iconic inside Spain’s meme history. Still a classic
3:40 WWWOOOAAAAAAAHHHH IS HE HOLDING WHAT I *THINK* HES HOLDING?!?!?!
That's from an old TH-cam joke made in Skyrim by the biggest Spanish TH-camr. Yes it's exactly what it looks like
yeah, this is the context xd th-cam.com/video/U3ideCc0lAM/w-d-xo.html
Those new video ideas are so interesting and pleasant to watch man. I like the new direction of the channal a lot so far
Felipez was like "I have a terrorist Bird and a Dream"
Brother seeing this video is making me so happy 😭
Im so glad a cool event from my country is reaching more international audiences.
Loving the direction of the videos :) was worried at first when you said you’d pivot but it’s going well
I just can’t thank you enough, I’m part of this community in Spanish Pokémon.
It's nice to see these videos from English speaking community, I knew you 'cause I have watched some of your videos after watching the Jaiden's one about Nuzlockes haha
these last few vids deep diving into exposing different cultures in pokemon have been so fuckin rad.
as part of the spanish community I love you for making this video... greetings from barcelona!
Love PChal showing off the Pokemon and Nuzlocke communities of other countries but also with a constant message of rolling with the punches and having the most fun.
Projects like these make me so sad that there's such a barrier between these communities. Very creative stuff.
Sopita is the hero we do not deserve.
yo wtf the custom game made for the tournament is crazy lmao i can't believe i've never heard of it before lmao
Even some parts of the content in the end game referenced memes from the participants in the early part of the adventure. So much attention to detail.
Pchal’s story telling is awesome. It really makes you feel like you were there especially when you’re still learning what’s out there. Really an anchor in this community imo. Appreciate you, brother
Dude, this is the most inspired and awesome format I've ever seen. Someone get Alpharad on making this happen in the english speaking community!
I remember following this event, it’s nice to see pChal take a look at international events
Videos like this makes me want to learn more languages because some of these high-quality tournaments the non-English speaking streamers are setting up look sooooo cool
Wasn't expecting to see a video about the Spanish tournament, but I'm extremely glad you made one. Keep it up, Jan!
I thought i was pretty plugged in to the pokemon scene, but your last two videos have shown just how much is out there past the english-speaking community. Love seeing these and id also like to look at some of these events thanks to you
As somebody who speaks spanish but isn’t in the spanish scene its fucking hilarious how they react to the plays. Gives me football vibes
This is for sure a video i didnt expected but an amazing one non the least. As a spanish viewer is nice to see PTC 3 get some international notice i hope this helps EN community to do something like this.
Fly high,CarreroCUM
so cool to see the spanish-talking community been recognized by the english one, the twitch cup is such a cool format of nuzlocke, i thing the coolest thing is the teams of a pro-coach and a normal streamer
Yeah! My favorite bird finally gets some respect, and being named little soup is a perfect fit
Being from Spain, watching pChal talking about the Pokémon twitch cup makes me happy
Also, at the end of the tournament he dedicated the win to Chuso, the finalist of 2022 tournament which played with a Pidgeot with explosion. He doesn't stream anymore tho :c
Priority Explosion is the scariest two word sequence I have heard in pokemon.
What? There was no priority explosion
felipez had gale wings on Sopita
@@BeOWoLF6698 gale wings only gives priority to flying type attacks - explosion was unaffected by this
@@fbisurveillanceman9606 exactly
I've been watching you for a long time pChal, and it's good to see you get more and more comfortable with your presentation and scripts. You've come a long way, and your content just keeps getting better, good on you man.
Ive never heard of this tournament and it sounds so amazing thanks pchal for spreading awareness of pokemon content from all around the world!
In love with the final match being held on a background from Sekiro's final boss fight against Isshin Ashina, how fitting for an ultimate battle to the last, man
Ive watched the twitch cup closely since its first season. It is a truly amazing show, idea, game, and homage to all streamers involved. It is implied that it is really entertaining as well
We may have missed the biggest pokemon tournament but we never misses a sponsorship deadline!
MIERDON HATES LOSING
One of your best videos, and definitely the best non-nuzlocke one
seeing PChal showing off multiple pokemon related things from around the world makea me really happy, specially since i was really hyped to see the Twitch Cup 3 live from Illojuan's POV. thank you for showing off those amazing projects Jan!
Ah yes, the end of the month and the last few hours before pChal misses his deadline. I love knowing when his videos are going to be posted, always right on time!
I really hope we have enough content for more of such videos. It's insanely entertaining!
I only have one thing to say... Get Sopited!
Also, amazing work into this video. Is great that non-spanish people can now know about this amazing event the spanish community does every year. They put really hard work on making the best possible event.
honestly what a crazy sick project from the spanish pokemon and streaming communities, you have done some absolutely awesome work researching and sharing these non-English communities.
This video was absolutely incredible!
Following a single player through on journey through this tournament was very interesting and I really appreciate, that you show perspectives on Pokemon and Nuzlocking, that I would have never seen otherwise.
Folagor calvo
Great video! It’s really interesting to see what other communities are doing
Jan, I've been loving your increased coverage of international championships, content creators, and challenges. It's really, really cool and unlike anything any other Poketuber is doing right now
This, combined with your general attention towards talking about the community at large and your INSANE jump in production and overall video quality, has made you my favorite Poketuber as of now
Keep up the fantastic work!
