Doc !! I was hoping you’d do a video on scissors! I have a lot of videos to catch up on ! I just got back from my honey moon so I have been able to watch In almost two weeks!
Hello again Doc Thank you for another Great Video. I had no idea, there were that many styles of scissors available. Tin snips are pretty much normal. What will you do with majority of the scissors. Again thank you
I use my pair for cutting sheet metal for roofing, and vinyl siding! these are the best for quick precision long cuts without tearing your hands up all to hell!
I like those too but to allow the workpiece access to near the pivot, they have to be opened more than one handed. So the big blades are not fully used and the leverage advantage is reduced. Other than that they are great.
I just picked up the 8" Fiskars PowerArc shears today, the ones with the two loops like regular scissors. I've been looking for stuff since i got home; they are really a pleasure to use.
I like how they seem to keep the hand above the cutting plane and above the stiff sheet metal. Nice! BTW: my favorite all-around shop scissors are generic green handled long shears that were used in a chicken processing plant. Got them for $5 at a flee market and they cut everything I need w precision!
Malco also makes a lot of tools for dealing with sheet metal/siding/HVAC/ducting & all that... not bad stuff! They're the same ones that started the re-production Vise Grips... in the exact same plant Peterson produced them in! I actually have a pair, but have yet to have a need for them. They look fantastic! They're marketed as 'Eagle Grips' or some such. (I hear Snap-On even carries them now.) Cool videos, Thanks!
@@lastbesttool sorry the comment wasn’t better, but since you replied, now I will reply with my real comment. WOW, you got a real steal of a deal getting these for 10$, based on your video they look brand new, I saw them online for about 65$ new after taxes and shipping. I hope project farm does a video on snips someday because there is wayyy too many snips and no real way for me to know which one is the best/worth my money. These ones you got seem to be very nice. I use thin galvanized metal sheets for body repair and was wondering, do you know if these will cut that? I’m able to cut it with Fiskar PowerGear aviation snips, if these could do it that would be better due to the ergonomics and leverage you pointed out

I like the long red handled Wiss snips. 👍

In my experience, both Bahco and Felco make the absolute best pruning shears. Use them on an almost faily basis in my line of work.

First the worst second the best. Can't be the last best tool when you're first 😉
